  1. Being St Mirren fans, there is NO WAY that myself or Stevenson Saint could lump on a donkey with that name!!

(The St Mirren donk captain, is called John Potter / (Potsy)!!

Looked a little slower yesterday with the extra weight though, will keep a close eye on him next time he runs.

    Sound about right

  2. Just one bet

    3:30 wolves

    Gems @ 50/1

Gone e/w (just small stakes at 5 e/w, waste of 10 still lol)

    Right you are !

Edit Oh wait,I'm possibly getting you mixed up with darkie blue

    WILSON OUT!!!

  3. Good effort!

What race is Master Minded entered in at Cheltenham?

After today do u think Somersby will be a good shout for Cheltenham.....if he is there?

Queen Mother Chase I would imagine

Yes,especially if today's efforts are anything to go by. What about Big Zeb?

Looking forward to this race as imagine it could be a cracker.

  4. Anyone on Master Minded tomorrow? 4/6 nae value. Petit Robin @ 8's for me

I've went with Master Minded as one of my three bets today.....short price but just can't seep past him (had the same opinion on Kauto last week righ enough!)

Other bets are Carole's Legacy in the 1.50 at Ascot and Soldatino in the 2.55 there.

Disappointed about Haydock being off as I had a couple picked out for there. Probably saved me losing cash right enough!

Would have no confidence in Petit Robin, even Henderson's nap of the day was Masterminded.

Agree with Tanya, think Kalahari King is due a good run and is a good e/w bet.

  5. Plenty of touts about on the day (could say more, but would probably be branded racist.... f**k it....You will see no black people at Cheltenham races except for the touts, so if you have no tickets, approach a black person, they will be selling  as well as asking to buy spare tickets off you). Last year was the first year I had seen tickets still available on gold cup day at the ticket office, shows how hard the recession has hit.

Plenty of tickets still available, I ordered my 5 for the best mate stand only a few weeks ago. £35 a ticket. Generally speaking you get what you pay for. Wouldn't pay anything less then £35 on the friday unless you plan to see nothing and be miles from the winning post, beer tents etc...

Finally, plenty of gypsy's outside offering to sell lucky shit. Don't mock them like me, or else you end up with no winners and falling over a wall after the racing knocking your front tooth out, nothing to do with my 10 pints of cider but clearly a gypsy curse put on me.

ps Was at Cheltenham in November, now over £4 a pint and you will need a loan for food. Strange how you moan at £7 for a burger and chips (Luckily SS is not there to knock them out your hand) yet think nothing of sticking £20 e/w on a 40/1 shot

Oh dear,I must have very long arms to do that considering i was sitting about 6 rows behind  Complete fabrication of the story because you have lived down there too long that you can't handle your apple juice cider.

You'll be okay at Cheltenham though as I would imagine there wouldn't be many buses driving through the racecourse for you to spill your chips on.

  6. DJP, you seem to be a bit like myself in that you like to keep faith with horses you've backed in the past? A couple I'll keep an eye out for are King Fontaine and John Potts, both rarely let me down.

DJP was always betting on a horse called Bond St and a few on here followed it a few times then stopped, well I for one stopped as was fed up it performing poorly.Big price too if I remember.

Doubt if it covered his past stakes on it though.

  7. How the hell has Darkie had more posts than me! I didn't think he had posted that much in here back in his gambling days :o

Kayster better watch out, Lichtie isn't far behind!

 Find that odd myself although he did used to have about 500 posts a day so it's not surprising-bloody students. 90% 100% of his posts were losers as well

I mentioned this a few pages ago but.....

Does anyone think 10/1 for Kauto Star in the Gold Cup too big?

    Iv lumped £20 on it

Don't fancy it one bit mate so just watch it romp in. 10/1 is big though so good luck with that! It's Imperial Commander for me!

  8. Just remember that the multi-millionaires David Cameron & Gideon Osborne said "We are all in this together!" dry.gif

Not long to Cheltenham now DJP - a couple of winners there & life will be a dream again! :D

F*ck off you tart. You told the wife about the stag do yet?

  9. You're telling me. My work got bought over. Was a choice of being made redundant or taking a pay cut, so now on less then when I was 21, so the money even now was hardly that great. So kept job on shit pay over being out of work, but obviously applying for almost everything, as most of you know, not much out there. At 30 years old it is a real kick in the teeth.

Good to see this thread picking up again. I am still sure I have over 50% of posts in this thread alone

No, but you're certainly top boy  Look who's second  This thread went off for a while when all these bamsticks started posting. Will have a look at it more often now.

Never forget the day Kayster nearly tipped a fourfold at Carlisle(i think)?? and the final horse was second and the poor guy didn't get the bet on and he took it on the chin with a c'est la vie attitude. All credit to him

Shame about the job mate but its tough out there, our workforce has been slashed and all i seem to be doing is extra work that everyone else did for nothing extra. Haven't had pay cut which i am grateful for but haven't had increase for about 10 years now and used to get nice christmas bonus, that's gone so i suppose i am getting less :(

Just have to try and get through it!

  10. Lichtie, go and have a look at the very first post on this thread.

    You have some memeory :2cool

No. The original poster backed it e/w despite it being evens and an argument started over whats the point on backing a horse e/w at evens and in the end it didn't even place

And who was to think that 353 pages later this thread would still be going

  11. Havent had the time yet!!due to the heat, most meetings are in our summer/ winter there, the standard is very high with quite a few trainers/jockeys heading over to dubai on a winning/regular basis

Bollocks, you've spent too much time on the beach with the bunnies
