BBC Scotland reporting D3 for Newco?
0 -
Even the claim that 28% went through tunstyles because of Rangers is hopelessly flawed.
They went through those turnstyles because Rangers were PLAYING SOMEONE.
That's where the diddies come in. If there weren't others, no Cups could be won and there'd be no leagues to finish at the top of. Even these priceless OF games only matter in the contxt of bigger competitions. People Like McLeish need to be challenged on such dishonest distortions.
Indeed. Ibrox was pretty empty the weeks there were no games on.

I'm still a little confused. Are the 'Rangers' fans still withholding season ticket money from Green in the hopes Brown will rescue the club? If so, are they going to relent once the season starts? If not, what difference does it make to them what league Sevco are in? Particularly if the suggestion that Ticketus owns Ibrox is true.

How about this scenario
1) SPL clubs vote 'no' to transfer SPL share from oldco to newco
2) SFL clubs vote 'no' to newco entering into division 1
3) oldco gives share back to SPL, pending liquidation
4) SPL has a unoccupied share
5) SPL clubs vote to give the share to newco
Far fetched?
Is it not on record that the SFA would veto any move to put Rangers in the SPL?

I have always assumed that an outright "no" to league football for sevco would just result in an existing league club being bought over and rebranded as "Rangers" ASAP - surely nothing to stop that happening?
The fact they have no money might be a stumbling block.

Embdy else considered the fact that newco just might not get enough votes "to enter the SFL"?
Is that possible? Then they'd become the Govan Globetrotters.
Even Clyde are voting yes to Res (i), so that won't happen unless they are suspended or go bust again.

Sad thing is that's the exact message that Doncaster and Regan are sending out.

The SFL really should be consulting lawyers now about how to get their £2m.

Rangers are a disgrace. They are destroying the game we all love and if we don't do something to stop them they'll ruin the sport for generations to come.
Jim Traynor Sep 2010
He was trying to be sarcastic when he said that.

This. The transferring of punishment is the only half-reasonable excuse that any Orc has to claim they still follow the same team and retain their history. Let them start at the bottom with no attachments and they don't have a leg to stand on in the future.
I'd rather they went in to D3 with no immediate sanctions, but were subject to punishments for dual contracts if that is subsequently proven and subsequent to whatever the supposedly independent tribunal assesses as a fitting punishment. They should also be punished for raising the Court of Session action.
Other than that, no punishments.

Berwick Rangers Supporters Trust is to meet on Wednesday to formulate a position - that isn't big news, but the statement includes downloads of BOTH documents the SFL clubs are consulting on. One is the bulletpoint list of financial etc. items, but the other is the proposed governance structure of a united body. I don't think it's been in public domain previously?
http://www.berwickrangers.org/sfl-newco-proposals/
Main features:
* SPL is renamed SPFL, and SFL wound-up
* 12 clubs in SPFL Premier hold 'A' shares; 30 clubs in SPFL Championship, League One, League Two hold 'B' shares
* Qualified Resolutions require 11-1 majority of A shares, where affecting them; and 3/4 of B shares, where affecting them
* otherwise 8-4 majority of A shares; 2/3 majority of B shares
* Main Board comprises Chairman, CEO, 3 Premier reps, 2 lower-level reps, 2 independent directors
* Chairman + 1 independent appointed by Premier clubs; 1 independent appointed by other clubs
* Operational Board One deals with Premier + Championship... Chairman, CEO, 2 Premier reps, 1 Championship rep
* Operational Board Two deals with League One + League Two... Chairman, CEO, 2 League One reps, 1 League Two rep
It strikes me, on first reading, that this is somewhat weighted towards SPFL Premier clubs. Not particularly equitable.
Anything with 11-1 in it is worthless in my opinion.

Not sure if anyone has told him Servco1690 are banned from Europe for 3 years.
They're not banned. They're just not eligible to play because they're a new club.

Brechin still in the 'we're saying f*** all' camp but the following quote worries me:

Anyone else read that as 'the money for the club is more important' or am I just being a bit negative?
What money for the club?

Statement from Ayr United - sounds like we'll do the right thing:

This looks a bit more hopeful if there's anything in it, from the Express though..
They're just going from Gilmour's comments.

I wonder what chaos would lie ahead with regards to promotion / relegation. Surely this would give the following options:
1) Every one of the 2012/13 SPL teams is guaranteed safety this season, making the league a joke when you thought self-preservation couldn't get any worse.
2) The team in 11th gets relegated and TWO sides get promoted from SFL1 to make it a league of twelve again in 2013/14, making the upcoming First Division a rather tasty prospect.
... or am I having a dim moment and there's another way around this?
First Division champions go up, playoff between 2nd and SPL 11th?

I have already emailed Ayr and demanded that they refuse membership to any Newcorpse except to Division 3. Lachlan Cameron is in Barbados sipping his Pina Colada. Apparently.
Or in other words have got the square root of f**k all back.
I've had no reply from Ayr either.

Enjoy your trips to Albion Rovers, Annan and Berwick next season
Albion Rovers will be devastated. Why are you relegating them?

So The Edinburgh Evening News has got it from the Horses Arse that the new consortium HAS NOT PAYED THE PLAYERS THIS WEEK, and that's before the meeting, is there a football fan from any club who believes these Clowns are deserving in any way of a place in Div 1?
Yes. Livi with 10-20 point penalty > alternative.

But they can't vary contracts without consent of the players, so if they won't pay the contract price they're risking constructive dismissal tribunals.
