  1. Must say, against us anyway, I’ve not really understood the hype over Sibbald. Booted lumps out our players in a couple of the games.

More impressed with Docherty and the effect he has on the team when he isn’t in it. Takes the game by the scruff of the neck and can dictate it.

Other players of note that I’ve quite liked the look of who have played in that deeper midfield role:

    O’too - Pars.
    McMaster - Airdrie.

Shame Scott Brown has played large chunks of the season at centre half or he probably could have ended up there. Think each of our CDM type players have all had decent wee spells/run of games but maybe not quite merit being in the TOTS.

  2. Really looking forward to this now as it kick off looms! Wee jaunt up on the train and hopefully grab a few beers on route up the hill.

I think it’ll be cagey and I think we’ll sit back at times and try hit on the counter, but also maybe see us have a go as the game goes on. I personally think we have a far stronger bench and better game changers on the bench than United, even more so with the couple of wee injuries they have picked up.

    Line up prediction:

                         Dabrowski

J Brown  S Brown  Murray  Dick

                          Matthews

    Mullin           Stanton         Easton

                  Vaughan     Rudden

Watson could easily start alongside Murray which could push Broony back into the middle of the park.

Kids get into any the boozers near or around the ground?

Edited - how could I forget super Sam Stanton!

  3. Well lads, the incident at East End we were told the laddies had nothing to do with Northwest and “not Pars fans”.

Unfortunately I doubt you can deny this or deflect away from any of this.

Sent to me tonight by someone who works at the club. Thanks for the thousands of pounds worth of damage on top of the 12 points!7eda621e-5ce9-42fd-a9f9-95d56202d13d.thumb.jpeg.82a306da11234de5d08fc644b0a0e524.jpege8f29fd4-ba92-425f-84d5-8d7288545c8b.thumb.jpeg.b98204272b8ea660bde6d3108518f366.jpeg965bed35-13b3-4acb-9371-a97289203457.thumb.jpeg.db9afc4dbdec4e532fd75823fb4ccbe1.jpeg4a92c2cb-ee9d-4c4e-a59b-eefe1b039903.thumb.jpeg.76ff77b35544d85c2e95d1dd468edb24.jpeg8d162b8f-b98c-4c13-8f2e-e2cda4b08207.thumb.jpeg.011bc97064f3fb6e4917e33430ca59fe.jpeg7eda621e-5ce9-42fd-a9f9-95d56202d13d.thumb.jpeg.82a306da11234de5d08fc644b0a0e524.jpega4813a9a-8826-44ad-a2cd-daf59872aa46.thumb.jpeg.2621563ad9c842e24cb75e843698b2da.jpeg8e48bcbe-186d-44e3-9947-536e6679a32a.thumb.jpeg.c0506186ced48d51c807a0fdd6d65282.jpegec94da6a-63e3-491a-b8ab-24383cf4c810.thumb.jpeg.aa1655f4abb11b72aa7763b16be9d7f2.jpeg2a984500-bf5c-4f81-96ad-5f56fdec9a86.thumb.jpeg.17b86ff7507b74c298ed86048134ef18.jpeg8f312523-5b80-41b5-b618-5c21d7754418.thumb.jpeg.66ea7168a652242f07a571bc634481cb.jpeg169fecfa-b1b1-44e0-b95d-968d982b7db3.thumb.jpeg.04f20ec096234d0c0600e2239b317745.jpeg

  4. Sore one to take that last night, like others, really has me questioning whether we have the balls to last the distance. We absolutely crumbled in that second half.

Momentum is a great thing in football at any level, for the first hour or so we were in complete control of that game and probably should have been out of sight in the first half. Then up pop’s the boy Bird with a cracking finish out of nowhere really. This gave the hosts a massive lift.

Big Kev poor at the equaliser - not commanding enough and it’s as if he jamp straight in the air as opposed to towards the ball allowing McIntosh to nip in. The winner could have been dealt with better, we fail to clear our lines and a fizzed attempt finds Stowe at the back post unmarked (looked offside where I was stood behind the goal and haven’t watched back yet)and he tucks away.

The wind did appear to pick up a little in the second half and there was wee moment of torrential rain for a minute or two - but that’s no excuse. Arbroath got back into the game and their tails up and we crumbled it’s as simple as that. If Ashcroft and Watson are now gubbed for a few weeks then I fear that’s us gubbed.

Well done to Arbroath considering the hammering they took during the week, it’s a funny old league and tbh I still think are twists and turns along the way. This result will now have a few at the bottom looking over their shoulder and it means near enough every point is precious at the moment for the whole league with 10 games to play - probably a better scenario for us in honesty, because at the moment us or United don’t look like we want to win it on our own accords.

  5. With the shape The Pars play, Millen would probably do a turn for you as a right wing back.

He’s decent technically, good crosser of the ball and effective with set pieces/penalties.

Nout to do with what’s going on, but I’ve always been sceptic of his defensive capabilities and have argued until I’m blue in the face with many. He’s not the quickest, and not the greatest physically - has a cynical side in him we’re hell take a yellow for the team.

But for the height of the guy, he’s brutal in the air and he’d often not even compete for headers or turn his back on them and that infuriates the life out of me.

According to DAFC.net, Ross millen has been told to leave rovers. Any truth in this?

An article come out the other day but it was a bit misleading - was titled the above, but it more or less said that he wouldn’t be getting a new deal in the summer so free to go.

However, whatever has happened, if it’s that bad, then I’d have thought we’d maybe have looked to put him out on loan.

  7. We just have to try keep ticking along for the final 11 games - can see many twists and turns along the way as teams battle to get into and avoid play off spots.

We have a chance to apply some pressure on Friday night if we can pick up 3 points and United visiting a Partick side who will be looking to put and end to their slump.

  8. We were poor tonight in all honesty and probably is a no bad point in the end.

Morton are a big and physical side and play to their strengths. The long throws are an absolute weapon, and with the likes of Muirhead they are always going to have a threat. Thought our back line defended really well, considering set plays are our Achilles heel - and Strapps throw ins are just like a corner.

Apparently Andy Millen and John Potter were at one another, rather heatedly at the top of the stairs as folk were exiting - one can only assume it’s regarding Ross’ exclusion from the squad.

Fair play to the Morton support on the night who travelled up - hopefully you can take some points off United at Cappielow next week.

The Morton narrative works for them  The fact is that over-the-piece it isn't grounded in the comments made by our manager or players.

Perception is all that matters, Unlike Ferguson I have watched every interview and there isn't smoke never mind fire. Sure post match from previous games have heat of the moment comments but hardly targeted criticism.  Just watch the Ayr post match with manager and player both of whom show respect to Morton.

All that's irrelevant though, Imrie shows himself as needing that chip on the shoulder. No loss in 15 so it works for them.

The Morton forum match preview is interesting, while it's full of wild comments and seethe. It shows how we are perceived.

Fucking hell I can feel the seethe vibrating through my phone reading that.

    Does Dougie write that himself?

Dont mind that from Hamilton. Gave Raith the kick up the arse that was required. How dare teams come out and not let UTD walk away with 3 points. Having watched them again they love a long ball as much as anyone. Listening to Goodwin you would think they played peak Barca style.

also how much of a arsehole is Tony big time Watt

He’s genuinely up there as one of the biggest wanks in the game.

Countless times he goes down at the slightest touch, you can see him lining it up - constantly in refs faces, involved at every incident.

Laughed in Big Kev’s face at the equaliser like a genuine w**k.

Hope he enjoyed his eggs this morning anyway.
