Amazed that the WRSJFA clubs are blindly following the SJFA commandment of Option Z. Sticking with is going to backfire on them big time. Staying loyal to the ERSJFA whilst they have sat back and watched as clubs left and others are set to follow will ultimately lead to the end of Junior football. The WRSJFA have 2 choices now. Leave and form the WOSL with all clubs going in under a breakaway banner or get in under Option W.
The WRSJFA clubs need to do whatever is best for them and not what's best for others.

I have been against this from day one. What have I said all along ?and all I got was people disagreeing. It was NEVER going to happen under this proposal. Think junior

And it's that dinosaur attitude that will drag every other club down with you !

This pyramid will never come to fruition in the foremat proposed. Junior football is unique in its presence. This is not a dinosaur attitude this is a realistic view. Time will reveal

  3. To me this is the start of the end of junior football as we know it. Clubs will go to the wall. Some will say if they cant stand the heat then leave.. . I remember Talbot on the brink, I remember Hurlford on the brink. It was the local competition and enthusiasm that revived these teams.  Common sense and history dictates that it is impossible for all clubs to be successful .Stop this shameful manipulation of the junior product that is unique in football

Which teams are going to be hiring buses to Gretna and Dalbeattie?

Cumnock are 12th in the league, do you propose that promotion and relegation is suspended just in case clubs move into a different division than their local rivals?

You've got no objections to teams trying to better themselves, but you don't want to join the pyramid system which would allow clubs to do that?

All the teams in the lowland west if gretna and dalbeatie are in the west

I get the impression you have your fingers in your ears as you don't really want to understand.

If it revolves around finance, you have nothing to fear, as it would be the status quo for you and the vast majority of West Region teams.

Please read this slowly    If Glenafton Cumnock and Talbot  go to the Lowland. It is not the status Quo for most teams

I don't think you really know how this works, to be honest.

99% of the teams would still be playing the same teams, in the same league structure. Nothing would change.

That is rubbish Take away 4 six or eight teams from our Premier league and you then have to restructure the leagues . So You would be lucky to have 50% playing the same teams

    Exactly.

Our friend "sweep" (and perhaps the people at his club) appears to be under the misconception that, if the West Region juniors join the pyramid en masse, his club will never play the likes of Auchinleck Talbot, Glenafton Athletic and Cumnock Juniors again.

As I have pointed out, that would only be the case if all three were to gain promotion to tier 5, and to do that they would all need to be good enough to win what is currently the West Region Premiership, then win whatever play-off is agreed to promote to tier 5, and also have a licence in place.

None of that is going to happen any time soon.

But what could happen, though, if the West Region clubs reject the pyramid en masse, is that there could be a breakaway West of Scotland League, and Lugar could very well end up playing none of these teams if they all join the breakaway because of being held back.

It's a no-brainer for me, the teams in the lower leagues have absolutely nothing to fear or lose about the West joining the pyramid en masse. But they have everything to lose potentially if there is a breakaway.

Rubbish there are financial implications for a lot of teams. You said  nothing to lose there is a lot to lose

Only if they got promoted. I know this sounds harsh, but if your club is relying on a couple of "big payday" matches a season to stay financially stable, there are serious issues there. Particularly when the Sectional isn't a universally liked competition, not always taken seriously and could be voted away or change format.

You obviously have never been involved with a smaller junior club..

In my opinion The Pyramid would have financial implications for most teams . Like the hire of team buses to Gretna and Dalbeatie . Look at the Cumnock situation if Talbot get in and Cumnock do not. There are loads of examples where teams would be worse off. As I said in my original post we have no objections to teams trying to better themselves but would they be bettering themselves?

You weren't supposed to be voting on anything, these are only suggestions.  Were you shown the slides as to how each format worked?  The West Regions were supposed to be gathering opinions for each of the four options, not having a vote to decide which one was best, or just blindly backing the option the Board wanted because they have done a deal to stick by the East Region.

This post is the perfect illustration of how some Junior clubs can be easily lead/fooled into believing the Pyramid is bad.

No this post is about the financial impact on some of the smaller clubs

I'm confused by this stance, as surely nothing would change for Lugar if the West Region moved into the pyramid ? You'd still be playing the same teams in the same league structure. you would not be adversely affected in any way whatsoever. It seems from your post that your club think everything is going to change and everyone is going to need a licence. That's just simply not the case.

Is gates against Cumnock Talbot Glenafton surely nothing?Does help to take the confusion away?

What would change for Lugar if the West Region was moved en masse to the pyramid at tier 6/7/8/9?

We would good gates like Cumnock Talbot glenafton and we have no idea what teams would leave and further erode the gates in the west cup etc. The difference would be a lot of money

  12. My club Lugar have always been against a Pyramid systen for the juniors . We are not against any team wanting to progress and to get a licence and go into the Lowland league and perhaps better themselves. In reality how many teams from the west have made application for a licence?. Junior football in my opinion is about village against village  or town against town and the beauty of the Scottish cup draw not travelling 100 miles every second week to play a game of football . This will ultimately lead to the demise of clubs as neighbouring clubs go their own ways. Gates will get worse and the interest will wane more. Mibbae we are about to see noTalbot against Cumnock or no Pollock Arthurlie  unthinkable the consequences and last nights meeting told the clubs nothing about the format of the new set up. The clubs voted blind last night .We do not even know if it will be four six or eight clubs that will leave their respective leagues. I said last year at a meeting that the east would oppose  and the east have opposed. This will take years to come to fruition
