Great stuff. A few things made me smile, and even do one of those proper laugh out loud things where a bit of snot shoots out of your nostril.
Anyway, looking at that last clipping... how baggy were shirts in the 90s?!
Secondly, the shirt-out-of-the-shorts look worn by Bruno reminded me of Georgie Best and Denis Law... though obviously on a slightly different level playing wise.
Which leads me on finally, as a United fan who went home and away in those days, to that snot-induced giggle at the fact his Cowden career was effectively over because he had to get back to Italy for the Inter-United game! Was this 99? if so, then lucky b*****d, cos I was stuck in college that day and on the verge of getting booting out for non-attendance due to the football just after the subsequent final that year, and missing my exams.
Funny how random tales induce such good and forgotten memories. Nice one fellas, really enjoying this mini thread of favourites
March 13th, 1999 was when the game was played. Yeah some of the shirts from this period felt a size bigger on you, lol.

Rab Shannon - those were they days. Did he not get sent off at CP in another thrashing of them? Sure it ended 4 nil that day
Yeah was the first game against East Fife the same season and it ended 4-0. Yeah Shannon got sent off, that season and the season after East Fife were a bunch of dirty b******s. Near enough got at least a sending off in every game., 3 in 1 game, ha! Did Levein no kick up a stick in the media about the Methil tinks diry tactics?

Billy Spence, Alan Mckenzie, Sandy Ross, Sumo Lamont and wee Bucks in 91/92, Mark Yardley, Graeme Brown, Keith Wright, Liam Buchanan, Pat Clarke, Gareth Wardlaw, Greg Stewart, Kane Hemmings.

Forgot about Mark 'wee Burnie' Bradley aswell.

OK, 1st choice, Markus P, Toorie, Gus Malone, John Wright. 2nd choice, Mark Mckenzie (in 2nd div champ winning season) , Colin Scott, Neil Irvine and either Gomis or Tomana. Better mention Baz McMahon as he is my oldest kids head coach, ha!

Davie Watt, Jimmy Boyle, Mark Baxter, Dean Brett, all excellent. I maybe the only one, but thought Robbie Neilson did OK when he was on loan to us from Hearts, had some long throw on him.

Remember Ross Godfrey between Hutchy and John Martin.

When I first started going to Cowden games Ray Allan had just left so never had the privilege. Did not mind Buzz Lamont and John Martin but for me has to be Davie Hay.

Whilst on the subject of not so super strikers, could anyone tell me who was Cowden's number 10 between 1998 and 2000 please
(Which is a serious question!)
98/99 was worn by various players, Ally Hamilton, Graeme Brown, Wullie Stewart and JP Burns, Toorie wore it a couple of times.
99/00 various players wore it in first half of the season Paul Simpson, JP, Broonie and Murray. 2nd half of season it alternated between Broonie and Murray with Broonie wearing it the most.

Falkingham tops the list, karma though from his fcuk up in the play off.
Fanny Pannery was a right t*t. Big Mad Dog's revenge on him was pleasing.

Was mikko Pattelainen a loan signing? Thought Robbie Neilson was ok when he was on loan from Hearts, those long throw ins he could do. Going off topic anyone remember when Pasquale Bruno did a cameo for us?

In 91/2 Neil Irvine started at 6 before a spell out with injury he returned at 4, the Colin Scott with 1 game but Dave McGovern was the regular in that number.
In 92/3 Irvine once again started at 6 before moving to Forfar. Shug Douglas was the most regular 6 that season with Nicky Henderson and Billy Herd also appearing at 6.

McGovern is a good shout but could also be big Shug Douglas. We also wore that strip the following season.
Completely forgot about Shug.

2 watt
3 robertson
4 irvine
5 Archibald
6 mcgovern
7 wright
8 malone
9 sumo lamont

It probably would have been Dave McGovern as Al says Irvine was 4 , Archibald 5, John Wright was 7 and Gus Malone 8 in 1991/2 anyway the following season not so sure.
Anyone have the old league review books kicking about, did they not have a full list of who played in what position?

Sure Eric was 5 Neil Irvine 4 so 6 would be Dave McGovern? maybe?
Was thinking Neil Irvine for some reason, but McGovern maybe a good shout.

Just seen this player shirt on ebay from 91-93. Anyone remember who the regular no.6 was in those 2 seasons?

Did Gus Malone not score his bullet header at that end in the 2-1 win over Brechin in 1991-92?
Can vaguely remeber that aswell, certain it was from a John Wright cross. Can recall who against though.

Kenny Milne who we had on loan from Hearts in the late 90's, pretty sure he ran with the ball from his own goal to the coo shed end and scored, beating half the opposition team en route. Think it was either against Berwick or Montrose. Greg Stewart's Vs Dundee in 2-0 game at Central. As for own goals scored for us, last game of 90/91 season. an Alloa player scored a diving header from our corner, any striker would have been proud of it.

Graeme Brown was like that when he first came to Cowden, he had to beef up as he was easily knocked off the ball, fast forward a couple of seasons and he could hold off defenders no bother, was rather good at it.
