  1. I'm sure the stadium at the front of the picture is the White City Stadium which hosted speedway and stock car racing. I think the M8 runs through it now.

The stadium in the middle will be either Benburb or St Anthonys old ground.

It was the White City stadium. The other one was The Albion dog track. St Anthony's junior ground is also in the photo to the left of the gasometer. Tinto Park (Benburb) was close by but not in this photo I'm sure. Prob out of shot to the left.

  2. I dont know how you can say that I thought he handled it quite well considering what he was up against ashfield didn't look as if they were interested in playing football ,I thought all the bookings were justified although I would say the sending off should have came sooner and the goalie should have walked.

the punishment messi was taking was scandelous.

Aye right mate, apart from the fact that the first Glencairn goal was handball, the Glencairn penalty never was, and the Glencairn keeper handled outside the box and stayed on, he was superb! I'm a neutral, clearly you need to surgically remove your biased glasses

  3. Was doing a wee bit of digging into my family tree and found a couple of relatives who played junior football pre war.

My dad didn't and my grandfathers only ever played with good amateur teams.

Have you got any relatives who have played junior football over the years , brother , dad, uncle , great uncle , cousin , grandfather , great grandfather.

My sister played with quite a few Ayrshire teams in the 70s. One or two issues arose, but we don't speak about them now :shutup
