  1. Agree with everything above, surely he didn't have the success with St. Mirren changing formation every bloody week. Doesn't matter if players have a week to work on it, but were changing it for every team in the league, its another one for players to work on. 3-6-1 just doesn't make sense for me, never seen a 6 man midfield, never likely to again either.... 4-5-1 was played against ayr and to some success although against poorer opposition, why would you think playing 3 in defence would suit a superior team in dundee? Just don't get it at all
  2. I really wanted McPherson as our manager, but i now think he fills us with bullshit and thinks we don't have a clue. Some of his signings, as much as people say we have no money, have been very poor. To say simmons is SPL standard in itself is baffling. Then like posts above say, his formations are really odd, at home to Ayr and were playing 4-5-1? and if reports are true from yesterday, then its another one onto the list. Be interesting to see what he has to say tomorrow night at AGM
  3. He certainly did try to shoot down trust but was shot down himself in process. Just a thought likes, he was rumoured to be asked before sure he attended one of our games v falkirk. Just with it looking likely off changes in top seat might suit, the old pals act
  4. or one of Hewitson mates? who was asking all the questions last AGM
  5. would think Mr Hewitson will take up chairman position, maybe someone else move onto the board to replace rutherford?
  6. Certaintys you'd imagine, along with Jim Thomson you'd imagine
  7. He definetly does take me huffs throwing his arms about...
  8. someone commenting that not much talk of game yesterday, We did alright at times a thought we looked good then five minutes later we'd look very vulnerable in defence. Both goals were very decent and taking well, we also had a few more chances, which is promising. There goal was a brilliant finish, couldn't believe some nutter beside me in terracing trying to blame McKenzie (who again did nothing wrong), Mark Campbell oozes class at centre half, Simmons keeps ball and sprays it about very well, McLaughlan is very similar but not scared to get his foot in and upfront Smith looked decent but sometimes just needs to let ball go a wee bit earlier, wee Dan was very good again... has to be one of first names on team sheet! Like gus says on os, its brand new team, going to take time for it all to work, and he's not papering over cracks he knows theres room for improvement hopefully we can get it. Livingston next week is looking like a very difficult test, they've had some high scoring wins and a great preseason
  9. Correct SD, not wholesale changes like ourselves....i'm kind of hoping rumours are true that ryan has went back to ayr to train, as we need a creative spark in midfield rather than anything else.
  10. Lets not jump to conclusion after one game, i like everyone was disappointed with saturday, but Gus seems to have seen the same game as us and knows the problems, lets give him a chance to rectify the flaws from saturdays performance christ it was the first game for the team together, we'll have a couple of additions hopefully to come in (attacking midfielders please ). Lets be honest i can't see us conceding a lot atm, even with saturdays final score line, during the 90 we never had a terrible lot to deal with...but as an attacking threat were needing either more width or a man floating behind strikers as a link for me
  11. I thought our defence for 90 minutes was pretty solid, two lapses in extra time are slightly worrying but first game i hope its just a bit of rustiness. Midfield are so defensive is pretty scary, not much attacking threat or spark in there, i hope its something gus sorts out, as it's badly needed, not really much to comment on strikers i think the lack of creativeness is going to effect them. I just hope it's something we rectify, as the initial night mins wasn't terrible, there was some positives..although i think after saturday somerset is somewhere we can pick up 4/6 points in league as i don't think there upto much, but they are probably saying same about us!
  12. If that's good, i give up torture McPherson get a grip
  13. Iain Scott not have something to do with newcastles youths also, cracking coach, just couldnt cut it as his own man!
  14. Really need to get over this DW chat, he's gone...plenty better have left with minimal fuss!
  15. Quite obviously doesn't rate him or doesn't see a place for him in his squad
  16. I think this also, but had two texts this morning saying he's on loan till december, i also spotted on daily record website..Tom Brighton set to sign so obviously right
  17. I Definetly agree with your point of view Mr X, I see him the right wing after last year...could do with his creativeness in midfield, if he doesn't looks like we'll be going with 4 centre mids in midfield which would suggest a narrow, compact midfield. Maybe looking for full back to get forward god knows, we'll see what happens i guess!
  18. I know that's just a guess, but from what i hear, he see's Dan C upfront not on the wing, i've heard this from at least 3 or 4 people now. It makes sense for him to be a winger, dont get me wrong it's where i'd have him in the current squad we have, if he's no there i don't see much threat coming from the midfield. It'll be very industrious, but no flair or creativeness for me if hes not in although peterhead fans seem to rate nicky clark but then again they said not on the wing, so maybe we'll see us shaping up in a 3-5-2 although Gus did state at forum it'll be 4-4-2 but looking at the players we have, we probably suit a 3-5-2
  19. Just from conversations with people, in and about the club, if signings come of obviously untrue, i tend to agree with you with the left midfield, its what i was hoping we were going to add, perhaps would have been a better move than Ryan McCann who seems to cover positions we have cover for...like you say we have a lot of utility men and a squad maybe not as small as i certainly was led to believe it would be, plus we have a few promising youngsters, coming through hopefully that come in and make there mark!
  20. think he will be played on wing blueone, pretty happy if the rumours of the 4 players signing are true, i'm taking it that means no mccusker though? or were going to be well over the supposed squad of 12 and 2 keepers, that had be rumoured. This still having young boys to add on, so could if signings are true, that we will have a decent sized squad for the campaign which is pleasing
  21. Hoping for a striker still, i'm pretty happy with what is left in defence tbh...its the wings i think were lacking if wee dan is going to be a striker! and a goalkeeper is pretty much essential, hoping for lee robinson
  22. Pretty happy with defence...if we shape up McGuffie Reid Campbell Higgins, i'll be pretty sound with that. We know what were getting from Ryan and reidy very reliable players. Campbell from what i've seen (one game) is going to be an asset and tbh i haven't seen enough of higgins regularly to take judgement but by reports he should be fine. Midfield we have a lot options in middle not entirely skillful or going to create much, but very hardworking...on the wings, the way people are talking Dan C is going to be upfront, so were still lacking a winger for me, and i'm supposing Nicky Clark is a winger, who i dont know much about but here's hoping. Striker wise it looks like wee Dan, Smith and to be confirmed if McCusker/Brighton will be our other striker, pretty strong uptops would like to see Brighton sign, looked alot better for us than he did Stirling last year and banged in a good few goals during preseason. Forgot Keeper but everyone knows we need one! Pretty happy with how things are shaping up hopefully over next day or 2 we'll be sorted for the new season. Looking forward to Ayr now!!!!
