Then your perhaps going to see even less fans going down to back the side

No tears if we go out, a cup competition you barely break even if you win it.

Selfishly (very) can now make the new Ayr date.

With the original date being the Sept holiday weekend, it may not impact the crowd too much. I’d still expect a minimum of 500 to travel and maybe a few more.

I'll be surprised if 500 make it down now. A good weekend train day also bus trip stopping at fenwick.

One of the great days out which was my first thought with the cup draw....midweek no so

Brad McKay not even on the bench, I doubt the Saudi clubs must be getting ready for a bid.

I'd like to guess he is getting the you won't play find yourself a club.

Exactly, too many on here were negative because we drew up there, if they had been there they would have seen a similar team performance without a Brad arse up.

I wanted him away after Airdrie, but he's got us playing some good stuff so far this eason, hope it continues.

By no means sticking up for Brad, don't think any Falkirk fan would or could......but it was 1-1 at the fuk up

We absolutely need to wrap Spencer in cotton wool though, god forbid he gets injured.

This is where McGinn can come in, if it's starting some games or coming on. I don't think the two should start together unless suspension or injuries make it a requirement.

I'll hold my hands up I thought he was a poor signing given his goals record. But the boy looks a decent player and we seem to be playing to his strengths. He reminds me a bit of Brian Graham, bit to go yet there though.

I never ever judge a player until they grace the navy blue, I've seen many a player destroy us and sign for us and be dug shite.

Brian Graham in his early days against us looked like a lanky piece of shit, he did for sure kick on.... hopefully similar happens. I don't think Alloa used him like we are currently....I'm only speaking on what I've seen against us and highlights of him.

I only really seen first 45 fully.... I flirted in out of 2nd half but game was over in first half. I thought Stirling passed the ball neatly but apart from a few scares Donaldson and Lang killed any threat.

The same starting 11 Saturday please

The only people who think this is must win are some of our supporters.
We should beat them - they looked slow at the back v Aberdeen. However they will sit in allow no space in behind and unless we get one early we will need to be very patient. If nothing else surely the last 4 years in this league tells us that taking teams lightly will cost us. Just ask St.Johnstone about them.
I think we will win but I just hope then fans stick with the side of it takes a while to break them down.

We should really have to wait till we get into double figures of league games before anything fully takes shape but we have last seasons cloud over us.

I'm pretty sure the majority are behind the team but have their fingers crossed McGlynn proves them wrong.

It's gonna take time before last seasons hangover is erased, a win over Stirling Albion won't do that

It's time we start considering the fact that the referee did in fact get the penalty decision correct.

For me after only viewing the highlights, if it is handball it shouldn't be a penalty even if it is from a Falkirk player due to how it is played in

There was a handball incident against Chelsea yesterday, like Saturday it was never a penalty.....common sense should prevail but rarely does with Scottish refs

Was talking about the way the game is changing and the direction it is going. That was the ethos of my post.

The successful teams of the future will have players that can do a shift in whatever position they find themselves.

No rigid team set up it will all be about flexibility with setups for different phases of the game.

Football is competing with other forms of entertainment and if the product is not good enough.

Where is the game changing ?

I think you have been playing too much FIFA.

I can't see football changing much, the rich will play football easy on the eye as it is currently, some will be pretenders through the league's but the majority will continue to have kick run, hoof ball or grinding out a result.

Football is competing with other forms of entertainment but remind me of our season ticket sales in league 3 especially 2 seasons ago after the darkest end of a season I've had as a Falkirk fan.

If you get the local club bug, I don't think it leaves you and thankfully this has been proven with our fanbase.

Possibly doesn't want to lose the physicality in midfield but certainly we will struggle badly with that clown playing every week now. He's a complete liability.  Thought we were the better side today but didn't get the breaks and that penalty was ludicrous. Point up there isn't a bad result especially the way that game went.

What happened at the burrell goal ?

Sorry going to have to agree to disagree in that case. For me volunteers donating their time is very different to players being paid.

Was happy to give the benefit of doubt when there were tech issues in the previous stream and will continue that form going forward.

No need to apologise but comparisons from old to new are everywhere no matter what

Lewis, Stuart and co were not exempt from criticism.

  8. 7 minutes ago, Jimmy1876 said:

Ah you're right in those 5 I included games where there was no audio or the picture was so stuttered I switched it off. Fair enough there was a "stream" available though.

As I said preseason was confirmed to be a test for the new system, issues of which were resolved from what I noticed? Was at the game last week so don't know about that. But please stop pretending this is outwith the normal and a much worse service when it's been a test for pre season and 1 home game. I get specific complaints, as I said I'm annoyed I can't watch today but pitting the old team vs the new is pretty low in my opinion.

It is way out with the normal, I've missed twice as many games now than last season.

You are always gonna get compared with old, see Lang v McKay, Spencer v McGinn to just bring one example.

Still Ladbrokes being c#nts and Tranmere being one down ain't helped matters for me

Have just gone to check because I was sure this happened more often than that as I said I'm quite a regular user. From the old Falkirk TV twitter it happened 5 times at different games last season, one of which required them to use the ParsTV stream instead.

    Five ?

I never missed 5 games last season from Falkirk TV, alloa midweek game  the work commitments game I mentioned of which I had problems logging in to alloa tv and complained accordingly.

I'll cut slack with new guys but if you are providing a service and it's poor you are gonna get complaints.

We seen plenty complaints from partick TV recently and COVID times paying more than Falkirk tv for a camera that followed bald heads in many of the covered games, our service went off too at partick game, we also had a drop last week and today this.

It's Tranmere rovers for me today with a phone on alert

It happened at least a few times last season and the one before?

Only ones I can remember is Edinburgh city and they advised might be issues with cup game at wick but don't think there was.

As said previously, taking advice from Lewis and Stuart would've been the thing to do before a ball was kicked.

The game would be on FTV if they were still here. I said at the time the new guys have very big shoes to fill.....so far that is proving to be 100% correct

I don’t live overseas so don’t pay that much attention but it has certainly happened a few times in recent years if I remember correctly.

Not much in recent years, only one game due to work commitments for midweek fixture and they had issues Edinburgh city(new ground can bring issues)

There used to be games that they couldn’t cover because of connectivity before they switched provider so not really sure what your point is.

Presumably there’s no power/internet/both available at the ground.

I had my fears they'd be problems today.

I'm sure they could've asked Lewis and Stuart re grounds that have issues and how they resolved the issue.

It was a very rare occurrence that Lewis and Stuart failed to deliver the service, way way back a few issues but it was resolved with experience going forward.

It is the style of football of the future and will become the norm.

Just as the day of the specialized winger or a sweeper is a thing of the past

I can't see it myself, money is and will always be key and teams will always try to play to their budgets and strengths.

Burnley played some nice stuff last night but didn't fully lay a glove on Man City, Burnley probably had closer games under Sean Dyche over the years.

There is blurring now in the full back roll in fact the definition of a full back is obsolete.

Manchester City with the Christmas Tree 3-2-4-1 formation is the future.

3 central defenders that can break from the back. 2  holding midfield players, 4 midfield players where the full back / wing back are. 1 center forward. By swamping midfield with 6 players the danger that the full-back traditionally dealt with is no longer there.

All fine when you have a billion pounds or so and not full of free transfers to make any formation work for you.

A style of football and be willing to have plan b or c goes more for you away from the millionaire end of football.

On the subject of shite midfielders, how refreshing is it to have someone that cannot only pass and tackle but actually run in Brad Spencer.

After some of the caravan towers we've had in recent seasons like Paton, Todd, G Miller, Alston (2nd spell), Gomis, Hetherington, McGinn etc it looks like we've finally got someone that has the legs to both protect the defense and be dangerous on the attack. Keeping him fit this season will be vital imo

Paton Todd, Alston 2nd spell and Hetherington yep...

Very harsh on Gomis for me, class act. I'd have prince Bauben/bawbag in there. I'd have kept Gomis another year tbh, he was a stick out for Clyde for a reason against us....not the AGM board reason.

G miller did a job and maybe a year too long albeit he was needed when we signed charlatans, hopefully McGinn does similar job and steps up when needed. The league cup schedule and our injury list didn't help McGinn. I'm not suggesting he is aok to play a full season but he is very much there to put a marker on this season for us.

  16. I don't think the ref was as bad as plenty of last season, first Morrison pen claim not one, 2nd one sometimes you get sometimes you don't scenario for me.

Wonder goal by Morrison, obviously on his right foot and yep that can be a tactic for him to cut in on his right but his general wing play wasn't up to what he is capable of due to him being on the left for me.

Yeats aok right back but the difference when pushed into midfield was huge..

Donaldson had decent game bar a shaky 10 mins start of the 2nd half but you never seen Lang doing last ditch challenges and headers like he has in recent weeks.

Overall it's something to build on, 3pts next week and I'll have a bigger smile 😁😁😁

  17. Front three isn't working....

I say front three loosely,...give me two up top anyday, you won't see one of the two backtracking runs into the defending box.

We haven't passed the ball well at all today, part new pitch(not slagging pitch here) and part down to players.

When you have Donaldson down as the best player in first 45 v Annan...you know it's not went well

Dundee Utd absolutely riding Arbroath away from home.... Certainly puts some of the more extreme reactions to our very narrow defeat into some sort of context for this Bairn.

Adding Gallagher and Moult has made them a different challenge. Both of them strolling the game.

The league cup is not something I'd fully judge teams on, good to gain confidence going into the season but it's a fancier challenge cup now....only just fancier tho ...

Quite liked big Krasniqui. Always thought he didn't get enough show time at the Stadium.

I'd have liked to have seen more of Krasniqui but our manager at the time rated Hetherington and Michael Ruth for the first 11.

As for Nielson, looked decent but fell off a cliff at the end, Pele, beckenbauer etc would've too under a Holt management.

We have had some decent loans in recent years and I'm hopeful some will come in once the season starts, sure we got a couple in pre our 2nd league game last season.

I think you maybe need a wee catch up. There are plenty of folk who claimed that he didn't target a RB and the 30 miles thing has been reprised. (wee music reference for you there.)

I did ask if there is anyone that is in the mind that McGlynn didn't try and sign a right back.

As for 30 miles, one person isn't exactly an outcry like it was under Houstie.

I've just listened to Regan Hendry podcast, speaks highly of McGlynn and confirms we were in for him under the M&M management but he choose Raith because of McGlynn.
