Really disappointed with the squad at this stage. I thought there'd be far more ins and outs.
Feel for McGlynn really. Hope the Rennie nonsense last window hasn't fucked it for him in the summer.
Still plenty of time to get it right in the next few weeks but there's a shitload of wheeling and dealing needed.
We're miles away from where we need to be to win this league, which is quite deflating.
We’re not the only ones though both Dunfermline and Airdire are miles short, Montrose squad at the moment is weaker than last season and Kelty have not strengthened yet either.0 -
For a glorious minute there I forgot all about Brad McKay.

Be interesting tomorrow to see what line up and formation McGlynn goes with. I'm not sure what I want from this game obviously a win but in terms of personnel if some of those with coats on a shoogly peg have a decent game will it cause a rethink by McGlynn if he was thinking of jettisoning a few..
I think our team pretty much picks itself at the moment. All depends if Coll Donaldson is fit and if not Leon McCann plays instead.
PJ
Williamson
Donaldson
Henderson
Mackie
Hetherington
McGinn
Morrison
Nesbitt
McGuffie
Oliver
With McCann and Yeats the only 2 actual options on the bench.1 -
That’s just Charlie Telfer surely?

This c**t just been reading through the thread and popping up random names we’ve been talking about?
They’re going to have a lot of fun when they get to the Ethan Ross stuff.3 -
Tis what I was thinking. Not heard or seen him do much since he left. Would prefer ugwu over him, although a season on loan in a lower league might do him some good [emoji2371][emoji2371]
Scored 7 in 18 games in his 6 months with us and has got 15 in 115 since he left.0 -
If he is anything like the player he was last time then he would be superb in this league.
Question is would he fit the formation? Think mcglynn would prefer a tall target man up-front hence Ugwu
I think he’s been pretty much broken since he left us. He’s nowhere close to the same player that played with us unfortunately.0 -
We knew it was happening but still can't help but feel disappointed to see Kabia sign on loan with Morton. Hatrick inbound on Saturday.
One tackle from Mackie and he’ll be rolling about the floor greeting wanting to get subbed off.6 -
Absolutely this ^.
To get out the group, imho, we’ll need a minimum of a point from Morton or Hibs plus 6pts from the Bonnyrigg & Clyde games.
You might occasionally get out of the groups with 8 points but you really need 9 points plus.0 -
Got a feeling we may see him at right wingback.
Nah can’t see McGlynn wanting to change from his preferred formation to a back 3.0 -
He’ll be 3rd choice best on Saturday as Oliver and Morrison will play there before him or Malcolm.
If we were to put Morrison up front though then that leaves nobody else to play wide. As it stands Wilson is genuinely our second choice striker. I’m confident that by the end of the window at least he’ll either he well down that pecking order or fucked of to some other unlucky club. But unless we bring someone in the next couple of days there’s a decent chance of him getting some game time on Saturday which is terrifying.0 -
That ugwu by any chance??
Ethan Ross mate.0 -
Is Kai Kennedy no quite shite? He’s had 3 or 4 loan moves to the Championship and apart from a few months at Inverness been pretty anonymous. Still probably better than Nesbitt mind.0 -
Furthermore, Liam Henderson was one of the scorers
Trialist #13 the other.1 -
Holt clearly just being binned now because Ethan Ross has demanded the number 13 shirt. Surely just a matter of time now.

Not for me.
I've been watching him for around a year and in my (admitttedly inexpert) opinion he's a cracking player. He's easily the pick of the bunch that Ian Fergus signed and has as much potential at his age that Kingsley and Fulton had. Seriously. An
There's no guarantees of course. He might not develop as expected, he might not apply himself, he might be unlucky with injuries. Young players are always a gamble.
One poster on here who has football connections messaged me some time back to ask about him, saying that all the big clubs were keeping an eye on him. I found out that was true at one game when a guy asked me for teamlines and it turned out he was a Man Utd scout there to see Carroll.
I rate the guy very highly and would have been raging if we hadn't signed him.
Now he has his chance and it's up to him to prove he's worth it.
That’s all absolutely fair enough and glad it looks like I’m wrong. On the face of it with no background knowledge did seem to be a signing similar to Weekes/Lemon/Williamson but if he’s actually been signed because he’s got something to add and not just to fill a jersey on the bench then all the better.2 -
Your jobber signed to pad the squad out more than likely.

I can't be certain but is that Harry Burgoyne playing as trialist for Peterhead in their defeat to Dundee at the weekend [emoji165]
Think it’s actually Ethan Ross.14 -
What’s your opinions on Charlie Telfer currently on trial at us ?
Absolute shitebag. He’s definitely got talent but he’s got a tendency to drift in and out of games. Drops too deep to get on the ball and he’s not nearly effective playing so deep and like I said he’s a massive shitebag.0 -
Been given names of a couple of strikers coming in on loan, not sure on the quailty of the source though.
Brian Graham and Euan Henderson.
The source must be a lot of shite. There’s absolutely not a chance of Brian Graham coming on loan to us. He was Thistles top scorer last season and he’s still their first choice striker along with Dowds. I could see us going for Henderson as he’s not going to be getting game time at Hearts but the idea of Brian Graham is nonsense.0 -
Ethan Ross played a blinder apparently
He absolutely ran the show. Got himself 2 assists as well. Only a matter of time now imo.5 -
Sibbs and Ethan Ross. What a fucking midfield we’re going to have btw.

Yellow Falkirk away tops are always better imo.

You sure he is? Pretty sure he's still under contract at Raith. He played for them in the friendly last night
Yeah like Trump said he’s come on as a sub in both our friendlies so far and he’s ran the show both times. He was a bit tired on Tuesday with it being his 3rd game in 5 days.
I expect he’ll be used to model the away top if it gets released tomorrow.1

I think we’re about 5 short at the moment. Another right back, another player in the middle of the park, some cover out wide and 2 strikers.
