Looking at the County team it struck me how small they were. Jordan White was the only big guy. None of the centre backs are BIG

The posts before yours answer this - they are all playing in the english Leagues One and Two.
You would have thought wee fanny Adams would have brought some in in the transfer window seeing as how he thinks they are all so much better.

This is exactly my feeling too.  Our league position has got gradually worse over the last 2 and a half seasons, and 3 or 4 of that side have now either left or have gone on loan and will clearly be away in the summer.

You're absolutely right, we've been sliding down the league each season.  We need to stop that.  Releasing players that have been part of us getting a bit worse each season is not a bad thing.  We do need to replace them with something better of course, but head in the sand denial is not the answer.

Aye as much as I think there’s guys in the squad who should’ve been gone donkeys ago, I get uneasy thinking about a full squad rebuild.

Massive massive job for Ferguson but it just shows what a complete horror show that Dodds left behind.

In a way I think the manager will be pleased that so many will be out of contract and he can sign the players he wants to work with.  I don't really think it's a bad thing, a big clear out is perhaps needed.  It'll be the first real opportunity he'll have had to assemble a squad of players that he thinks can fit what he wants to do.
My only concern would be the lack of money he'll have available to spend.

There's no guarantee that he'll get it right of course, but that would be the same for any manager.

I sometimes think our fans have a big bias towards current players.  It's partially because we've had relatively settled squads and usually had a core of players during our time in the league who have been with us for several seasons.  When we move on from that a lot of our fans don't like it - when Butcher moved on Munro and Duncan and then Tokely a lot of people were uneasy.  When Hughes wanted to release David Raven people were outraged and Hughes ended up leaving with Raven getting a contract from the board!

    Current and ex-players as well.
"Bring back [insert random ex-player]".  Oh do bore off.

This is a proper Butcheresque transfer window. Shipping out your Ross Tokelys for your George Brislen-Halls

Honestly, with the exception of Mckay, Shaw and Ridgers I really don't care who Ferguson gets rid of.  If he thinks that they are not good enough then fine - off they pop.  Most of the players that have been with us for a while have put us in the situation we are in.  Sentimentality is understandable but just because some have been around for ages doesn't make it a good thing.

    Onwards...

Reckon you’d have a load of folk happy to pay £20-50 a month depending on their circumstances.

They could enter everyone that pays in into a draw each month to win a signed shirt, a voucher for the club shop, free tickets etc.

The issue with your suggestion is that this then comes under some form of lottery / prize / gifts in return type of regulation/s.

I still think it's a good idea but getting anything in return opens up a whole lot of admin and regulations for the club which I think is their issue with ideas like this.

Nobody's piling into The Norseman though because it's actually a dump (our dump though). There would have to be significant investment to tart the place up to even basic levels of hygiene and maintenance if the club took it over, but that's an option in the near future.

I'd like to think that a club-owned bar with the TV football would have more footfall for longer on matchdays, but it could take a while to change people's habits of a good 20 years or more.

As you said, The Norseman is a dump but I do tend to always get in there when we play in Greenock, mostly before and after depending on travel and times, etc.
It's great to be able to get a pint so quickly after a game (QOS is good for that too), I stay in Glasgow so unlike most ICT fans I don't have a long journey afterwards.
I think that the proximity of the train station, The Norseman and the stadium make everything really convenient for an away game.

I did wonder if there was a connection between the pub and the club with regards ownership, money or whatever, I presume not.

    It's a dump but it's a handy dump!

There's enough old firm ar$eholes in the Highlands, without encouraging it with "Big Dunc & Broony" lazy journalism articles. Get this idea so far into the sea please.

There are certainly plenty of OF fannies in the Highlands for sure and I'm sure you're right, if Brown got the job there would be some easy headlines for the local press.  It's a bit odd that Ferguson gets mentioned with rangers (RIP) so often, he played about 14 league games for them around 30 years ago.  Your previous manager had more than double the amount of games for one side and our previous manager way more too.
