  1. I've looked through a bit of this thread and the pictures are fantastic.

a couple of weeks back, we went on a visit to Easdale Island and loved it

In a couple of weeks time we're back in Scotland again and want to do a bit of camping, either on a site or just wherever. Are there any other little island that are nice to visit that wont absolutely take the piss with a fare for the ferry?

  2. Has anyone used them?

I'm in the process of getting a new motor and they seem to check out, just buying a car remotely seems inherently wrong.

*And their "Cazoo-yeah you can" advert makes me jealous of deaf people. Definitely points off there

Barrow were ex-League, Salford bought a place (had the Mancs gone with anyone from Alnwick to Penzance they would have got in).  But given the numbers that have got into the League over the years, there are few exceptions, and Morecambe and Fleetwood are significant overachievers given their catchment areas.  Fleetwood is smaller than Wishaw for instance.  Should never be big enough to support a League club but they're flourishing.

Also a great General Ignorance trivia question - which League club plays at the Highbury ground?

Pretty sure it's Fleetwood... Played there myself weirdly!

I popped in to see the ground a couple of weeks ago.

The railing around the pitch and one of the bus shelters that were used as dugouts had been removed but the grass was still being cut.

I’ve said in this forum before that I used to enjoy going to evening games at Steelend. Be a shame to see it go but highly unlikely to ever see a team formed there again.

Yeah and I think that's the crux of it. It's too wee a place to support a junior / EOS side

23 races - it's too many. For me the sweet spot is 17/18 races a season.

    This.

But I think it's not for us, it's for the new fans, they want it to be like football where's one most weeks. For me it makes it more difficult to follow. I like watching a bit of practice, Quali and race, plus the support races. 23 times a year that's not really feasible, it's not really currently.

    IMO

Feeling is cars slightly out of control and running wide could loose it on gravel rather than recover.

Fair enough. Could they look at the sandpaper type stuff at Paul Ricard?

Chain bear on YouTube did a good video (as he always does) on the subject and mentioned the forthcoming changes.

  7. Whilst I'm frustrated I'm not sure what else they could have done really.

The F3 and Porsche Super Cup races went ahead in quite bad but yay better than the F1 race. Presumably this was in the forecast. In days gone by they could have moved the race forward the 6 hours or whatever,. UT that's just not how the modern world works.

Aso, whilst Lewis Hamilton's insta posts might be well intentioned about refunds, it's worth remembering most of the European races are on a financial knife edge and paying back all the spectators could (I don't know for sure obviously) see it off the calendar.... To be replaced by another Gulf state race.

On that, Qatar if it happens will be absolutely shite a series of medium / high speed corners, great for bikes, not so for formula cars.

Yes he does, otherwise there would be no point in having drivers.

You think Hamilton got into F1 with his own money?

I always thought he was part of the McLaren young driver program that invested in young talent, so his background made no difference once he was on the program.

Karting is expensive so his family would have had to have money to pay for all this.

It was a big deal when he got into F1 initially, that his dad worked 2 jobs to pay for it.

I'm not a Hamilton fan, at all, but he didn't have the luxuries of Stroll/Mazepin/Norris/Latifi and yes, Verstappen (who I go off more every race)

He did get picked up by McLaren in karting if I remember, but they're not going down the local track and picking up whoever wins a heat, you're having to consistently one of the top in the country. Wasn't it at the Autosport awards when he was getting an award or something that he met Ron Dennis?

I think I remember from beyond the grid, that Ocon's dad owned a garage or something? So didn't have the initial backing either.

Also, as much of a haddie as Bottas is.....what a race he gave us!

Red bull have now launched their appeal against Hamilton’s penalty. This is getting out of hand now, i could see red bull’s head going and completely folding if they keep greeting about this for much longer

genuinely want to see a Merc take out an RB at the next race now

There was some amount of nonsense going on in that Formula E race. Most of it from Di Grassi who used the pit lane as shortcut to overtake everyone during a safety car and then was black flagged after not taking his stop and go penalty. He also ignored the black flag and crossed the finish line first.

I really like watching FE, there's rare;y a dull race.

But today was all a bit amateurish... not for the first time this season.

  11. I'm sat watching Formula-E, with Buemi being his usual Muppet self.

I absolutely cannot stand him, an average driver with the arrogance of a multiple world champion.

What other drivers absolutely rip the knitting of the P&B masses?

    * Points off for the following

         •Hamilton / Verstappen

•"FE sounds like a hoover lolz"

  12. I'm a fan of neither of them, but f**k me Red Bull need to get over themselves.

     https://www.planetf1.com/news/red-bull-no-revenge-maybe-legal-action/

There was a point a few years back when Verstappen crashed into anything that moved and a lot of things that didn't, so a bit rich to call Hamilton a reckless driver.... well at least since 07/08 with Massa!

Theres also been few times that Max has done the old Senna thing of "I'll put my car here and it's up to you whether we have an accident or not" which usually is fine, but sooner or later someone will come with that same attitude.

Neither intended to have the crash but certainly both could have done more to avoid it.

Having an incident like that is also good for the sport, we still talk about Senna / Prost 30 years later!
