  1. That would be amazingly lenient. To be honest, they should consider themselves most fortunate if they remain in the SFL after the financial shenanigans and attempted blackmail, never mind scratching a fixture.
  2. You are most wise then. Perhaps you could use your infleunce on the half-wits on Livi Lions who think your club do not deserve any punishment whatsoever. We need to get this thread back on track. Livi deserve a severe punishment for scratching Saturday's fixture and I'm sure most of those present at Thursday's meeting will be of a similar mind. Surely, despite the views of Bob Brannan, Livi cannot be re-instated into the first division. I do not expect Thursday to go well for McGruther and co, but I just hope we see the end of this sorry saga sooner rather than later.
  3. Livi have no intention of paying all their debts. You forgot to mention the penalty for failure to fulfil a fixture. What do you think is a fair punishment for breaking Rule 28.4?
  4. ...or failing that you could cheat the system by writing a cheque to PLL by way of bribery, but cancel said cheque before she has a chance to cash it. Yes, she would become a creditor but you could set up a CVA and pay her 5% of the agreed fee at a later date. In the meantime, she will be virtually penniless but it doesn't matter because you will have reached the pinnacle of your career as a poster by appearing in a poll on the Livi Lions forum. It's really a very simple concept, but don't do it too often or people will never trust you again.
  5. I think my information is up-to-date: Brown McMaster (President) - Stenhousemuir Jim Ballantyne (Chairman) – Airdrie United Donny MacIntyre (Treasurer) – Albion Rovers Lachlan Cameron – Ayr United Jim Leishman – Dunfermline Ewen Cameron – Alloa Athletic Alan Ripley – Arbroath Malkay Mackay – Queen’s Park
  6. No, he hasn't. He has just stated that expulsion is a possibility, which it is according to the rules.
  7. It could have been worse. You could have been banned for life.
  8. Have others been banned as well, apart from you and Millfield Marksman? Surely, they provide a reason. How long's the ban for?
  9. Your club is that bad I'm afraid. Given the actions taken today, I'm afraid your club will elicit very little sympathy from many Scottish football fans. I am sure many Livi fans are honest and sincere football supporters; these events must be killing them. However, Livingston FC is an embarrassment.
  10. Perhaps, one positive may come out of all this: lessons will be learned. I sincerely hope so.
  11. Anything is possible, but Livingston have rather shot themselves in the foot.
  12. Instead of blaming the SPL, I'd look in the direction of West Lothian if I was you. Livi have been demoted and they should play the fixture. Their fans want a club and a chance to start afresh; this is their opportunity.
  13. Your fans should have made that clear to McGruther & co. Your club should have accepted the decision reached with good grace. The blackmail campaign, highlighted by the first division business plan, must have played some part in the SFL's decision to demote you to the third division. By all means appeal (you have no chance of winning), but do not refuse to fulfil a fixture. Edited; After reading a few posts on Livi Lions forum it is pretty clear to me that many of your fans cannot accept the prospect of third division football. McGruther appears to be of a similar mind. How can Livi fulfil a fixture in Dingwall, but not one just up the road at Ochilview? What bloody planet is he living on?
  14. Unfortunately, any residual sympathy Livingston may have had from some quarters in Scottish football is fast disappearing. Not so long ago Livingston fans were more than happy to just survive, even in the third division. Now they deem themselves too good to turn up to a fixture against lowly East Stirlingshire (no disrespect intended). If I have any symapthy for anyone, it is the East Stirlingshire fans. Livingston FC are not bigger than the game in this country, far from it.
  15. Possibly, but your club have taken one helluva risk. Are you comfortable with the decison reached, even though it could put the whole future of your club in question?
  16. Expulsion. Are the white knights intent on portraying themselves as martyrs? Perhaps they have no intention of adapting their business plan and want to save face by getting the club thrown out of the SFL. If that BBC report is accurate, the future looks very bleak for Livingston FC.
  17. Livi's statement is certainly ambiguous, but the following seems to suggest they are not playing tomorrow: It's an absolute shambles.
  18. Mad decision by the consortium. If Livi refuse to play tomorrow, they deserve every sanction the SFL will throw at them.
  19. I'd like to echo those comments from my fellow Doonhamer. Hopefully Rankine, McDougall and Nixon have been working away feverishly behind the scenes and I trust something good will come of this sorry episode for Scottish football.
  20. I think this probably happens more often than you think, but if say a club was late two or three months in a row then I'd say those were grounds for the SFL to intervene.
  21. Congratulations. What a relief that must have been to finally end up with your little bundle of joy. We're now one week away from the due date. Reading your post has done little to help my blood pressure, but I will not share it with Mrs MB.
  22. I am not an Airdrie United fan, so quite why you've used words such as 'yourselves' and 'our', only you can tell me. For the record, given how late in the day this decision has been reached I think it would have been better all round if there had been a hefty points deduction for Livingston. This has possibly placed the league programme in a state of flux and has certainly made life difficult for an under-strength Airdrie squad. Airdrie are not in administration and this has everything to do with living within their means. Yes, they've struggled in the first division in recent times but I'm sure Airdrie fans would rather that than go bust chasing an unsustainable dream.
  23. I spoke with a good friend of mine who attended that game (a Rovers supporter) and he said something very similar. Despite being very pleased with the victory, it left a sour taste in his mouth. However, to be fair they did take more than 100 fans to Cliftonhill.
