So they have been invited to a SPFL competition with no Bronze license? At least they could be consistent with their decisions. I’ve no axe to grind with any of the clubs being invited, it just seems to be inconsistent decision making by the SPFL, further evidenced by the fact they didn’t invite last year’s LL runner up, Stirling Uni.
Be even more interesting given there are midweek fixtures in that competition and Buckie don't have floodlights

Aaron Muirhead is a significantly better player than Sean McGinty.
In an instantly forgettable match yesterday a particularly low point was BBG getting the ball flicked over his head and then controlled by McGinty as BBG carerred off the pitch

Now you're asking. Would have to check. There have been a few draws, but....
So I did go back and check. 27th January!

Rob Roy 2 Meadow 2
Four goals, should be a great game eh?
It wasn't. Roy scored early doors, Meadow equalised just before HT and went 2-1 up with a couple of minutes to go. The Roy managed to force in a late leveller. Standard throughout poor.
There are still plenty of points to be won, but if we can't get past the basement club, how are we to get anything out of Talbot or Darvel?
Just cos I can't be arsed going looking. When did the rabs last win a league game? I seem to remember them having a decent start but that was a long time ago!

We very much looked like we were at 80% max. Thought by his very admittedly high standards fitzy struggled to get into the game today. We had the best chances, how BBG nor Jason scored in the first half is beyond me. Ayr could have been one up after a few minutes where McBeth hacked one off the line from a corner. Definitely be resting BBG, Muirhead and if we could McMillan on Friday but unlikely to be able to.

So it costs the premiership clubs £1.2M per year for 228 games in a league season. That’s just over £5000 per game on average. But the championship club has to pay double ?
Will largely be for set up costs which the prem clubs don't require I'm guessing?

It is / was an idea that the SFA have made a complete hash of since its conception
Hate to jump in on the SFA bashing here but my understanding is that it's the spfl that require this license criteria. Not the SFA. Sure they set the standards for the criteria and assess a request but nowhere do they dictate they are required for league 2 access

If Airdire get pumped on Friday night I would be tempted to protect key players and give the youngsters a bit more match time in prep for the playoffs .
Absolutely this. I don't even think a pumping is in order, a defeat by 2 goals and I'd be comfortable. Strangely I just don't see us losing on Saturday

We should be looking to League 1 & 2 for players who would comfortably make the step up to the championship and fit into our style of play.
I'm not for a minute suggesting we shouldn't do this but look at the recent examples where we've done this. Lyons, Dowds, MacIver, Charlie Reilly. We've not had a huge amount of success. Milne and Turner are obvious exceptions. I think it's just too simplistic to say that is what we should be doing, we should be looking all over for the best available player not only trying to discover players who might make it.

Well to be honest I would have been going but you have an old firm game on and then Liverpool v Man Utd game on the same day and the wind is still mental outside. It would have been so different if those games were not on
Which is fine for a neutral but EK sold out a game against Hamilton earlier this season so for them to not show up now is poor

A decent point today all things considered. Next week is huge irrespective of Airdrie's result during the week. Would bite your hand off now for a point.

Wouldn’t say anyone has an easy run in, hopefully stenny have the league won by the time they come to us and east fife can’t get play offs either.
Surely, Stenny will be home and hosed by the time any of you face them which throws a slight curve ball? I think if Stranraer can avoid defeat to you on Saturday then they have marginally the least difficult run in.

I tell you something. If John-Lewis was investigated after the Taylor Catterall fight then Foster should be getting investigated for scoring that 9 rounds to Clarke, that's a shocker.

That Foster card is wild though when you take the knockdown and point off
