Assume Hamish Ritchie will be signing for a team in the east now that he’s left you, seems a decent player.

Would think Hamish will have plenty options, have thought for a while he could end up at Spartans which would be a good fit for him. Have sponsored Hamish for most of his time at Peterhead and would wish him well in his future apart from against us.

EK have very wealthy backers, money is no object to them, so I wouldn’t bet on it.

Thought they moved to Raith Rovers but at least Kelty got the ground improvements done earlier before they left

Decision to retain Duthie seems odd for me. Barely managed a 90 minutes the last two seasons. He's good but he isn't that good.

Showed up pretty well pre-season last year then got crocked 1st game at East Fife unlike a lot of clubs we have a record of looking after players when with us picking up injuries in the last few seasons we have had Nicky Riley & Hamish Ritchie missing whole seasons.

Social club gossip at the end of the season was that there are several players coming up from England on trial and interest in a player from Fraserburgh. Hale has done pretty well in recruitment so far so hopefully he can get some decent players in.

Has Hale got a loan of David Robertsons book of star players from 2 seasons ago, if so he will have to hope he gets one that has some idea of how to play. 🤪

Speaking as a fan of a relegated club renting a council facility - Forthbank is like the Nou Camp compared to Meadowbank.

Agree with that, not looking forward to us playing at Meadowbank, as someone that goes to every game our 2nd game there 2 seasons ago was the first i did not attend in probably 5 years. Went to the 1st game there and that was enough did not go back.

  6. Shame that what has been a decent season ended without us landing a blow on Spartans. They were gifted a dream start and showed they are a decent side that can if allowed knock the ball around well. Our managers did well getting players signed early last year but will need to be ruthless this time and let a few go to make way for better options that can improve us at both ends of the park.

    Never a penalty.

When we played Spartans at Ainslie Park they did the same, constant screaming for a foul at the slightest touch or tackle.

They have turned into a real mob, as you going down screaming until foul given then up and about brand new the next minute. The ref last night gave out a few yellows but at least two of them deserved reds.

Wasn't at the first away game but is there a wee social club nearby? Are the pies worthy of their capital status?

This is by far the worst place to watch football in the country, be sure to take your glasses if wanting to follow the action. This is the only ground i did not go to a second time when in the same division the other year as i go home & away always.

  9. Agree Elgin have improved, are most of the squad signed on for next season or will it be a rebuild. The pitch looked a bit better this time but seemed quite sticky, i take it there are no sprinklers. We seem content to run the season down although everyone seems to want 2nd place to get our 2nd leg at home.hopefully we will threaten more with at least one striker back next week.

  10. Will be there on Saturday but will just drive up & back so dont get to use what i hear is a decent social club. In its day it was way ahead of most HFL grounds and is still a decent set up. My only gripes are the away end food stall is only open sometimes & they do not open the gate to let folk out that end at the end of the gamewhich means going all the way back around if parked at the leisure centre.

  11. The pitch actually looked better this time than our previous visit, the addition of some green stuff on top of the mud hid the fact that underneath must have had some corrugated sheeting blown off a roof somewhere. Add in a howling gale and any idea of playing football was a non starter. We had to adapt our play but for the Rose it was carry on as usual, have to admit their goals were well taken. We kept working away and deserved the draw but think everybody had been glad to get on the bus and head up the road. Stewart McKenzies kicking in general was ok but at least nothing came of him picking up his own goalkick resulting in a freekick in our own box
