  1. Carluke Rovers Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Thomas Devine as the Club’s First Team Manager.

The former Forth Wanderers manager will take charge of the First Team from next week and will meet players and staff on Wednesday in preparation for next weeks fixture v Newmains United. Devine comes with a wealth of experience to the role and will be assisted by current assistant manager John Lennox.

Devine said. “ Firstly I just wanted to say a big thank you to the Commitee for giving me the opportunity to manage this fantastic club.

After speaking to Paul Davies and Stevie Kane it's clear the club have all the right foundations to progress in the pyramid and it's a really exciting time to be coming into the club.

I am really keen to get started, meet the players, many of whom I have good knowledge of and it's great to know I will be coming into a squad with lots of good qualities already established.

My main focus coming in, is to use my experience to help build towards promotion and get the results that will see us challenging at the right end of table.  I have no doubt there are exciting times ahead for Carluke and I'm delighted to now be part of that future.

Paul Davies said  “ We are delighted to have Thomas on board and it was really important to the committee that we retained the services of John Lennox, John Brian and Ritchie Steel. We decided as a committee not to advertise the post and to try and get someone in who we felt could work within the current structure and realise the vision of the club, we spoke to one or two candidates however when Thomas become available we made it our priority to try and get him in.

“John and the backroom staff have been first class and were superb for me when I was in the role, we felt we didn’t want to lose that experience and continuity”

“The committee would like to take this opportunity to wish Thomas, John and the rest of the backroom staff all the best for the future”.

Let the games commence. I'm here to answer any queries about the south. Apologies to @Thejackdaw looks like I won't be moving into Big Rab's old place next the Kirtle Water, just.

Joking aside shocking result for Dalbeattie. Not unexpected at W&B but no way anyone can put a positive spin on it.

Looks like you don't need to move @HorseyGhirl lol , unfortunately the ref decided to send off one of our (Carluke) players after 25 mins even though he said the Carluke player won the ball ,so only losing by one goal after extra time playing at least 90 mins with 10 men the Carluke players can hold their heads up,Good luck to Dalbeatie in the rest of the competition,I'm really proud of the Carluke players they were outstanding today.

  3. Good luck. [emoji106] Don't underestimate the amount of paperwork, courses and qualifications required. The stadium stuff really is only a fraction of the work, the personnel commitment is considerable. I'm sure you have all that in hand though, the club wouldn't have made the commitment to apply and pay the fee without knowing what they were taking on. I wish you well and hope to see a successful outcome at the AGM next summer.
Thanks ,we have been working on getting the paperwork up to scratch for a while now & we had a lot of it in place already with the quality mark award , the stadium only needs a few things , defibrillator (already organised) ,new signage,a covered area for two wheelchairs & helpers & the most expensive part new goals as we need socketed goals instead of the current ones with wheels ,we will start a gofundme page next week to try help with some of the costs & I know it's going to be a hard slog but we will get there & it will eventually help improve the team on the park too .
  4. By initial application are they saying that they've just started the process?
Yip as with the other two clubs who applied this year from the wosfl our initial application was heard at an sfa management meeting last month & was accepted, we now are working towards raising funds over the next two months to get all the upgrades we require to pass the audit & hopefully get it all done in time for next season .
  5. Wasn't sure where to put this as it's a cup tie but hearing Lesmahagow are looking to get Saturdays cup tie with Whitletts Victoria postponed due to the majority of the squad coming down with violent diarrhea.
That hit Carluke a couple weeks ago before we played Lanark ,managed to get 12 players & played the game although at one point I was told we only had 9 available.
  6. Lanark Utd 2 Carluke Rovers 3

A fantastic hard fought win for Carluke today , Carluke turned up with only 12 players due to a tummy bug going through the team & a couple other players injured so I wasn't expecting what actually happened.
Lanark started the brightest & controlled the first 15 mins & got a very soft penalty which they scored ,Carluke came back into the game & got the equaliser & both sides went in at half time equal ,Lanark came out the blocks again & took the lead then with about 20 mins to go Carluke got a great equaliser & pushed hard for the winner which they got with about 5 mins left ,by this time the Lanark team looked dead on their feet & Carluke held on for a great win .

  11. Lanark 3 Carluke 2
Game of 2 halves. Rather fortunate 3 points for us. Carluke had the chances.  They improved at the back when they replaced Sean McKenna who was playing at CB (?!)
First 10 mins cost Carluke today , giving away two stupid goals that shouldn't have happened, second half we clearly dominated but missed that killer touch up front ,just need to pick ourselves up & go again next week .
  12. Carluke Rovers Defender, Reece Lowdon, at his own request, is available for transfer.

Interested parties should contact club manager Derek Wilson on 07984 192905.

The club would like to thank Reece for his service to the Rovers and wish him all the best for the future.FB_IMG_1570740554700.jpeg

  13. Carluke 3 bellshill 0

Great performance & result for Carluke today ,2-0 up after 4 minutes as the rovers caught the hill sleeping ,plenty chances for both teams before Lafferty scored his second & Carlukes 3rd with a delightful lob shot from about 25 yards out , hopefully we can keep up this good run & keep ourselves in the top half .

  14. Great result & performance from the Carluke boys yesterday to get the 3 points ,It was a tough match but Carluke created plenty chances in the first half but couldn't put the pall in the net until the 41st min when a great cross ball was met by the head of Carluke's top scorer Lafferty & he directed the ball I to the bottom corner, Greenock equalized on the stroke of half time , Second half was much like the first with both teams pushing hard then about the 75th min Carluke were reduced to ten men for a second caution & Greenock tried to use the extra man advantage but couldn't find a way through the carluke defence ,on the 85th min during a Carluke attack the ball broke out the box to Carlukes McDonald about 20 yards out & he struck the perfect shot that ricochet off the underside of the bar then off the line before hitting the roof of the net to give Carluke the lead , Greenock tried hard to get back in but the carluke defence held firm & Carluke ran out 2-1 winners
