  1. SPL want to investigate if Rangers have used EBT to gain an advantage

Rangers simply want to have the right to legally challenge the findings of this investigation if they dont agree with them, SPL want to deny Rangers this so they can be judge jury and executioner

Not how I read it. Rangers will have the right to defend themselves. The SPL had originally said that if their enquiries turn up to have found wrong doing they would take it further. Rangers are saying they dont want things to be taken further. Wonder why???? Because everyone knows they are guilty and that they cheated their way to ten years of success.

  2. Correct, whist it may have not been a great system and you can argue the split of cash wasn't correct, the SPL was founded on the same principles as the EPL, make the rich, richer and chase the dream. In essence the OF wanted made richer and agreed they'd throw a wee bit back to the others with them as they went along. It wasn't right but it is what we have.

The difference being that other clubs have largely satisfied their creditors through offers to pay a percentage. Rangers couldn't do this and are proceeding through liquidation. No club would get away unpunished any more- it was down to having no rules at that time.

Will they? You might come out of it, but I'd say things are shaky. If the other SPL clubs get to vote away the 90% vote resolution, one more gets a shot at Europe and they change the money distribution I don't think they'd be that badly hurt.

One other point I'd add to the above replies is that no other club that went into administration cheated ill people of hospital beds. Cheated children out of proper education. Cheated councils out of the funds required to keep our roads and parks etc up to standard. The biggest crime committed by Rangers is tax evasion and tax avoidance.

  3. I have been accused by some fans of my own club of threatening to turn my back on ICT. I re-iterate here that my stance on all this is that if storting integrity is not maintained and suitable punishments for the crimes committed are not put in place then I will turn my back on the sport I love. I can easily spend a lot less going fishing or walking the hills or even watching another sport. Illegal means have been used to gain advantage and if clubs decide not to punish that severely then those clubs are guilty of aiding and abetting those crimes and that does not bode well with my conscience.

  4. Ok a couple of almost serious questions.

Rainjurs/Club 12 fans claiming they have been punished enough, so far the only punishment as such is the fines from the SFA!

*The 10 point deduction /not playing in Europe are standard rules and failure to meet the relevant criteria to do so)

Do the fines from the SFA apply to Rangers the company or Rangers the football club ? If it;s the former is there any chance of them being paid, if it's the latter then do the fines carry over to Club 12 when the football club passes over to them?

Why would the fines carry over to Dunfermline / Dundee?

  5. I suppose that comes down to the wording of whatever rule amendment they adopted, removing the decision from the Board, and/or any standing orders... e.g. "2/3 of those voting" could see it passed 6-3 with 3 abstentions, whereas "2/3 of the membership" would require 8-4, whereas "2/3 of those voting with abstentions counting as No" would require 8-x+x similarly.

    Who knows.

Assuming the question to be.....Do we accept the application of a Newco to retain the share of the oldco and enter the SPL? 8 yes replies would be required. Abstaining would therefore be treated as no.

  6. Both Dundee and Falkirk applied ages ago, just in case County collapsed or Rangers died. It's a standard bureaucratic procedure..

Just to clarify a point if it hasn't been done in a new page that will have opened before I write this. It is necessary for all div 1 clubs who have a chance of promotion to make application to SPL by 15th March. As league doesn't finish till May then it is normal for those with a chance of winning league to submit application. Falkirk, Dundee and Ross County will all have applied for membership of the SPL to replace the relegated team.

  7. could you expand.

I'm just saying hibs competed well considering the gulf in quality. it was only 1 goal in ti and i could see them getting another. Everyone concentrating on how awful hibs were, which they were after the third hearts goal, but ignoring how horrendous the ref was and who, in my view, completely spoiled the spectacle.

Sorry to disagree with your observations but Hibs (who I actually wanted to win) didn't turn up for the first half hour. The first goal came because the Hibs defender at the post didn't move his arse out after the first phase of the set piece. Had he moved quicker he'd likely have caught Barr offside. Hibs came into the game for a while after they scored and should have come out in the second half fired up by there goal. Instead they lose possesion very quickly and the aforementioned defender gives away a penalty. The ref made the mistake in his decision that the infringement was inside the box but it was still a definite foul. The lad, knowing he had already been booked, should not have reached out and pulled the shirt. He should not have been in the position he was in in the first place. After that heads went down again.

The bottom line is Hibs never turned up.

  8. Can someone correct me if I'm wrong here. My understanding, with Rangers, is that if they stay in administration till the end of the season they will still be in SPL but will be sanctioned with further points reduction at the start of next season. If they are liquidated they will automatically lose their membership of SPL and, as they are not members of SFL then any new team would need to apply for entry into that organisation and start in div 3. Being as there would be a vacancy in SFL 3 due to teams moving up the leagues to fill the void left by the demise of Rangers, and that any new club would likely meet all the criteria for membership of SFL, then I would imagine that new club would be the one of choice. I would also imagine that a large portion of the fanbase of RFC would transfer allegiance to any new club formed meaning that they could afford to retain full time staff and quickly work back up the leagues. They may take a few years to break out of SFL 1 though.
