  1. The new Enter Shikari album is absoloutley fantastic!! I would highly reccomend people give it a listen, it feels like a very BIG album for them and could possibly even put them into arena sized venues.
  2. I see Tony Iommi has been diagnosed with cancer. Horrible news and I wish the Iron Man all the best in his recovery.
  3. By no means was I Insinuating any of they songs bad. It was just a laughable top ten. Anyway, My top ten. 1- One 2- Master of Puppets 3- Enter Sandman 4-Nothing Else Matters 5-Unforgiven 6- For Whom the bell tolls 7- The day that never comes 8- Seek and Destroy 9- Sad but true 10- Battery
  4. Do you want a laugh? this is what our friend over at the NME thought were the ten best metallica songs http://www.nme.com/nme-video/metallica---ten-best-songs/1364140764001 Nothing from the first three albums....says it all really.
  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fq3QmtV8vT0 PHWOAR. NOSTALGIA. TEENAGE ANGST.
  6. Just thought id put up a couple of bands I found out about recently. They are a bit screamy at poiints so be warned if you dont like Abandon all ships are a bit like Asking Alexandria meet A Day to Remember, and are in my opinion pretty good, but may not be to everyones taste, but worth a share.
  7. Arghh beaten to it. However why do you think they should call it a day? They have been huge these past few years. Also Howard > Jesse
  8. Rumour doing the rounds that Howard Jones has left Killswitch Engage, and Jessie Leach may be coming back. Gutting news if true I loved big Howards voice and what he done at Killswitch was remarkable, however that being said....I would also love to see Jessie back, another great vocalist but would be weird, hearing him sing anything that Howard done.
  9. I see Dillenger Escape Plan are the support for Mastodon. Its going to be a excellent and mental night...Just hope I dont get covered in shit
  10. All this LOG talk and no mention of these gems? Deary me Edit: put up wrong video
  11. If its sheer heaviness you are looking for id reccomend "sucide season", but if your looking for heaviness but a bit of style and more power then "There is a hell believe me iv seen it there is a heaven lets keep it a secret" ( In my oppinion the best record out last year) would be the best place to start
  12. I thought every band on tonights bill were fantastic. Special mention to BMTH and Machine Head. Darkest hour are a band I hadnt heard a thing of before going, and was well impressed with the,m, they came over great. Devil Driver, in my eyes the worst band of the night ( not that this is an insult to them they were excellent just not as good as the other 3) BMTH.One of my absolute favourite bands , this was my fourth time seeing them this year alone. Worth the ticket price alone to see the reaction of all the " Metul \m/" guys. People spitting at the band throwing shoes the whole lot. However, BMTH just seemed to lap up the energy and put on a fantastic performance. I dont get the absolute hate for them however, they are heavy as f**k and are amazing live. I guess its what they get for being the poster boys of that scene. If they looked like Machine Head and put out the same music they would be loved in my oppinion Iv even seen them take the same abuse they took tonight, booing and throwing etc at their own headline show in March. Point in paying money to boo a band and throw stuff at them and leave? Machine F**KIN Head. They are easily, without a doubt THE best metal band on the planet today and one of the best if not THE best live act on the circut. To echo what the poster above said I was seeing them for the fourth time in Glasgow tonight, but tonight was just....special somehow. The crowd were insane, the band were untouchable, scarily effortless at points. Worth the money. Long live Machine head
  13. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpcz_YsOxQ8 Dug this thread out after hearing this in the cathouse last night Thought it was well teckle
  14. Is it wrong I cant stop listening to the Northern Kings? There operatic metal covers make these cold winter nights just a little bit easier. The band consits of- Jarkko Ahola from Teräsbetoni, ex-Dreamtale, Marco Hietala from Nightwish and Tarot, Tony Kakko from Sonata Arctica and Juha-Pekka Leppäluoto from Charon and Harmaja.
  15. As I said earlier I would rather they were at Sonisphere but download will have to do!!!!! At least we get to see them !!! Guess that Manowar will be there also subbing to them? If that annoucement of them playing with Sabbath is to be believed.
  16. With regards to Sabbath. They would be a excellent and world class headliner....But id rather Rammstein or Kiss or Scorpions instead at download. I dont know why, but id rather see Sabbath at Sonisphere.
  17. I see. Now I look the fool. Still, its a solid headliner. Anyone know the time of the next announcement today?
  18. Apparantly one of the guys from Manowar said on twitter that they were playing with sabbath at knebworth. I thought that might mean Soni
  19. Whats with all the negativity? Metallica on the sunday night will be a fantastic sing along to end the festival. The black album in full plus the greatest hits? Is a great set. Id also like to point out about 3 years ago I went through a period where I absoloutly despised Metallica, but prior to that they were one of my favourite bands. It was a phase where I was being abit of a " I hate any metal thats popiular and in the public eye" kind of guy. But they dragged me back into absoloutley loving them. Why? Classic and beautifully written songs( Also me realising I was being an absoloute knob ). Once the dust settles from lulu I expect everyone to go back to realising how fantastic they actually are. If Machinehead sub to Tallica or headline, plus another 1/2 fantastic headliners- say Rammstein and Maiden- This download could be a fantastic download
  20. Of course its Metallica. Lars is a guest on the show tonight. also Andy Copping said there was a twist to the announcement The two iv heard is that Lou Reed will be present. the other one is the black album in full cause its been 20 odd years since its been released?
  21. http://www.efestivals.co.uk/news/11/111012a.shtml Van Halen Cancel European tour including a date at download before it was even confirmed. Im glad they arent playing download im not a huge fan. Plus im still holding out for Machinehead, Rammstein and Sabbath......
  22. Quick question that didnt deserve its own thread. Im going to see RHCP on saturday at the SECC and I selected collect tickets from SECC box office ( Instead of the outrageous 7 pound postage). Now, can I collect the tickets before Saturday? Want to pop in on Tuesday to save pesky queing on the night. Any help would be well appreciated never box office collected before.
