I want Stranraer to stay up cos of the drive. Really not keen on having to make that trip.

At least it’s only 1 trip a season (excluding cup draws).

Agreed the journey isn’t great but also fair play to the Stranraer fans making those journeys every 2nd week.

East kilbride have always been very competitive every year since the league started. And have always spent more money than most at the level they are at. Should have made it up long before now but haven’t made the right call at the right times and maybe lacked a wee bit of luck thats needed.

They got a wee lift from the celtic game for sure, but it was enough to cover about a seasons worth. To think that was what is driving ek’s spending power now is a wild take.

The guys backing the club are seriously wealthy. And are driven to get the club into the leagues above.

The lowland league has had a lot of very good teams in it throughout the years. Its never been a cakewalk to win right from the first season. As the teams that have went up have shown.

Not to mention the good longstanding clubs that went the other way.

Its also not easy to escape if you have been relegated into as im sure you will agree.

Not sure if you know them personally to answers these but why East Kilbride?

Are they from the town? Supporters previously? Or just a club that came available at the right time?

  3. Sad to see this, a lot of time for The Shire and their fans.

Looked like they had the foundations for a decent team next season too but un sure how much this will effect that.

Not sure who'd be in charge of making a decision like this at the club but surely their position must be under threat now.

Well I thought Cage Warriors was a bit of a let down, not just the fights but the whole set up at Braehead is laughable. Sending everyone outside for drinks, queuing for up to an hour for a proper awful selection at ridiculous prices. I get that these events will have their sponsors and those get pushed but to only have bottles of warm Madri on offer as a beer is criminal. A pish venue.

Bungard let himself down and the sharp exit of absolutely everyone when he tapped said a lot about what the general feeling of the night was. Clancy looks like the only guy who may well have the potential to go far, McEwan was decent but was up against a good fighter in Else.

Some of the fights weren't the greatest and not really enough KOs/TKOs to get the crowd going. To be fair I didn't think the bar prices were too bad considering Hydro etc prices but having to cross the full arena to get outside and sit nearly an hour to get flat beer was far from ideal.

Clancy was who I was excited to see and he looked impressive. Although I have no idea on how good his opponent was.

UFC fight night on this weekend but none of the fights grab my attention too much.

Myself and @Bring Back Paddy Flannery are heading up. Looking forward to it, plenty of home fighters so expecting a really good atmosphere.

Yeah same, exciting to see so many Scottish fighters on the card. Sean Clancy Jr is probably the fighter i’m looking forward to seeing the most.

First time going to any MMA event outside local shows so looking forward to it.

Armadale had a scare but ultimately won. Thornton look to reel-in Bo'ness Athletic.. Edinburgh South to reel-in Armadale... down the bottom Ormiston to reel-in Tweedmouth... but Newburgh are teetering.

Took in the Armadale game today and it was a belter for the neutral. Was surprised to see Newburgh bottom of the league as they were a decent outfit but Armadale deserved their win in the end.

  7. Bo’ness probably don’t have too many individual standouts but it’s hard to see past Musa Digaba as GK and Michael Travis as one CB in a team of the year for me.

Granted i’ve not seen enough of the other contenders in their position but those two have been key to our league position at the moment.

Ryan Porteous was mentioned above and although he has decent numbers and has done alright in his first season at the club I can imagine there has probably been performers throughout the season.

Well I can assure you that’s not how BU have played all year, but the “punt and run” tactic somewhat did the job yesterday. Horses for courses etc…

Totally agree with this. I mean I’m all for having “ultras” in the sense of adding a bit of atmosphere at games, the Ultras 1876 have been fantastic at the Falkirk stadium this year for example. However, the type that turned up “representing” Linlithgow yesterday all blacked out with their faces covered up are the utter dregs - Nothing but thick moronic halfwits, shitebags and cowards.

A bit much that. They’re young boys who tried to get into the football to watch their local team. Assuming they did something wrong not to get into the game but we were all young and stupid once right?

We were very direct yesterday, but Hunter likes to switch the style depending on the opponent / pitch.

I'll admit it can frustrate me a times because you know how good we can be when we get it down and play, but can't fault the results.

The first half we were very direct and it was a sore watch tbh. Second half we mixed it up a bit and it definitely paid dividends. If that was down to Hunter and the coaching team then fair play to them because it made the difference.

A fairly even game, feisty a few times and a cracking crowd. Must have been over 1000.

Game was pretty poor, especially that first half. Decent crowd though always good to see. Shame the Linlithgow young team never got in but i’m sure the stewards had their reasons

Had far too much disappointing moments at Prestonfield over the years to be over confident about this one.

We are certainly favourites but after the return fixture earlier in the season shows that there probably isn’t a massive amount between the teams and when all fit the Rose will be up the top end of the table next year.

    Not a problem.

With the Rose injury problems Boness will start as strong favourites for this one.

    I like your honesty Omni👍

Just a few weeks ago some Belters fans thought a win away to East Kilbride and Tranent were back in the title race, or certainly finish 2nd. Now, there is a chance they might not finish in top 6.

Hopefully they can steady the ship, then prepare for 2024-25.

Very disappointing season for Tranent from the outside looking in. Expected them to really push EK for the league with the team they have.

A decent manager away from being real contenders? 😅
