Given the rumors that Dunc is being bankrolled by a director not the club, is it feasible that with compensation, salaries and the pay-off for Dodds & Co the club ultimately couldn't afford Imrie and mentioned director wasnt keen on that route?

That's a fair point tbh. I had just assumed they were starstruck?

Anyone know if Robbo and Dodds still on gardening leave as rumoured?

You can think all you like and to be fair critical thought is a novel concept that is not carried lightly in some quarters.

In my experience, both in a personal capacity in the context of a sme and more broadly, those that are hired and aren't able get moved on, mostly within two years. In extremis it's more like two months.

Scot, that'll be just the one t, will shortly be presented with an award for five years of service so it appears that your view is indeed not universal.

It's true that there is a cohort on here, including deeply unserious Dundee contributors, that take a repetitive, some might say asinine position on this matter but that should never be confused with real world actualité

Problem is though they are right re him!!

And basically admitting he was on the verge of being canned before we won against Arbroath. Seems more and more likely Dodds has been the fall guy for the increasing heat Gardiner and Robertson have come under. Dodds obviously has been under pressure as well of course but I feel more and more like this sacking was to take some of the heat off SG more than anything.

    Of course he is.

I think the interviews with the CEO in the press today scream business as usual as club continue not to listen and the equivalent of fingers in ears singing la la la

I questioned earlier on here where the Scottish Cup run money went, which must have been heading towards a million, and I was told that it was mostly used to repay the directors loans.

The loans were. I'm told, monies Directors loaned to cover the wage bill.

Not to be confused with Company Directors loans which is a completely different entity.

Yes I believe that's accurate re SC monies. Therefore I'd argue getting big earners off wage bill can only be a good thing?

This rhetoric about the board is dangerous. The generosity of the board is literally the only reason the club still exists.

Gardiner yes, Robbo yes, Dodds absolutely yes, and some of their decisions (2 year deal) have obviously not worked out however I don’t think the above can be neglected.

Their generosity is paying big bucks for the gents mentioned above though? I'd rather their money spent on the team

They, whoever they are, Directors? must have been putting in big bucks as the prize money, gate receipts and Radio/TV money over the three games was substantial, Celtic received over £600,000 prize money for the final alone.

Obviously there were operating costs and tax after that.

They must have put in contractual loans which will show in next years set of accounts.

But it begs the question as to why no real money was set aside for transfers.

Years to come Dodds will use the injuries and lack of money excuses for his failures.

While we languish in the lower leagues.

    They are/were

That’s possible. I’ve been told it’s not uncommon for some championship teams to select certain seasons for throwing the kitchen sink at it (not saying that’s what we’re doing.)

There’s a good 6 figures between Gardiner and Robertson that would be handy just now. I’m advocating for @SandyCromarty to interview the CEO on the podcast. We need answers in regards to the Freeport and Battery Storage.

Between or each? I'm told they are both on six figure salaries?

Boyd and Woods released, indicates the rest have been offered terms.

Time for everyone to get behind Dodds, I’ve been his biggest critic but in reality this season was a write off with he injury crisis. Nobody is going to achieve anything pissing and moaning. Maybe he will go on to repeat the mistakes of previous seasons, but let’s hope not.

If you’re talking about not renewing your season ticket because of one man give your head a wobble. The club needs your cash more than ever. If you can afford it and truly care about ICT, get it bought regardless

Not sure tbh I'm really on fence re my ST.

Will not be renewing straight away. Let's see who is staying and coming in

I forget that it’s only people that are buying for families that are allowed to have an opinion on this.

That's not what I said? I just think for most families over £100 for tickets then same for transport and food over and above is a lot?

There will obviously be single folk struggling to afford it too

The only way for us to go up this season was winning the league. The injury crisis made that practically impossible. The play-offs were practically impossible too due to the huge fixture schedule.

The injury crisis meant for several months we were having to regularly field players described by most of you as being bad signings or not at the required level - yet somehow you expected a team severely lacking in quality in your own words, that’s apparently not at the level, to win. The club clearly stated for months the bad run caused by injuries would ease once the players returned, they were right.

I have argued from the beginning that this season the biggest problem was injures and that was proved correct. We were joint top in October, slipped, bounced back but unfortunately came up a few points short. Is anyone seriously going to argue injuries weren’t the biggest issue? There’s clearly evidence to suggest it was.

The second biggest issue for me and it’s something Dodds and Robertson are culpable for is recruitment. I think if we’d signed better the injury crisis would’ve been far less impactful and therefore we’d have been challenging. This next season is absolutely crucial.

People can argue Dodds cost us X points against Hamilton for example and that’s fair enough, we could go through individual errors and see how much that cost us too. There’s a multitude of reasons. However, these weren’t the main issues - injuries and recruitment were.

How much input was Dodds allowed in reality?
