  1. Second dose of AstraZenica gratefully received. Just as efficient as the first time, less than 15 minutes from arrival to departure.
  2. The entire point of stations like talkRadio is to give airtime to howlers.
  3. You'll certainly be more welcome than that Arnold Rimmer wannabe who was all over this thread until George Galloway raised his fedora down Palmerston way.
  4. Unexpected praise for the bride-to-be. I had thought she was the real target in all this and that Johnson would just be collateral damage.
  5. Meanwhile, in the latest update from the Ministry of Unintentional Satire, the Prime Minister expresses concern over the use of "deceitful behaviour" by an individual for personal gain Diana interview: PM concerned after inquiry into BBC deceit - BBC News
  6. Here's where things will inevitably fall apart in my organisation. There is already a desk booking system in operation for people who need to attend buildings where they don't routinely work for meetings etc. It is regularly ignored, particularly by senior management who don't seem able to organise their schedules properly and are more than willing to pull rank. One of my colleagues has tried to go through the system a number of times and arrived at the "booked" desk only to be told "go and find somewhere else then". I'll stick to home for the foreseeable - put me into the above scenario and I'd be looking at a disciplinary hearing at the absolute minimum.
  7. Even better when you read that wikipedia entry and see that his family are indeed from the Congo.
  8. I had a colleague some years back who came from a fairly wealthy family and clearly didn't want for much. They must have been concerned about her developing a work ethic so she arrived in the workplace as a member of an admin team whose pay was at the bottom end of the company's scale. Every year, in the run up to Christmas, the usual office conversation took place about possible venues for a Christmas meal. In a remarkable show of solidarity with her fellow workers, on an average salary below £10k (this was early to mid 2000s), her suggestion was always One Devonshire Gardens.
  9. You think he might have twigged that at least half of those reserving tickets were called Hugh Jarse (judging from what I’ve read on Twitter). Mike Oxmells hasn’t bought one yet afaik.
  10. I'd like to think that "When you are so poor at your job I will personally attack you" is a phrase which will be thrown back at him on a regular basis when he's running the line next season. Ideally from the technical areas as well as the crowd.
  11. It’s a pity they retained the Orkney and Shetland seats. The thought of Rennie and ACH holding their parliamentary group meetings in a phone box halfway up the Royal Mile is an amusing one.
  12. Kelly had forcing her resignation as one of his campaign pledges on a leaflet which arrived through my door. He was a bit light on the detail of how he was going to deliver this promise though. Good to see that the 4 SNP votes from this household haven't gone to waste. Hopefully the 4 Green list votes will have a similar outcome.
  13. State of that front door. Oh and that c**t too, obviously.
  14. Judging from this and other pictures I’ve seen of DRoss over the weekend, he must have been told to drop the aggressive posturing and go for the grinning idiot routine instead.
  15. And right on cue, here she is https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-56884545
  16. There hasn’t been a single Tory Prime Minister in my lifetime (Heath onwards) who has left on their own terms. Hopefully Johnson continues that trend. As for the headline, it’s probably the one on the right.
  17. Second best thing to come out of Irvine. The best thing to come out of Irvine is the A737. (ps I was born in Irvine)
  18. After it was announced that we'd be working at home till at least June, there was a lot of chat and suggestions that the organisation should open a whole load of smaller offices across the Central Belt for the benefit of those who prefer office life. It seems to have escaped their notice that said offices did exist and have been closing over the last 5 years as leases expired.
  19. I'm not sure that's what's meant by "organising a coup" but crack on anyway.
