  1. Honestly not seeing why Rovers are playing their chances this season down. Given how honky tonk Dundee have turned out to be there is a real chance of a playoff spot for us/you/Ayr/ICT imo and with it being such a shortened season you’ve made a good start which was imperative. Think there is a real chance this could be a right exciting season for both our clubs.

*until we sign Duku and Hendry in January using the money we stole off local businesses and derail you*

  2. A massive shame no crowds are in for this one as it would have been a fantastic atmosphere in both the away end, following on from tipping old grannies cars in the high street, and the Dunfermline Athletic development squads home end. Two very decent starts by both teams so fingers crossed for an exciting ninety minutes and really looking forward to it. Hearing the Rovers streams have been of decent quality too?

I’ll kick off the Fife Derby bingo card with ‘wee team’, ‘pay your debts’ and ‘Kevin Nisbet’.

  3. Possibly punting the stream as publicly as possible as a reaction to that mad ex pat bloke over on the Pars forum who was trying to claim the board only care about UK based fans. The guys constantly trying to stir shit for the ParsTV folk which is bizarre given they are volunteers providing a service, sometimes the only service just now, for us to watch games. You get some truly deranged individuals on that site.

Comrie would have got forward more than mayo and Martin would have added security that would allowed Thomas to stay higher up the pitch and potentially playing Dow in midfield and having Murray out wide.

I think the main issue causing the lack of chances today was our midfield being too far away from McManus,  A stronger back 4 would allowed them to set themselves higher up.

Josh Edwards was probably the best player on the pitch today and the back four didn’t give Ayr a sniff so unsure what you are looking for to get a ‘stronger back four’.

The reason we didn’t create chances today was that we continually played it into channels for McManus who’d lay it off wide but we’d have no one in the box due to playing one up top and a flat central midfield three. We got a few half decent balls into the box but no one in there to convert so the wide players were certainly not the issue. Crawford being overly cautious basically but take the point and move on. Made for a horrific watch today though.

Booked the game for sat. System easier to use than the pars one tbh.

Not sure what the score will be but can't see a 0-0. Both teams good going forward but have defenders missing.
We haven't played for a full game as yet but remain unbeaten which is odd.

Not sure if Muirhead's suspension kicks in straight away but if it does then we only have him and Walsh missing for tomorrow

Be a big blow for you if it doesn’t!

I'm basing it on what I've seen of both. Shankland is better with his back to goal, and linking play, than Nisbet, and would be an effective lone striker.

Nisbet requires a strike partner, and preferably one who can make space for him so he can drift into the left half space and get away from a marker.

No issues with Shankland getting a call up ahead of Nisbet on experience and how important this set of fixtures is going to be but the points you've made are all completely wrong and evidently based on a couple of games you've seen this season at prem level. Nisbet played on his own regularly for us, including giving Celtic a tough time in the cup, and his link up play as a lone front man was a level above anyone else in the champ last season. Shankland always had someone up top with him or just off him in the 'ten' role including his time at Ayr and could spend 89mins not touching the ball but pop up with a goal out of nowhere.

  7. Thought that Pybus (sorry about the spelling if wrong) looked a decent player and Willie Gibson had Thomas on toast but going forward Queens seemed very light. Was frustrating watching us inviting all that pressure in the last 10/15 but in all honesty we never really looked threatened apart from the pen.

f**k it we grind another result out even though neither team actually created anything of note from open play. Maybe that suggests the weather played a bigger part in the game than we are giving it credit for? Still, a big three points to tough out.

I'm touchy about accuracy, not whether or not we get thumped by Dunfermline. I could say we've dished out a few thumpings over recent years to Dunfermline. It would also be utter codswallop though.

No, because I looked back to see when we last lost more than 3 to Dunfermline other than those two games as I couldn't recall doing so. Lo and behold it was 1993. It's still irrelevant though. Whether we played or didn't play, you weren't handing out regular shoeings against us over recent years.

Agree entirely that generally the games are dreadful though. In current circumstances, a turgid 0-0 draw would be perfectly acceptable for us. I'm not expecting to get anything at EEP.

Now who's being touchy? The fact is the 2008 match saw us field a fringe side for very obvious reasons.

    Not once.

That's not the point though. The fact is the suggestion of a "fair number of hammerings" actually meant two, the most recent of which was 9 years ago.
