  1. Pleased to have secured safety with a game left.  Didn't fancy going to Montrose knowing that we needed to get something.  At least we can now relax a little and put this whole sorry season to bed.

I was surprised yesterday by how little Cove offered given what was at stake for them.  I never felt that we were under any pressure.  From our viewpoint though hopefully this means that we don't ever have to see a number of this rabble in a Queens shirt ever again!  Don't know if the players done a lap of dishonour yesterday as I was away as soon as the final whistle went.  Narrowly avoiding relegation playoffs is no reason for me to celebrate.

  2. After the Annan debacle I thought that it was not possible to get any worse.  Then along comes Bartley to prove that it is entirely possible.

What on earth is he trying to achieve with his negative tactics?  Chopping and changing personnel every week, little or no organisation.  A complete and utter charlatan who should be long gone.  Edinburgh next week sets us up for another shambles.

I have given up listening to the post match interviews, the same tame questions every week.  Hardly surprising that the answers are the same.

Can't call this game as we are either pretty good or total guff away from home this season , 3 points would be more than welcome and we seem to do alright against you guys somehow one things for certain there will be goals

Should be an interesting game then, as our home form is pretty bad.  From our view 3 points for us would be also be welcomed.

  4. Not much I can add to this that hasn't already been said.  We were ok in spells but when Falkirk inevitably scored we collapsed like a beach hut in a Benny Hill sketch.

A blind man could see that playing such a high line was going to prove suicidal.  Just what was Bartley hoping to achieve by that?  When our board made the decision to appoint him they deprived a circus of its clown!

I'll think of some potential candidates and send you a DM in case it turns out to be true. I'm not convinced the board will make a ballsy decision although it needs to be done. 2 years left on his contract is hard to stomach

I'm surprised to read that Hartley has 2 years left on his contract.  Genuinely didn't know his deal was so long.  Do you think your board are capable (unlike ours who clearly aren't) of binning him if necessary?

Did they lower the prices? Last time it was a food truck kind of thing and the prices were quite simply fucking disgraceful. I don't know if that was Annan's doing though, they may well have just let the company pay them a price to sell there.

    Prices yesterday were extortionate.

  7. Deliberately waited until today before posting, in order to let yesterdays debacle sink in.  Just when you think it is impossible to be any more of a seething mess along comes Bartley to demonstrate that this is indeed possible!  Starting Mumbungo wide right and McKay in defence was beyond logic.  Reilly became more and more isolated as the game progressed.

Both goals perfectly avoidable if we do the basics of marking.  What on earth do we do in training all week?  It should be obvious to Bartley by now that he has lost the respect of his players.  Can't blame them for not playing for him given his willingness to throw them under the bus at every opportunity.  Haven't watched his after match interview but no doubt it will consist of more of the same about game plans and individual errors.

Well done to Annan,  they were due a win against us.  They wanted it more, and have a team spirit and commitment that we lack.

  8. Hard to see anything other than an Annan win here with our solitary striker spending the entire game chasing scraps.  While their team is limited in quality they are at least showing a bit of fight.  Something of an alien concept to our team.

Can you please wait until after Saturday so make a decision, so we can at least make the first stage of this happen. All joking aside, from an outsiders point of view it's absolutely baffling as to why Bartley is in a job. I can see why your board went for him in the first place and why they appeared to back him in the summer, but I can't for the life of me understand what he is doing for them to stick by him. When a team has the set up and target of promotion.....and I'm guessing a competitive budget to achieve that aim, then it's absolute failure to be sitting 8th (with the potential to drop further) at this point in the season. All be it in League 2, but we have been there with a large number of managers over the recent years, good guys that just weren't hitting the aims of the club, and there's only so long you can back them for.

I'm sure QOS fans don't need me pointing that out to them, but what I would like to say is that I am a semi regular listener to the Clyde Super Scoreboard podcast and I always find it cringe when Bartley, Duffy and Wilson comment on other teams affairs when they have made such a booboo out of their management stints at QoS, Clyde and of course Brechin, and in the case of the 3 of them, leave a team in a far worse position than when they took over. Imagine having the brass neck to sit there getting paid for an opinion when you can't get your own house in order. Surely that's something that also irks your support?

I know his previous stint as manager didn't go well but I'm a big fan of McCall and i'm sure he would love one last crack of the job to turn things around for you (am I right in thinking you were his boyhood club as well) and given what I would probably guess would be a full squad to rebuild, then I think he would do a cracking job at that. Although I haven't read it anywhere, when McCall was on the Scottish Football podcast after his appointment at Clyde, it came across strongly that he was only there until the summer and when he knew what was happening he would discuss things further with Maitland. I could be wrong, I don't know, but it certainly came across as that.

While I'm not a listener to Super Scoreboard I know he is a regular on the programme.  It always makes my blood boil when managers talk with such authority on other teams affairs (and ignoring the failings in their own teams).  Maybe they should spend a bit more time on their own teams affairs and a bit less pontificating about others.  I agree with the rest of your post also.  You are no different from most of us when you can't understand why he is still in the post.  He must be talking a very good game to our BOD!

No need for you to panic though, this will probably be the easiest 3 points you will get all season.

I wonder if this is set up for a McCall return? I doubt he'll be inundated with offers after his stint at Clyde (I'm assuming he has a year contract) and realistically I don't think we're that attractive to any half way decent experienced managers.

Not sure that right now we're that attractive to incompetent experienced managers either.

Surely after the season we've had so far he'll have to get sacked in the summer?

Would be ridiculous to scrape an 8th place finish 20 points shy of the playoffs (clearly the minimum target) and then be allowed to just go again next year!?

So yeah that's probably what our board will do 🤦

I think at this rate we will be lucky to get 8th place.  I can see us easily losing to Stirling and Annan which would place us in a struggle to avoid 9th. This charlatan can't be allowed to continue to the end of the season.  Action is long overdue from a board that is known for inaction.

  12. Sadly it is getting harder and harder to find motivation to rock up at Palmerston these days.  Hardly surprising when we are treated to Bartley's own unique brand of negative football.  Tomorrow however is his big chance to showcase his talents live to an entire nation.

On the subject of players arriving late, I agree with a previous poster that this seems to be used as a convenient excuse following a poorer than usual performance.  It is clearly something that needs to be dealt with but keep it in house.  Continually outing this as an excuse does not do us any favours and points to a lack of professionalism.

  13. This is where Bartley gets to show off his brand of anti-football live to a grateful viewing public.  Will he chunter on about adhering to the "game plan" on live TV?

To get anything from this game a massive improvement from yesterdays shambles is needed.  Can't see much of an improvement coming though.  I think a number of our players have long since stopped playing for him.

As has been said previously I’d like to see three changes from last weeks starting 11.

This should be a relatively easy win for us, but we must take Bartley’s line-up and game plan into account.

City’s young team no doubt will be full of enthusiasm and hopefully they’ll be feeling the effects of their midweek game.

Bold, I know but I’m going for a 4-0 win for Queens to try and keep our diminishing chances of the play-offs alive!

What could possibly go wrong 🙂

I think he may have run out of ideas but they won’t make a decision on the future until summer is my guess. If he gets us to 4th he gets another go if not he is toast. A shame, I like his intellect but in reality we are no better than the shambolic Gibson era

Saturday was another master class from Bartley on how to set up to not attack your opposition.  I have long since came to the conclusion that he is deluded.  I think he will get to the end of the season given that we have little danger of relegation.  Sadly though I think that 4th place is now beyond us.

  16. Difficult away game here, Cove seem to have improved a bit since we were up there earlier in the season, in the same time we have regressed..  Given Bartleys negative approach to away matches (and matches in general) this is likely to be another turgid watch from our point of view.  The highlight of the day will probably be the pre match drinks.
