Out of curiosity I've just checked where FC Zurich are in the Swiss League atm. They're bottom. Last. 10th of 10.
Why do other SPFL fans put such low expectations on their own teams? Hearts should be beating the bottom club in Switzerland.
You say should be beating, but they have a higher budget than Hearts. I get the fact they're not having a good season so far but "should"?

Istanbul is one of the best cities i've ever visited, but i'm not sure about going there for a football match. The other two are very appealing.

There will be 18000 Hearts fans there at most. I dont really care, but its just so "hearts" to lie about everything related to size.
A psychologist would have a field day with you lot..........................
You really don't care. That's why you're on a Hearts thread trying to make something of hibs having a few hundred extra seats.
Yeah you really don't care.

Honestly, when will some people learn.
Zurich very much have the advantage and it will only take 1 goal from them to kill the game. There is absolutely no point in getting excited for Hearts yet. I fully expect another Scottish let down next week, maybe a first half Zurich goal to make it 3-1 and leave Hearts chasing the game. I won’t be surprised if Hearts indulge in a bit of shite defending and concede a cheap goal. They shite it on the big occasion and play negative football. Another miserable result for a Scottish diddy side. I want to be wrong though. I want Hearts to come out to a cauldron of noise and make the Tynecastle advantage count. I want them to become the first diddy team since Aberdeen in 2008 to get to the group stage. I’m just not getting my hopes up about it.This is an accurate assessment.. We have a chance but Scottish "diddy" teams are not known for taking their chances.

You couldn't possibly know this, as we play in different divisions.
It's like the difference between an Inbox and Spam Folder in an email account..
You notice the ones in the Inbox and they are easily read, but it's always the ones in the Spam Folder that do the damage.
United weren't very good but they'd leather lower league s**e like Dundee.

Thats not what he said.
There are countries where clubs survive on relatively small attendances by virtue of having much higher commercial and sponsorship income. e.g. Norway, small teams with fairly poor crowds get by no problem - even with very cheap tickets (I paid £10 for a ticket to a match there).
Many Scottish teams rely on gate income for a higher %age of their income - which is why you have the riduculous pricing for Cat A matches (e.g. the derby next week costs £35 for a walkup ticket in the middle of the East).
Yo just need to look at the changes in pricing for our matchday hospitality to see what @Tommy Tappin is getting at.
I hope that makes it clearer, simpleton.
Thanks for clearing things up. You're a pretentious w****r, it was pretty clear before but much clearer now.
More power to Ron, he's doing a fine job.

Things aren't great at Hibs but nowhere near as bad as the bedwetters make out.
Unpopular facts:
Bushiri is statistically our best defender so far.
Kensall is doing a superb job commercially and is wiping the floor on that score with anything Saint Dempster achieved.
RG is spending millions of his own money, not going for cheap options. Marshall and McGeady weren't on pennies last season either.
But I think the one thing for the conspiracy theorists to actually watch out for, is that I genuinely think it's Ron's plan to make Hibs attractive to Edinburgh's elite and to price the working class out of watching us as far as he can.
I think he's sick of the relentless negativity, the shitty attendances and he knows they're not going to provide the money long term anyway, because they haven't got any.
He's wanting to take Hibs to the prawn sandwich brigade and he's dropped a few clues now that he's going to change the mindset of the club/fanbase even if the results don't change it for him.
So he's going to increase the "shitty attendances" by pricing the working class out?
Sounds like a plan.

A combination of Sky and Bosman pretty much ended competitive leagues.

Did Levein no do that in about 2005? Remember being in some hearts club in Merchiston and cheering the Basle equalizer , safe to say not the wisest move.
Aye he did. But bumming up everything is the way forward for every club.

Gid signing. Me no likey.
How's it a historic season though?
I think they might be talking about group stage European football. Historic is definitely pushing it if that is what they're on about.

I've read that MTK have some sort of partnership with Liverpool. Are these signings somehow tied in with the Ramsay deal?

I've not seen anybody say anything about we were always going to lose. Losing is always a bad result and they were beatable but it's nonsense to suggest we lost because of a "defeatist attitude". Is that why Celtic get knocked out regularly by teams with smaller budgets?
