We play creative midfielders up front 90% of the time who I think would be good enough in their natural positions if we had a striker? A long ball to players who are good with the ball at their feet is madness
Who?

Only player we have who drives from there, can’t get a start for love nor money. Likes to bring him off the bench when the game is lost already.
It is very strange Paterson hasn't had a run.

Yeah it isn't the midfield we need to improve, it's glaring that we need a striker and has been from the end of last season
The midfield absolutely needs improved, our options are a joke -- nobody is creating anything and we've no drive from in there.

God knows where his best position is to be honest but more effective on the wing I reckon. Thought Hutchy deserved to come back but that's about it.
I reckon 90% of the playing squad aren't playing for the manager now and they are all going through the motions.
Oh yeah, forgot about Hutchison. I haven't seen Watson be effective once.
I disagree that they're going through the motions, I just think they aren't good enough.

I missed today's game and by the sound of it i'm one of the lucky ones for doing so!
Haven't seen Mckinnon acknowledge the fans since his forest green stint! He desperately needs to go before it is too late.
Seb and Daz are never strikers, Cammy and Euan are supposed to be and can't even get a start, because they are both garbage. How did Dylan do today? Seen he was hooked at halftime?
What is "Daz"? He's no winger either. I couldn't believe McKinnon brought him back in the summer, but I said that about all the players he brought back, who were clearly not up to it last season.

You’ve got to take a chance and hope another manager would get them motivated or set up better with an actual game plan.
the time is now we cannot afford to plod along like this any longer
I've thought for a while he'd keep us up and I would just live with the dire football, because we can't be dropping out the League but yeah I think you might be right and enough is enough.

I'm not convinced a different manager would do anything with this squad, the horse might've bolted in any case. Middle to front is packed with non league plodders. We're in a right pickle now.

Stenny aren't head and shoulders above, they were poor, but at least they had a solid shape, an out ball, and players where they should be. They're merely competent against the rest of us who are a shambles
Exactly, the League is dire.
We've been playing the same soul destroying way all season.

Doomed.
The happyclappers will see it as a positive result. Three shots was it? Embarrassing.
I can't imagine giving up time and money to follow this nonsense.

Would have been worth a substantial amount of money to us if he was selected
Heard yesterday there's no payouts to clubs for this tournament.

What about the times he’d run to press a player at 1mph and if the defender kept a hold of the ball then Matty would just stand still infront of him and do f**k all.
What about the times he was through for a clear shot at goal but randomly decided he wanted to do a quick 360 with the ball before taking his shot.
What about the times where he would get complete and utter bullied on the park.
What about the times where he would simply not put in any effort at all.
He simply had to go.
Whataboutery.

Aitken is enjoying his best season of his career. Good for him. He's playing in a team with more quality than he had at forfar. What on earth makes you think he'd have had a start like he's had at station park?
He's had 2 bites of the cherry at us, his highest tally being 10 goals.
I'm glad he's doing well, clearly needed to venture out to somewhere new to get his career on track.
Should I start bemoaning the fact we let Ouzy See go because he's scored goals elsewhere?
You could put prime Ronaldo Nazario in the forfar squad and he wouldn't score 12 goals.
Bottom line is Aitken is a far better option than anything we have now, including Skelly, which was the original point.

He was mince last season. Stop acting like he was the second coming of Pele.
Armour was better, hence he played more.
Where am I acting like that?
Armour is clearly not better though is he?
6 minutes ago, May Rckinnon said:He played 35 times last season.
Not from the start though, you've literally just said Armour played more!?

Maybe if he showed the same level of ability. He was poor at us and has obviously realised what parts of his game he needs to improve on so fair play to him.
He wasn't poor at us. He scored goals and was teeing them up left, right and centre season before last. He didn't get a run last season and when he did play we didn't play to his strengths.

Comfortable 3-0 win for Stenny incoming.
I, for one, can not wait to see us start with massive goal threats such as Euan Mutale. Or Cameron Ferguson. Or Darren Watson.
If only the Leagues top scorer hadn't been hounded out of the club eh?

Watched the highlights earlier, Skelly’s red card looks even more ridiculous than I thought, why is he lunging in like that?
You just can’t get away with jumping in like that these days, just stupid.
Yep, it's an obvious red and as you say why is he flying in like that?
McKinnon saying there will be changes in January is, at last something positive.

Sorry where do you think I was pushing 3-5-2?
I only mentioned if we play 5 in the middle?
1 hour ago, farfirloon said:If we play a 3-5-2, why wouldn't you want 2 sitting?? If it was Robson or Kinglis then they can see that pass from deeper??
We haven't played 3-5-2 (just about the only thing he hasn't tried) so assumed you wanted it, no?

I don't think that makes it negative when playing 3 at the back.
I'd love a 4-4-2 also but who would you play? We have one decent striker at the moment... and only because he works hard
I don't understand, you're pushing for 3-5-2, so two up top also?

Exactly, very tough!
some guys beside me screaming at strikers to PRESS!PRESS!!
I don’t think they realise just how hard that is, chasing a pointless ball all the way along the back 4 and back again.
Agreed. Probably the same folk who used to lose the plot at Aitken...

Kinglis has been hopeless since he has came back from injury but the potential is there.
If we play a 3-5-2, why wouldn't you want 2 sitting?? If it was Robson or Kinglis then they can see that pass from deeper??
Because I don't want to watch negative football.
We should be back to basics 4-4-2. None of this "sitting midfielders" nonsense.

I agree, I think Patty in the Number 10 role, with a CDM behind, supplying strikers with pace (Seb, Watson, Thomson) would be good to see.
Different story next week though, very tough opponents.
Watson!?

I think we have been the better footballing side often this season, just the link between mid to front like you say is lacking.
Yeah your are spot on with midfield, all too happy to play side to side. Seen us play 5 in midfield this season a few times and would love to see Whatley, Robson/Kinglis siiting and either Patty or Seb in that attacking area.
I have been disappointed with FInn this seasoin compared to last season to be honest, although he has played better these last two weeks.
"Kinglis" is hopeless.
EDIT Also, why would you want two players sitting?

No wins at home is an utterly grim state of affairs. There's a blandness to our squad I haven't seen before.
At what point do we think Matty Aitken will overtake our entire squad?

Ross, I've seen have one or two decent games. Watson is murder. Neither are midfielders.
