This is what I was thinking, but with MOH for Crawford. I think we've looked most threatening with them both on the pitch, Gallagher and McCrorie won't be able to handle them. If Motherwell can dismantle the Aberdeen defence with Van Veen and Watt then they'll do well.

Think Booth might be back which is good for the bench but can't say he should be starting ahead of Devine.

Would be surprised if Callum starts E2 though, going by the Melamed experience last year. I think he'll have a few cameos off the bench first. Expect Kane to start instead. Also think he'll want to play Crawdford, possibly in for Davidson given Muzz hasn't played for a few games.

First time in a while we've got some real options, particularly if Bryson is back to fitness.

    2-1 to Saints, E2 and Rooney (32).

8-1 for a Saints win and  BTTS!

Honestly not that unlikely that there's just the sell-on % tbh. There certainly won't be add-ons for certainties like more caps for some diddy outfit like NI, or a handful of first team appearances. I'd say unless Preston massively overperform (i.e. get promoted) or he ends up there for years and makes 150 appearances you're very unlikely to make any further serious money unless they sell him on for a fortune. Hoping that there's enough to take it above 2 million before sell on is dreaming imo.

Also, while of course you're restrained by who actually bids for someone, Preston is a really dodgy club to be looking for big money sell-ons from. Have almost zero record of selling midfielders, or anyone besides strikers, for decent money in the last 10 years and are as likely to go back down as they are to go up. V strange choice from McCann if he has pushed for it, he could just as easily turn into the next Liam Kelly as the next McLean or McGinn if he gets stuck there.

Yep I agree could badly back fire on him as Preston could easily go down this season.Should have waited for a better move for him and the club IMO

    No excuse to stand still.

2014 they done the exact same. Have some success, sit back and relax, lose best player in the very next window and have to panic loan some dross in.

We've literally just repeated the same mistake all over again, except with two players this time.

Fingers crossed it works out this time, but we've just chucked away a position of strength we'll never be in again.

It felt like we were on the cusp of greater things. The fans were returning and there was a buzz about the club thats all been completely undone now.Gutted

F*ck me, wouldn’t be deadline day without Saints fans going into meltdown.

Looking on the bright side, the day is still young and as it stands we haven’t lost any of our top players.

Oh and last time I checked Ali Crawford was a cracking wee player who pulled the midfield strings for Hamilton. How can this be a bad signing?

He's the best we are going to get i'm afraid. What do folk from our wee club?

The desperation of St Mirren fans to claim Middleton has been shite for us is really bizarre.

He was quite easily our biggest threat last night, and the only reason we were still in the tie was because he created a goal from nothing in the first leg.

Literally every chance we had last night was from him finding space in the box, while he hit double figures for completed passes.

His issue is more down to the fact Booth offers nothing to help him, Murray Davidson offers nothing to help him, Kane offers nothing to help him, and MOH offers nothing to help him. Against LASK he was generally left isolated against 3 defenders and expected to create something.

Like a lot of our players he was fucked after 70 minutes, but then again he'd played 350 minutes in 11 days when we reached that point.

Apart for when Kane hooked it back for Middleton to have our best chance of the night though

Haven’t seen the Spoony incident properly yet, but it seems that he has fucked up by all accounts. I’d extend the blame to Callum Davidson who took far, far too long to change anything. It was obvious to see that the players were tiring and we needed reinforcements. He was about to bring on Spoony, then seemingly changed his mind because we looked threatening for about ten seconds. Cue Spoony being raging and arguing with Callum. Then we concede a goal and Callum FINALLY decides to bring on a raging Spoony. Too little, too late. Both at fault.

Totally agree.Took way to long too to get Spoony on which increased his frustration

  7. I think we need to have Gordon playing to stand any chance so here's hoping he`s fit enough to play.Would maybe start with Spoony and use Glen as an impact sub which has certainly worked before to great effect.Anyway all very exciting. Lets try and create an electric atmosphere and make this another special place in our clubs history.COYS !!!
