  1. Sky's Soccer Saturday is pretty bad for it, and there are plenty of examples where there's been sufficient space.  A quick Google search picks up on the Ayr and Oxford Utd below, for example:
    report-sky-have-selected-their-first-soccer-saturday-panel-of-the-new-season.jpg
In that specific example, I'd think it could be because Oxford City may occasionally appear on the vidiprinter, whereas (thankfully) there's only one Ayr.
  2. I was at school. Honestly can't remember if anyone was aware of anything happening over in the US or not the last hour or so of the day, but I remember my dad (who was a teacher at a different school) got home before I did (a rarity) and we watched the news for hours afterwards.

Eight years later, I was working in a call centre in Glasgow and a lassie I worked with (wid, but not very bright) asked if we were having a minute's silence to commemorate the 8th anniversary of it happening. Despite her protests that we worked in a (relatively) tall building and should do so, no minute's silence was held.

  3. While I'm sure we're all excited ahead of the Scotland game tonight, that is dwarfed by the excitement at the start of the 2022/23 Eesti Karikas this evening.

Only one first round tie this evening as Tallinna Wolves II take on Flora III. Wolves II lost 14-0 to FC Cosmos in the Väike Karikas (Small Cup) so Flora's third string side have probably already put a few goals past them. Albeit losing 14-0 against an entire cosmos is perhaps respectable given the billions upon billions of players they must be able to select from.

The most likely cricket score I can see thus far is in one of the second round ties already confirmed between two teams drawn a bye in round one as top flight Nõmme Kalju visit local minnows Jalgpallihaigla in July.
Kalju letting my prediction down by only beating Jalgpallihaigla 23-0
  4. Good weekend for Tallinna JK Legion in the Estonian Cup as their second team defeated Vana Hea Puur 10-1 on Friday, with the first team then sticking 14 without reply past Vastseliina Tannem. Quite the tanning.

Frankly though, both results and several other high single figure scuddings were overshadowed by this season's most merciless entrants thus far Harju JK Laagri of the second tier Esiliiga demolishing EstHam United 29-0.

  6. I’m also in credit. My usage last month was £70 less than my direct debit. My usage has been even less this month. And that’s after I argued them down by £30 a month.
The big question is when will these companies let you drop your direct debit to reflect the government support that’s coming? The cost of living won’t actually ease until you don’t have to pay as much out every month as you currently have to.
Is there anything stopping you from cancelling your direct debit and to just pay manually every month for what you use?

I paid 39 quid today for my last month's gas/electricity usage (1 bed flat). On my account the suggested DD amount was £105. Even without the £400 quid government support, I doubt monthly average over the next 12 months will be more than £70.

In unexpectedly not mismatched scorelines from the Suomen Cup - Ilves 2 defeated Ilves 2-1. Definitely no shenanigans involved in this last minute winner.

  8. Late to the party but closer to home last month in the North Regional Cup Stonehaven beat New Elgin 20-0 which to the best of my knowledge is the highest score in Scottish football (excluding amateur) since Stirling Albion hit Selkirk for the same score in the 84/85 Scottish Cup.

    image.png.b8170913bcc3643b97f9c428ba493453.png

As a random interesting side note the same day in the same competition Banks O'Dee beat Islavale 15-0. The previous non-league score that comes even close to Stonehaven's is Lesmahagow's 18-0 over Ardeer Thistle in a league game in the now defunct SJFA West Region League Two back in 2018.
I'm glad that Lesmahagow victory margin has now been bettered.

Incidentally, Ardeer started that match with only ten men. If I hadn't missed my bus that day, I'd have kitted up and played, which would have been some sight!
  9. Nõmme Kalju 32 (thirty-two!) FC Mulgi 0. Biggest win in the cup since 2015.
While this is obviously an incredible scoreline, it's been a goal friendly weekend in the Eesti Karikas and you have to feel for Flora Tallinn's second eleven and Tallinna Legion, whose 24 and 21 goal winning margins yesterday against Karsklus and Soccernet respectively have been somewhat overshadowed by today's result.

We've also had a 13-1 win. an 11-1 win, a 10-0 win and two 9-0 wins this weekend but I'm not sure they fall in the same mis-matched category any more.
  10. The early rounds of the Estonian cup have been disappointingly tame this season. Wiki shows a lot of scratched ties, so I'm assuming COVID is the cause for most of them. I was genuinely looking forward to seeing what the Narva Vs IBK Here for Beer score was going to be.

Yep, I agree. Still a decent number of potential cricket scores in the second round as long as the Rahvaliiga and fifth/sixth tier sides don't withdraw.
And with that being said, tonight's result: Viljandi Tulevik 26 (Twenty-Six) FC Lelle 0 (Nil)
