Thought Sparky was MOM today. He had a tough task marking your young No7, and was booked early doors. He’s well liked by the Elgin support and has just signed an extended contract.
On the the game today, I thought Brechin were ok without having a real goal threat. Their goal came from a drop ball where the Elgin players were expecting the ball to be played back to them. Caused a lot of rage on the terraces, but within the new rules. Our keeper pulled off an outstanding save to deny Brechin a equaliser. We went up the other end and Scored the third. Nerve jangling stuff

Same level as Broxburn and Penicuik who just gubbed Cowdenbeath and Stenhousemuir.
So using your logic, he’s not good enough for you[emoji106]0 -

Really enjoyed last night. Of course Hibs were always going to be better in every aspect, but we didn’t disgrace ourselves by any means. I was actually impressed that we were still competing towards the end. Great atmosphere in the bar before and afterwards with Hibs and Elgin fans enjoying a drink together.

I'd say that the football we have had since Tom Hendry has been excellent bar the season we slipped back to the non blue flag" seaside league has been great. The appointment at this stage of Paul Hartley was a god send for the club and we really enjoyed football at it's best (in my lifetime) at the Recs.
But the constant 'secrecy' not keeping fans up to date season after season does wear thin. In the League Cup (or meaningful friendlies) to ask for full price for admission doesn't shine well on the club and I for one will not pay full price to see us play a team that could be heading back to the Highland League set up.
We are still showing this on the Official Site -Jim Goodwin at Ayr

The club can't keep the official site, so no chance of supporters being kept up to date then

Ross Maciver is on trial at Motherwell, but had been training with the squad.

We look like a much more potent squad now. I feared that we may have been heading back to the HL, however, much more positive now.

If his temperament is right, it’s a no brainier to take him back.

Apparently the heavy rain earlier this morning washed through sand to expose gravel. Ref was worried for injuries. Surely a rake a re-lay sand would have been fine? Small area no more than 10ft2

Cowden players wanted a brush an shovels, said they could sort it, but ref refused. The pitch is dry and bumpy. But no different to all games so far this pre-season and on. I used to play on tarmac!

Edinburgh will have a decent season on this showing. They dominated long periods of the second half, but lacked a threat up front. Thought No. 10, Handling? Was a standout. As for Elgin, we toughed it out, where in previous seasons we would have buckled. Delighted to get the 3 points, can’t do backs to the wall every week.

Drop balls can no longer be contested, If play is stopped, the ball will be dropped to a player on the team that last touched the ball - and where they touched it. All other players must be 4.5 yards (4m) away.
Whether they decide to give the ball back as an act of sportsmanship is up to them. If Elgin were fighting for there lives at the bottom of the league I guess I would be perfectly happy with the goal.
