  1. I didn't understand the reaction to this from some quarters, it was a dreadful war of attrition between two guys that shouldn't be fighting anymore.  I continually thought my WIFI was buffering it was that slow paced.

The "Lifelong Morton fan" is quoted in the article shared by this muppet saying he was thinking about signing for another Championship club just so he could beat Morton.

I wasn't 100% sure how to interpret that tbh.  Was it just to be back playing at Cappielow or a massive f**k you to the fans who've always spoke nothing but highly of him.  It was that quote in particular that left a bad taste in my mouth.

I met some people from Hamilton at the Euros who know Dougie and his family, and I wouldn't repeat what they said as it was far worse than anything I said to get me banned from the Morton Forum. However they confirmed he has a massive chip on his shoulder about the start of his own career and his attitude to our academy players would be completely in step with his persona.

Not that I believe you were even at the Euros but even indulging you for the purpose of a reply it's quite astonishing that amongst 200,000 Scots you managed to not only bump into folk from Hamilton but said folk just happened to know the Imrie family.  How fortunate.  Lying b*****d.

  4. I don't normally tend to buy into these daft theories but my friend who has lived in Tenerife for around 20 years says the girl Lucy is a known dealer on the island and is barred from most pubs and clubs in Las Americas and Los Cristianos so maybe there is some truth to the rumour he's fallen foul of the Moroccans.  Which is what the chat is amongst the locals in Adeje where he stays.

Ben Whitaker really is an arse

The definition of hype job.  Easy on the eye but no power and will be found out before long.  Willy Hutchison would be a great match up and one he'd lose.

When have you been stuck out in the elements at Cappielow when there hasn’t been a viable alternative?

I can’t remember a time since the away section of the Cowshed was pulled apart in 1999 that away fans haven’t at least had the option of sitting in the main stand, and nor can I remember that section of the main stand being completely filled by the Ayr fans.

I’m not denying that you may well have stood out in the rain, or that the main stand my not be to your liking because of the leg room or facilities, but you’re just making it up when you say you’re being “stuck out” in the elements. You had a choice.

Admittedly with bigger supports like Partick, Dundee United, Rangers, Hearts and Hibs in recent years, supply for cover will have out-stripped demand and they’d have legitimate grounds for complaint, but that just isn’t the case with Ayr.

    *little Ayr

Airdrie-don’t like (played some decent football last couple of years though)

    Ayr Utd-like

    Dunfermline Athletic-historical rival

    Greenock Morton-don’t like (crooked)

    Hamilton Accies- meh

    Livingston-don’t like (another crooked team)

    Partick Thistle-like

Queen's Park- used to like (imbalance of political power)

    Raith Rovers-all right for fifers

Right, I'll bite at that.  Crooked?

  8. So much for Saudi fights being prime time in the UK.  I'd been up working since 6am, opened my first beer for the Hutchison fight so by the time we'd reached the Bivol fight I was asleep and missed the two HWs 😆

I'm guessing Wilder Zhang must've been well after 1am?

Ford hit Ball with his best, & Ball walked through it

I'm not sure there wasn't a bit of kidology from Ball tbh.  I've got Ball by stoppage between 9-12 at 10/1.

Yeah, and folk thought Josh Taylor was a hard sell to the general public.

I've seen Willy box a couple of times but that's the first I've really heard him speak.  Clearly not his strong point.  Very polished performance though I did fear for him in the latter rounds.

Yes. None of Ayr's capital expenditures hit Ayr's balance sheet. (On that note, neither did any of the assets thus generated, but that's a story for another day.) The season before last, the club not only finished second but then also got six times as much for their top scorer as they did by miraculously conning John Hughes into paying money for Joe Chalmers.

Sugar daddies are a mercurial and finite resource, but the simple fact is that right now Ayr have one and Morten don't. Which is pleasing.

We know seeing as we're not long out the Rae era.  We also know it's not always rosy at the other side.

Our benefactor has built a hub and hospitality suites among other things that are raking loads of cash into the club now, when he goes the infrastructure will still be there generating cash for years to come. Morton on the other hand will be hoping to raise their cash on the goodwill of the supporters and a few sponsors who could disappear at the drop of a hat.

Showing your ignorance here.   There are already plans to develop the area between the Norseman and the cowshed to generate income outwith matchdays.  Imries budget has been curtailed to an extent to accomodate this.  Whether or not your new hospitality area will justify throwing money around the way you are long term remains to be seen.

Morton have turned a healthy profit for the past couple of years now.  Out of curiosity did Ayr?
