  1. Why all the negativity regarding the new signings?

I think Brooks is a positive signing, he's likely turned down more money at Celtic reserves than we are paying him because he wants to play first team football.  That to me, shows character and determination, he was highly thought of at Celtic and turned down a new contract.  I think, and hope, he'll do well with us and am glad that he thought ICT are the team to help him progress his career.

The other signings haven't really had a chance yet and people are whining.  I wasn't enthused when we initially signed Carson, Allardice or Shaw but they turned out pretty well for us, give these players a chance FFS.
I understand the frustrations with the board and or management to a degree but whining about new signings who have barely kicked a ball in red n blue yet is just stupid.

Who do people think we should be signing?  We're skint, we need to live within our means.  I think a lot of our fans would still whine if John McGinn and Ryan Christie signed for us and offered to play for for free.

I don't think Goodwillie or Robertson ever paid the money to Denise Clair that the court ordered.  Both declared bankruptcy following the ruling.  I don't know what impact that has on your requirements to pay a civil ruling.  The rumour at the time was that he waited until 2022 to sign for Raith as he was out of bankruptcy proceedings so he could keep more money.

It's also worth saying that Goodwillie and Robertson offered Denise Clair money to drop her legal case before the civil case.

The lady is incredibly brave to waive the anonymity, turn down financial offers, know all the attention this would garner and still forge ahead and attempt to seek some meagre form of justice.
If anyone is still daft enough to think she made this up then they need to look at her actions and conduct, she's been very brave and unlike Goodwillie does not seem to want to court limelight.

Yeah I could also be wrong and given an hour long interview cba going back to find the bit it was discussed. But think he said his £100k was seized on sale of house by court but also didn't know if Robertson had paid the £100k. Then HMRC came along over an unpaid tax bill which he then couldn't afford cause the court case and that was when he was made bankrupt.

I certainly wouldn't trust what Goodwillie says and I thought I had read that the victim had never received a penny but you could well be right.  I'm sure someone on here will be able to confirm.

What I took from the interview was he has paid the money. Sold his house for £170k, of which £100k was seized by the court to settle the £100k awarded. Just seems that most of this was then taken by the lawyers of Denise Clair for her own legal fees.

I was under the impression that he had went bankrupt to avoid paying any of the damages awarded and that the victim had not received a penny from him at all, regardless of any legal fees.
Apologies if I am wrong on that, it could be a misunderstanding on my part.  Cases like this really, really anger me so I haven't read in depth about it all, I'd just get myself even more angry with him and what he did.

I have taken a fair bit of time reading this over - feel like it was something I should do after voicing an opinion on the matter uninformed.

For the benefit of doubt I have thought he was in the wrong from the very start but I was not sure on how bad it was - I would like to take that back.

I think that this sounds like a pretty sinister and horrendous ordeal and makes for very uncomfortable reading.

I would also like to apologise to everyone for the misunderstanding on my part.

    Fair play.
It takes a big person to admit they were wrong and then apologise, and it takes an intelligent person to find out more and then change their mind (and then be open about it too).

I think you're right. Had he shown remorse and sought to make amends in whatever way... Even actually paying what he was fined would be a start, then I'm sure he would have been left to pursue a career in football at some level, whatever that may have been.

What is following him around is his own complete lack of remorse and victim mentality. Being a rapist is bad enough, but to spend subsequent years painting yourself as an equal victim of what was really just one big misunderstanding is beyond any sort of forgiveness. He deserves hounded wherever he goes.

You raise a good point here - had Goodwillie paid the victim the £100k he was ordered by the judge to pay, it would have been seen by many as him taking a measure of responsibility for what he did and also showing a modicum of remorse, which has very much not been the case.
It's hypothetical of course, but I think it's possible that should that have happened, then he would have been able to continue playing the game - perhaps not at Championship level or above and I certainly would never want him at my club but I think feelings would perhaps not be as strong as they currently are on this case.

That's all hypothetical as I say, but it certainly seems like avoiding paying the compensation has been a massive mistake. (Not that the p***k would even admit that)

Yer right there, I took in an Argyle game some years back and it was murder to watch.

That bombed Church though is something else.

The worst game that I could definitely describe as murder to watch was around 1999 ish when I was living in that London, I helped a mate with some Uni work (survey type thing) at Craven Cottage as part of his course.  We got access to the game after...
FFS - what did I do to deserve that?!

Fulham v Lincoln City, 2nd division or now League One (third tier), finished 1-0 to Fulham, Keegan was Fulham manager, it wasn't long after the Harrods bloke had bought them over.  It's being polite to call it a dirge.  One of the dullest experiences of my life and I watched some Charlie Christie press conferences.

I think you were right the first time, Mr Foran has Puma and Joma catalogues on his site:

    Thanks.
I always confuse those two; Joma and Macron.  They seem to have came into the Scottish game around the same time, used by lower league clubs initially (non top flight at least, maybe not so much now), have crap logos (IMO) and just seemed a bit cheap.

Not sure I'd want Errea back though, they've produced some horrors over the years.
Errea, Joma and Macron, not much difference really I guess.  Shame we are not keeping Puma, I have really liked their kits.

Couldn't agree more, with Sean Welsh out a talented midfielder such as Allen would be a major asset, but has the heart conditioned worsened on top of his type 1 Diabetes, no doubt that it is odd that he hasn't been picked up but is the aforementioned medical conditions the reason?

Maybe his condition/s have not worsened however I'd think that the insurance premiums (and any other healthcare, physio, medical costs) that would be involved with him having these known conditions, on top of his wage demands, would be far too much for ICT and clubs with similar budgets.  And even if we did take the risk, the problem is that is what it is - a risk.
    It's a shame, he's definitely a good player.

C*unty have money to burn, I wouldn't be surprised to see him end up there.

Re-sign Edward Ofere for fan morale reasons @scotgardiner

Was he not a bit of a dick when it came to negotiations regarding a new contract previously?
I think someone told me that he turned down an offer, both parties decided it wasn't going to happen and then he expected the club to pay for his flight tickets to somewhere.
I could be thinking of another player or remembering a drunken pub chat wrong, so the above could be bollocks.  To be honest with my memory after more than 4 or 5 pints I'm probably confusing that chat with whatever late night pish was on ITV4 when I got in that night.
If his negotiations had a wee speccy woman wi a cardigan in the corner doing sign language then it's true.

He scored some very nice goals for us but I think he flattered to deceive a lot of the time. Showed some nice flashes of talent but other times he was pretty quiet.

I can't agree with pal, I'd love to have him back with us.  Obviously the goals he scored for us were a joy but I also really liked him in general, you're right he had some quiet games but I think it seems that way because we often expected him to be scoring peaches all the time.  I thought his attitude when he was with us, especially considering he was a loan player was really good.  We've certainly had some loan players over the years who think they are far too good to be at ICT.
I'd have him back in a heartbeat.

Up in Inverness this weekend for the day/night. Are there any pubs that the good members of PnB would recommend? A late pub with nice vibes would be ideal.

If there's some sort of day activity nearby that'd be nice, outwith the black Isle one are there many nearby?

    Big thanks x

I'm not sure about what late pub folk would recommend, I'm living in Glasgow now, I'm sure someone will recommend somewhere.

For something to do during the day, if the weather is good the cruise boats along the Caledonian Canal out to Loch Ness are really good.  I've taken a few friends from england on these and they've always really enjoyed it.  There is a bar on board too!
I think the company is called Caledonian Cruises or something like that.  No idea if that's your thing but if the weather is good it's worth it.

    Have fun! 🍻
