The primary difference being I'm not on this threda preaching about clubs overspending. That figure isn't correct either.Preaching? At not time in this debate have I seen anyone connected with ICT said maybe we have been overspending for years and they should cut their cloth accordingly. They should down size, rebuild from the bottom and produce a model that is sustainable. Kelty is saving what? What not just cut that from the playing budget and stay in Inverness? You are right about Kilmarnock it was probably more.

You could say the same about Falkirk and the massive losses they continued to make in League 1.Or Kilmarnock who lost £2.5m to get out the championship? Glasshouses and stones

Has anyone at ICT ever thought about living within their means and have a playing budget the club can afford? Looks to me that they have been throwing cash at players they simply can’t afford.

If I was Ferguson or Gardiner listening to that I would be getting my constructive dismal claim ready. Utter fool that Chairman. No wonder ICT are in such a mess. What is the saying “and old fool and their money are easily parted”

The fans can either help the club’s demise or survival. Which one will holding back your financial support help? You can either let it fade away or try to fight to help save it.
Either way it’s a shit place to be, but if you still have a club you can try to change it’s structure and fortunes.Your club simply withheld funds from creditors. The last group of fans ICT should take advice from is you lot. You were fan owned then sold out to some a German outfit. If I were an ICT fan who is looking for long term change starving the club of cash is the only way to force change. Get organised, get competent people involved in a supporters group and start raising cash.

such a touching tribute to Gordon Wright in the board statement, I'm not ashamed to admit i shed a tear or two reading it.
I was the same. A lump in my throat. What comes through was a Board that was together and with lots of respect for each other. A sad loss.

Just like we found out over the two RC games, you’ll find out with the Championship that it’s a sizeable jump up.
I expect Falkirk to have a good season however your 5/6 year hiatus from the league and ‘invincible’ season has a number of you overestimating your squad.
The Pars kept largely the same squad from their convincing league 1 campaign (that involved horsing you) and ended up 3 points from the relegation playoff.
Lots of ins and out to happen for all teams this summer and lots can happen but I don’t envisage any cannon fodder this time around like previous seasons.
I am certainly not over estimating our squad. I look at the Championship and see players like Liam Dick, Aaron Muirhead, Cameron Blues, and Charlie Telfer being regulars at teams near the top of the league and realise the standard is not as great as you are making out.
We have a settled squad, we have lots of pace, a physical presence and quality in there. IF we can steer clear of injuries I see no reason why we should not be very competitive even without adding anyone.0 -

The RB isn’t a natural RB he’s a midfielder who got put there
So is ours but he is way better than the lad you have there

It’s mental the take some people have on Corr. He got some time pre-season, got injured and then was buried until the last seven matches of the season/playoffs. During that seven games he started despite having a strapped up shoulder…and helped us get to the playoff finals. All this on top of playing in the Lowland League last year. Did he make mistakes, yes he did…but the majority of the time he was calm, composed and did the job we needed.
14 matches, for a total of 977 minutes! Seven of those games have been since 19 April, totaling over half his minutes.
If he can effectively start with that little playing experience all season, he’s EXACTLY what we need/want. He has the speed that our more senior signed CB lacks, he has experience with IM’s system, and he’s plenty good at this level. And for those saying we need players capable that the next level, no, we don’t need (and can’t afford) that right now.
We need good Championship level players, especially younger ones, that we can evaluate for the ability to raise their game if we get promoted. I think Corr meets that standard, will be re-signed and will start at least 33% of the games next year (especially if we switch to 3 CB).
Obviously not seen much of him other than the play off games. However on those showings he was your poorest player. If Raith are to challenge for the title they will need to get their back door sorted. That lad and the two fullbacks are not good enough to win that league.

Aye David Smith is the owner now. He bought the club a few years ago from Cameron and has piled a load of cash into the infrastructure side of things with the Somerset Hub and new stand.
Our playing budget is “competitive” this year from what’s being said and the target is playoffs.
Exactly. No way you are throwing fortunes at your team if you are signing Oakley and Dowds. Nearly every team, outside Morton and Queens Park, I would guess will have similar ish budgets.

I’ve absolutely not got a scubie on what the going rate is, merely answering the question you raised.
So if you have no clue what the going rate is how do you know Ayr are throwing money at it? Dowds and Oakley tell me nothing other than they will be going route one.

Lachlan Cameron - Smith
My point stands they are not paying any more than the going rate, these two won’t be top earners in the league

No, looks like we're giving him the chance to take us back up. He's already made about 7 signings for next season.
Good, that is another negative on your chances

If we manage to keep a hold of Stephen Kelly and Tete Yengi then I reckon we're in a very solid spot. The GK we've signed has been in and around Ligue 1/2 for a while, few French fans saying he should never be dropping to a level like this.
Our biggest worry is sorting out a CB or two, and the same for CMs.
Is your manager getting cleared out?

Covered already but we’re going to face three/four clubs that will have budgets quite a bit higher than most, safe money on QP RR Ayr. Livi is probably the worry and could be either well backed or more in line with the rest of the league. Glad we’ve got the majority of squad all in place, and sure we’ll bring in a couple of crackers.
Who is pumping money into Ayr? Do you think they will be paying Dowds and Oakley more than we are paying Morrison for example? If they are then they are idiots

Except it has passed all required checks.
So did ours the season before last but it in reality we took too long the change it. The surface ourselves, Airdrie and QOS have are way better than most grass pitches between Jan and April.

It's up there with the amount of times you have to tell them there is no suh thing as an all weather pitch.
For parity SPFL Premiership grass pitches should be held to the same scrutiny, and required to pass a certain standard. Wont hold my breath on them having a vote on that though, and anyone not making the grass pitch grade forced to rip their pitch up and relay it with a quality grass one.
It is a pity your tin pot club couldn’t maintain your pitch properly and maybe we wouldnt be in this farcical place

So you haven’t over spent for years? Trying to compete with Uncle moneybags 15 miles up the road has led you to ruin. I genuinely feel for ICT fans but they need to get themselves organised now. It is their club not a few individuals as comes across from the outside.
