  1. At the start of the season all of us would be over the moon with our campaign so far and shows how far we have come when we are so annoyed with only our 2nd league defeat.

The one thing Murray and Potter done at the start of the season was provide quality to the squad and depth. The two things missing from our squad is outright pace and directness and pure aggression. Kia Fotheringham isn't the best player in the league but causes problems due to his pace.

Scott Brown is a very good midfielder but we still lack that aggression in the middle of the park and also lack aggression in the back 4.

Rumours so far Halliday, if we can afford him would be good, Thomas may not be the most liked but causes us and other teams issues. Would love to see Tiffoney come but can't see it and Ashcroft who will be attracting interest from several clubs.

Onto next Saturday who knows will be in our defence as we will be missing Millen and possibly O'Reilly and we have had no recent update about Watson other than he's now visible warming up.

  2. At 2 nil why did Hamilton try and chest the ball into the net when he should have put his head on it.

The problem we have on Tuesday is with O'Reilly, he may not be able to play as other clubs including Arbroath will be looking for available centre halfs. Seeing as we are getting no Watson updates maybe he'll rock up at EEP.

Dunfermline look like they will have a few players out on Tuesday but we need to keep it tight in the middle of the park. Get Byrne and Brown in together, Vaughan in behind Hamilton with Mullin and Easton out wide.

Aye, that’s two performances in a row that have been really poor, and while conceding a goal from 35 yards to a substitute goalkeeper is very funny, it shouldn’t mask the fact we were quite simply set up wrong.

Other than a 15 minute spell in the second half, I didn't think we were ever in control of that game, and were a bit lucky to be a goal up at the interval.

I thought Ian Murray panicked very early last week against Ayr, and changed the system immediately when we went 3-2 down, but it felt like he panicked before kick off in this one.

Big Barry Smith vibes with the, “let’s move Lewis Vaughan further away from goal” and predictably, it really didn’t work

A 4-1-3-2 with Vaughan playing deep felt like a strange move, and despite that, we almost got away with it, despite being poor, but in all honesty we really didn’t deserve three points

Calm down, set up the players in a way which suits them, and deviate from that if we’re struggling.

Fingers crossed Stanton is back soon too, as were a far poorer outfit without him.

Lastly, and I could be in the minority here, but the Rovers fans becoming rugby-esque and applauding Ali Adams goal was by some margin the most annoying part of the afternoon.

Completely agree regarding applauding a player who got them back in the game.

  4. Murray has to take responsibility for today's result. 2 nil up basically against 10 men and we could have seen that out by bringing on Ross Matthews for one of the many attack minded players and took control in the middle of the park. This 4 1 3 2 does not work without Stanton as no one else covers the massive hole in the middle of the park.

We need to change to a 4 2 3 1. And can someone tell Millen he needs to put a foot in to stop a cross.

Is Tiffoney fast? I don't ever recall a moment where i've seen him play and burst past someone or out-sprint anyone. Though I may not be the best judge on that, people said Ethan Ross was "quick" but I always thought he looked like he was running through treacle.

In terms of January, perhaps Masson and Hannah go out on loan if we can bring someone in as cover. Personally i'd like to see O'Reilly stay on, he knows the team, he's capable and finding someone else may be harder than it looks. I don't buy the "right side, left side" arguement, you adjust to cope, no one seems to complain as much when its two right footed players in the centre of defence.

Yet Bene preferred playing on the left and so did Berra. Partick were renowned last season for quick attacking play which Tiffoney was part of.

  6. In January I'd like to see a couple of players come in. A right sided centre half to play alongside Murray. Watson will no doubt come back but will he last the season injury free.

I also agree we need a fast winger, Ayr had that the other night and he caused us no end of problems. If Tiffoney I'd available on loan we should try and get him in.

I would also put Masson out on loan if we get someone in and consider putting Matthews out for January to give him games but that's only if Byrne stays.

I know there is a lot of banter about the "biggest budget" etc and clearly United will have a much bigger budget that anyone else in the division but to claim that Rovers have young talented players on buttons is also a wild take. Euan Murray, Dylan Easton, Jack Hamilton, Aiden Connelly, Sam Stanton, Josh Mullin, Kevin Watson... you think they'll not be amongst the better paid players in the league? It would be interesting to see how much the wage bill actually is, especially compared to turnover. Not that it matters, and Raith are certainly using the money they are spending a hell of a lot better than a lot of other clubs, mine included. But to claim with a straight face that the Rovers have got to the top of the league paying peanuts for a bunch of youngsters is a nonsense.

Cracking result yesterday anyway, and makes the rest of the season very interesting. Can see United spending a few quid and getting a few loans in to make sure they get there in the end (which I think they still will, by hook or by crook) but if they lose another couple before the end of January I can see the knives being out for Goodwin.

For a start a Dunfermline fan giving other clubs advise on budgets when your chairman borrowed 10 mil and never paid it back, at the same time your club took many a small business to the wall. We also have a very good balance of players on good money and others not picking up massive wages.

We signed an 18 year old laddie from Kdy and Dysart FC. We have a third keeper, midfielder and striker all around 20 out on loan and two  19 Yr old CHs. None of these players will be on decent money. We also don't run a big squad and put an experienced pro out on loan to balance the books.

🤮 Honest tae feck, talk about delusions of grandeur and wanna be billy big timers, I bet they've got a bloody sore neck looking up at us 😂😂😂

This is Dunfermline fans all over. Again think they are far bigger than they actually are. Why would Easton or Bryne want to go down the way. Easton will probably want a shot at top league football.

Anyone else a little surprised big Dunc got Championship manager of the month over Murray?

Not surprising by the way the media have bummed him up. BBC and Sky have nothing but praise for a thug. Murray should have won November manager of the month, but I'd rather fly under the radar and keep winning games.

Promoted by a corrupt vote 🙄

Do I care, no. We got promoted, we've since moved on and upwards, whilst your team is close to disappearing out of the league setup and into football oblivion. Away and enjoy your team whilst it lasts. I certainly know I'm enjoying the football we are playing and may even see them in the top league in the next season or 2.

Won the game via a dodgy penalty and all they care about is opposition fans. It’s what you expect from a wee team that wins nothing and employs rapists.

Who the f**k are you. Your Highland League team have appointed a convicted thug as manager. Wee team that's something coming from a club that are nothing more than a bankrolled Buckie Thistle.
