  1. Whoever we play in goals on Saturday, we also need a backup keeper in case of another injury, so Antell may be on the bench at the very least. I personally would stick with Jim as he looks as if he did a good job last night.

By the way I heard a rumour that Lee Robinson is wanted by Carlisle Utd and has been training with them. Has anyone else heard this rumour?

  2. I reckon McIntyre has destroyed Antell's confidence with his crap tactics & team selections. When I saw him play in the friendly at Annan he was talking to his defence and now he just stands there & doesn't talk to the team leading to defensive chaos & mistakes like the one he did yesterday. I also get the impression that the defence have no confidence in Antell either.

Cannot agree with this, he has gone quiet cause he has lost his confidence. The system hasn't cost him the mistakes it's his ability as a goalkeeper. Trying to make excuses for the fact he is utter shite is embarrassing .

That is basically what I was trying to say. Just didn't word it very well

  3. This.

If anything, Antell has got worse as the season has progressed. So the coaching isn't actually achieving anything. How do you coach somebody not to throw the ball into their own net?

  4. That was a particularly comfortable win today, but then it wasnt a great looking Annan side.

For us, I wasnt impressed with the keeper. Im also not convinced by Dowie, Russell playing out wide or Lyle as a lone striker. Im also presuming the Higgins and McGuffie came on at left back and centre mid just for the run out, rather than with any intention to play them there.

Positives - Durnan absolutely strolled through the game. Micthell and Holt looked good, especially going forward. Young controlled the midfield well and, up front, Paton and Carmichael both looked really sharp. Paton, in particular, was impressive and his goal was an absolute peach! Hopefully, with a proper pre-season under his belt, we'll see what hes capable of next season.

Some real positives from today, some of the passing and movement was really good

I agree with most of what you say but have to disagree with your comments about the keeper & Dowie. I think although the keeper wasn't really tested he did ok with what he had to do, in the second half he was virtually a spectator. The same could be said about Dowie, thought he looked fairly comfortable alongside Durnan, I think they will be first choice this season & will get better the more they play together.

  5. Think I'm the only one who doesn't want Rab Douglas. Nothing against the man and sure he wouldn't let us down but would prefer an up and coming goalkeeper. Seen Grant Adam a few times for the Scottish under 21's and always seemed quite decent. Would be happy with that signing,

I'm with you mate. Reckon we need someone younger who will be there s bit longer than 6 months. Wasn't impressed with Douglas the last time I saw him play.

  6. It says on the QOS website that Leishman was a Sports Scientist. What exactly does a Sports Scientist do? Do we really need one?

A lot of fitness work, monitoring the players and making sure they are following their programs he makes up. Yes, we need one, he was the reason the squad were in such good shape last season.

Thanks for the info. We'll need to be fitter playing against better teams this season, so I think we need to get a replacement.

  7. Leishman tweeted last week that he'd left to follow Johnston and Clark. I'd imagine most of the backroom staff will go

Eta.... Leishman tweeted today that he was heading to lesser Hamden after Killie training to watch queens today

  8. I have been in the pub with my good lady since 3 pm today and I am glad to say the alcohol has made me forgotet how bad things are Palmerston. I have to say things are looking like bad days of Harkness. :(

Willie Harkness had his faults but I don't think the club was ever in much debt when he was the chairman. I think David Rae has ruined the club, we need to get him out before he finishes the club off altogether.
