  1. They've got a tune called "Fake Tales of San Francisco" which is absolutely brilliant. I first heard it about 6 months ago. The problem with them now is that they're going to get hyped to f**k and we'll all hate them very shortly because they're going to be everywhere. Hope i'm wrong though.

Also can i ask if anybody knows a good free download site? I used to download films and musiv from Warez but that got shut down

Is that the tune with the line "You're not from New York City, you're from Rotherham" in it?? If so, it's bloody superb.

I'm new to the world of downloads having finally got a decent PC and MP3 player delivered yesterday. I used Limewire on the recommendation of a few mates and found it fine.

Shame I had to figure out how it works by trial and error after no c'nt responded to my post on the e-chat forum. :P

  2. I'm listening to the Artic Monkeys just now - I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor. It's going to be number one apparently.

Downloaed a shitload of their stuff last night. I've only heard the single so far but I'll have a wee listen later to see if the hype is justified.

  3. TITP, Reading and the Magic Numbers next up for me.

I'm toying with the idea of going to see Coldplay on Saturday however in common with the majority on this board, most of my mates think they're a bag of shite.

  4. Went to see Kasabian at the Carling Academy on Friday night. Just happened to be looking in the right direction at the right time to see a bottle come flying in and hit the guitarist square on the head. Poor guy went down like a boxer that had just been punched. Looked painful as feck. Apparently he ended up in hospital. Either way, that was the end of the gig for the night.

People that throw things at concerts are arseholes. No need at all for it.

A girl I work beside was at that and described the aftermath as "a riot" and describe the audience as being mainly neds and dafties. Apparantly a bloke standing near her was going of his head blaming the mayhem on "the ****".

She's a Thistle fan too so it wasn't the best of weekend for her!

  5. Financial issues and telling the lassie I was intending to go to the gig with to "f**k off" in a dunken post-pub phone rant have put paid to my chances of catching the Earlies.

My next gig's therefore The Futureheads at the Barras on 10 May. :D

  6. I'll be at the Academy on Thursday for Doves as well. Should be a good 'un.

Saw a slightly ropey MHS at Tut's last night although after the early gremlins were sorted out, it turned into a damn fine gig. That said, the industrial qunatities of Stella and Magners imbibed through the day probably added to my enjoyment of the gig.

  7. I also saw Snow Patrol last night and agree that it was feckin fantastic.

The Delays are as good a live band as I've seen in a wee while too.

As a latecomer to Snow Patrol, I purchased When The Party's Over We Still Have To Clear Up today as I was impressed with the songs played form it last night. All

I can say is I'm ashamed that it's taken me 3 years to buy this!!

Stopped short of buying Songs For Polar Bears though as I'm reliably informed that the production makes it virtually unlistenable. Can anyone confirm this or should I risk a hard earned 7 quid on it?

  8. Last gig was Mull Historical Society last week.

Next one's Snow Patrol at the Barras on 19 December or possibly Manics at the SECC on the 14th if I decide to get tickets. I'm right up for the Snow Patrol gig as it still pisses me off at getting locked out of the tent when they were playing at TITP this year!
