  1. I was Randox so we’ll see what happens. The whole thing is a farce now for fully vaccinated people. I will not be quarantining when I am back and I will be supporting the local night time economy.
  2. BA. Going via London means there’s no questions also about the cheaper tests that the English can get. I didn’t need to show my proof of purchase either. The guy said “No I can see the code on the system so thats no problem.” Worst case scenario is I have to buy one there and then if my reused code is flagged up. Can’t see how it would be an issue though as there’s no way of them knowing if i actually used the kit. Hoping I get contacted by T&T next week so I can tell them I am at work at not in quarantine.
  3. I have been going home from Switzerland via Heathrow where you pass border control. Then flying on to Scotland. No problem at all. There also has been zero direct flights for months. I’m away to find out on Friday when I drop in for the weekend if you can re use old Test package codes on your locator form. I’m not paying for 2&8 days as I am meant to, when I’m only home for
  4. I got a PCR today at Aberdeen airport to fly out to Switzerland on Sunday. Swab up the nose only, no tonsils. Test in Switzerland 2+ weeks ago to come home, spit into a test tube. My day 2 & 8 tests here, nose & tonsil swab. I asked today why nose only and was told they had a new fancy machine that could detect from nostrils only. So in conclusion. Nae idea [emoji2369]
  5. I agree just another example of extortion where Covid is concerned. The English 5 day test to release one is just blatantly against the public health recommendations but “hey ho money for mates” is the way this has gone so far so why change now. Yeah I dropped mine off in Dundee at 13:00 on the Sunday. Email at 05:37 Monday morning negative test result from a lab in Co Antrim. It was that quick I assumed it must have been done locally but no.
  6. No I’m Scotland. I flew in from Geneva via Heathrow then up to Aberdeen. This was on BA and I got Randox from an email they sent out with test suppliers. Purely as they were the cheapest. It’s still UK gov website that the locator forms are through so can’t understand the Scottish gov website preferred tester mob. I was slightly hesitant like you but I think they just haven’t updated their website regarding testers - the layout is horrendous like it’s just been lashed together in half an hour. I didn’t need to show my test confirmation as the border control guy said no need he can see the code on the system from the locator form. It’s the code that you’re paying for to enter the country essentially. You get texts from UKgov reminding you to test on the 2 & 8 days on pain of death etc.
  7. Nah I did that regularly last year it is not mandatory to give a departure date; only arrival date. I’d come home in my 4 days off for a flying visit. It was during this time that I was once phoned. I do have a UK passport so if your guests don’t then they may well “flagged” & put in a separate part of the database that’s more likely to be contacted (IRL probably Johnny Foreigner tab on an Excel 97 spreadsheet) They’ll be fine IMHO. Tell them to get their bags packed.
  8. It is only a % of people that are followed up. I have travelled regularly for work this last year and I have only been contacted once say in about 15 occasions and that time I was leaving the country again the next day anyway so didn’t matter. I’m currently “in quarantine” after returning from an amber country with a population of 8.5m which has less cases per day than Dundee but I have had no contact at all since I returned last week. You do need to buy the tests as you need to put the order number on your locator form but you can get them much cheaper than that. I got Day 2 & 8 from Randox for £96. Don’t let this pish put you off travelling if you’re happy to fork out for tests. Chances of being contacted are remote in my experience. People I work with who travel back to the UK have similar experiences too.
  9. I’m 26 hours since getting the Moderna. Nothing apart from a dead arm so far. I have kept on waiting on something happening after listening to the hypochondriac that sits near me at work telling everyone how bad a reaction he had to it.
  10. I thought they had an underlying condition but apparently not. I am in the 40-50 group and will be travelling back abroad to work once the secondary schools are back so have a vested interest in this. I’m not getting my hopes up but this occurred at the same surgery I am registered with.
  11. I have heard this week of under 50s getting vaccinated in Angus. I assume some areas are just cracking on with it.
  12. Cheers. Couldn't see one but ran it through Google Translate and it doesn't appear to have anything out of the ordinary on it, yet! It's a 1 year contract & I will be working in Luterbach and initially staying in the town of Solothurn itself. To plan is to suss out more permanent accommodation once I'm over there.
  13. Solothurn. Thanks for the information; I'm finding it difficult to find much detail online. I've handed in my notice here so would obviously prefer not to be out of work for longer than necessary. I start in 3 weeks and as we've seen a lot can happen in that time.
  14. I am meant to be starting a new job in Switzerland; first week in April. Zero communication about the situation from the company despite repeated emails from me.
