  1. Firstly well done St Mirren, my grandson loved the pre match football darts and basketball great to see this at the ground.  Have said from day 1 that VAR in Scotland was a bit pointless due to the number of cameras at games, they rarely get a good angle on a lot of the calls they have to make.  Got to wish Aberdeen all the best in midweek hoping the get through and are in West Ham’s group because on what I watched yesterday it it would make the Hibs result against Villa look respectable.

I'd stick with Olyusana, McMenamin and Kiltie up top.

We've got a decent amount of pace in there and Shaughnessy and Ashcroft aren't the quickest.

I'd rather see Bolton, if match fit,  in at CH in place of Gogic.

However, the midfield did well at the weekend, so do we change it by moving Gogic in there?

Our main worry IMO is McCowan for them, as he's skillful and quick down the right. On form he's a handful.

To be fair to Tanser he dealt well with a better player in Boyle, as did Strain, to extent that hibs were switching wingers

A bit of the puzzler the rumoured Carson fallout considering he recently signed a new deal and is only back at his work a matter of days. Him and Robinson also go back a bit.

Complete speculation of course but the only thing I can think of is that he's returned from his holidays a few kilos heavier than he should be.

If there has been a fallout, could it have happened last season and that was the reason he didn’t play in the last game v Rangers?

Criticising Kibble for the way in which society treated children between 1870 and 1980 is a bit of a stretch I'd say.

I’m not, I was just pointing out it was wrong to point out they have been aiding kids for 160 years.  I don’t have any criticism of the Kibble I worked in that field for 15 years and know first hand the great work they do.  I also know it’s quite common that companies put in bids when at the first stage with partners they have yet to confirm.

Again, to me though, this mistrust is a personal thing, more about Jim Gillespie and Mark McMillan than about Kibble itself.

What is it? A 160 year old charity who help traumatised young people. They want to collaborate with St Mirren as we're a huge part of the community so can help them achieve that aim. This isn't Craig Whyte or Reg Brearley we're cosying up to.

So maybe Gillespie and McMillan aren't "St Mirren men" and might actually support other teams..... Big deal. I'm pretty sure Stephen Robinson wasn't at Forthbank in 1997.

Do you actually believe the Kibble have been helping kids for 160 years? An establishment which in reality was a borstal till the 1980’s and children were beaten on a regular basis.  If you are going to support them then quote the last 40 years not the last 160.

You'd imagine he'd be Birmingham bound then, bigger club and playing at a higher level. Wonder if they have any decent players they could send our way (no Brock Madsens though please).

Wigan will win promotion this year, and Birmingham could well be in trouble though as you say they are a far bigger club and will pay higher wages.

at no time in the last 30 years have Villa averaged a 40,000 gate

of course he didnt make a mistake, Stamford Bridge or Fir Park ? Old Trafford or whatever ever the f**k Love St was replaced with, taking your team to Liverpool or Livingston ?

Villa had an average attendance of 41,000 which was higher than Chelsea pre covid.  They have also submitted plans to increase the capacity from 42k to 62k

"Linked" with Kennedy again, it's in the Record without a single source or quote.
If you believe the Record, and let's be honest that's always a hard ask, then it's apparently between us and County. St Johnstone are out of the race after having to spend way over the odds for MoH and Middleton thanks to them being linked to us.
Underwhelming to say the least, imo. I cannot see what he's actually bring to the side that we either don't have already or would need to change the shape to accommodate.

I could easily see him being utilised Durmus style as a wing back which is exactly what we need.

    Or just use Flynn there

Would be delighted if we could get Jason back if Fraser were to move on. Another ex Saint and ex County is out of contract in the summer, also an ex cup winning team mate of Goody. Graham Carey, bring him home.

A relative of Jason said St Mirren tried to resign him twice, the first time he went on loan to Hibs then this time to RC.  Don’t know if Goodwin would go back a third time

I nearly added that to my post, actually: Jim seems very reluctant to use youth at CH, so I could see us signing an old scrapper/journeyman. I'd certainly say a back-up CH is more pressing that a new striker.

Don't see the need for this to be honest, Foley, Fraser and Tait can all play centre back without weakening an other area of the team.  If it's Tait then Mason at left back if Fraser then Flynn at right back.  If he thought he needed a journeyman as cover surely he would have kept Baird?
