  1. The way back for Livingston in the short term would probably be to buy out a club like East Stirling and relocate them.

Jesus! :o A franchise on top of another franchise. I think the shire fans (i know you've drawn that club out of fresh air) would have something to say about that!!

Didn't they merge with Clydebank in the sixties and play a couple of seasons at Kilbowie as ES Clydebank. I even think the bankies stole a roof off the shed from Firs park and the shire never got it back.

They're chugging along quite nicely with Spencer Ferns putting a few quid in and they've got their best side in years and a good boss in Jim McInally.

Best to let Livvy die in peace and leave every other club in Scotland avoid more desperate shenanigans!

  2. On. Another. Planet.

Seeing John Bain pleading with him as he walks in...sums it up.

    Gutted.

    :(

Even a cold hearted ex Thistle fan started to have a modicum of sympathy after seeing that BBC interview. The club has no chance. He's like Hitler in his Berlin bunker moving around armies that don't exist anymore.

He's under the belief that having stuck two fingers up to the administrators at Midday today he's untouchable.

For God's sake will somebody please issue the coup de grace.

  3. This has been done to death so many times, but at the end of the day 'many' supporters can think what they like. At the end of the day we didn't have 'many'.

You can talk about breaking ranks, but there was no union. Meadowbank supporters were about as divided as anyone for years. Three buses to away games carrying less than 100 folk for a start.

There was a simple choice at the time and I would suggest it was defined around whether you thought Livingston was going to be a continuation of Meadowbank Thistle. My view is that it is/was, so there is no new club.

Livingston took to the field with the same manager, largely the same players and same officials as ended the season as Meadowbank. We even played in the same ground for a good while.

Totally different to Clydebank/Airdrie, for example.

You have your opinion and you are entitled to it, but it's just that. An opinion. It's not gospel truth.

    utter pish!

fair enough the supporter's club and the brake club were hardly bussom buddies - but they were largely united towards a common aim; To keep Thistle out of livingston and the history books.

As for the players, i think it was pretty much the case just like the fans. Stand ten square behind the blobby regime or find a new club. Sure, livingston enjoyed a pretence of continuity by claiming the honours of Thistle and nonsense like John McGachie scoring the most goals in "livingston's" history, but temper that with a new colours (all black), a new badge, a new ground and a new name in a new fucking town there was no way this was any continuation. Sorry to go off topic but that post really pissed me off.

Guys like you make me so full of joy that this frankenstein experiment has failed utterly miserably. Enjoy mourning your unloved team.

p.s. Same manager. true. remember Terry Christie was also ousted by Hunter and instead that total buffoon Leishman evetually ended up in charge.

  4. A sponsor puts money in to advertise his products/services. The fact Livi have a high profile due to almost going into admin would see them get even more coverage. How many times has the frontage of the stadium been on the TV and in the papers the last couple of weeks ? The large RDF sign has been removed from the front so they have missed out on a lot of exposure. I don't think the sponsors bother that much about where the money they pay goes as long as they get value for their money.

Are you for real? Which business in their right mind would want to be associated in any way, shape or form with this debacle. I hear BCCI, Woolworths and Spangles might be interested!!

  5. Just had a look at the Livi Lions forum, thier fans are posting on what they will do on a Saturday if the club does fold.

I am aware that there is another Livi thread, it is dealing with what went wrong, what is going to happen, who's to blame blah, blah, blah.

This post is about thier fans, the people who go every week, the mums and dads who take their kids and even the feckin annoying drummer!

I have never been a fan of the club, really despised them the season we went down, but for the fans sake I truly wish them all the best and hope they, somehow, get out of this mess.

Maybe they could run free buses from Almondvale to go and see Edinburgh City at Meadowbank!!

  6. 1. What happened to the £125,000 they received from Dundee for a recent transfer? Who got their hands on the money? Is it still available to the club?

    2. What happened to the guy that won the lottery? Did he not put all his winnings into the club? Is he still on the Board of Directors? If not, does anyone know him and does he still follow the club?

    Thanks.

Your guess is as good as mine as far as the Leigh Griffiths cash is concerned. But as far as the lottery winner goes, John McGuinness is yet another hapless victim of the Livingston affair.

He was a patsy of the Dominic Keane era and lost a fortune when the club went into administration in 2004.

Apparently, he went totally bankrupt in 2007 and lost his house, due to the livvy thing and various other "bad investments".

He's now a crofter in Dornach, probably......
