It's been topical recently in the letters page of the Glasgow Herald. As a matter of interest, does anyone have a rough cost to all of us for that American-controlled nuclear submarine base ten miles down the road from where I'm writing this ?Don’t know how topical this is, but SNP controlled Ayrshire Council have apparently spent £45k on bilingual English/Gaelic road signs.
Gaelic signs. In Ayrshire.
Fucking hell.3 -
Aye, it's all no' happening .....

Tell that to the Labour MPs, especially those who are Jewish, who have been threatened and intimidated by the Momentum thugs.
Go on, provide some specific examples. I've heard a lot about this, but I've yet to see hard, tangible evidence of exactly what has been going on.

Absolutely. There are elements in the US, Bolton being the most obvious, who will literally stop at nothing to fabricate a Causus Belli. Hunt's comments earlier today just reinforce how much of a US poodle the UK has become.Almost all wars the West have been involved in in the last hundred plus years have been instigated by false flat attacks we perpetrated. And pretty much all in the last fifty years have been for oil. You'd have to be an idiot not to be incredibly suspicious here.0 -

Ambition is to Johnson what hard liquor is to an alcoholic; in both cases too much can be fatal.
Boris has been indulged until now because his Fat Owl Of The Remove schtick has never been seriously tested or has led to serious consequences.
The office of Prime Minister has no hiding places and will I reckon quickly expose him as a fraudulent fuckwit.
The braying buffoons of the Tory shires may adore and elevate him, but I'd hazard that there is collective panic engulfing the senior civil servants who await the shambles to come.1 -

The bigger question is, will we still have names and squad numbers next season?
That could precisely be the bigger question, but perhaps not in the way that you mean it

Are you sitting down ? I found out today that Grant Dickie is Gary's son, currently playing with Drumchapel Amateurs. Will people stop mentioning Gary Dickie and Pat Cairney. You are destroying thirty years of therapy.
In ye come Grant !1 -
Or Ryan Thomson, whose involvement in one tawdry incident was despicable. Was there a different view when Lithgow was with us?0 -
Thanks for clearing that up, and I have to say I'm a bit deflated it's confirmed.Agree with your first paragraph in its entirety. However, according to the press report following his trial, the Sheriff directed that he be placed on the Register.0 -
For a start that tone is out of order for a guy who works his socks off on behalf of this club, and on a voluntary basis. Targeting the good guys shows how little you know about the situation at DFC.Another thing...
Where is the social media mouthpiece who was all over the place when we where questioning what was going on with Duffy and the lack of information we were getting from the club.
Wonder what his spin would be on us signing a registered sex offender ??
Secondly, I'd be very careful to check the accuracy of your closing sentence, as that is potentially dangerous territory.11 -
His boy works beside me if you want me to put in a word...As long as it's not Gary Dickie, although the way things are shaping up, anything's possible.0 -
I can't work you guys out....the tumbleweed was blowing thro and then suddenly the Duffster is skiting so leftfield we can hardly keep up. This is shaping up to be the most eclectic squad since 1989 - where's Pat Cairney this weather ?

Was it his sister Lisa ?
Was he not doing well at Stranraer last season?
At least until he started putting his hand up girls skirts at nightclubs.0 -
I think you'll find that Neil Rankine is already very well aware of what's happening at DFC.I wouldn't say that limitless cash is being thrown around by other clubs.
We need an investor, easier said than done though, a few clubs have local businessmen involved with a bit of disposable income, just look at the Lowland League, Kelty Hearts even East Stirlingshire are signing players from our level.
Think I'll write to Neil Rankine & beg him to buy out BrabCo [emoji14]0 -
I think the problem with your last sentence is that whilst it may be candidly honest it hardly represents an enticing recruitment policy. But it may now not matter anyway as football is like any other workplace, and word soon gets round.I still think we are being a bit slow. Maybe it's not by lack of trying behind the scenes but other teams in the league seem a long way ahead of us in terms of squad building. Airdrie seem to be assembling a decent squad, Raith and Falkirk will fancy their chances. The other squads seem to be coming together and we have signed 5? Junior/lowland league players alongside the lesser spotted Rory Loy. Dont think even the most positive Facebook weirdo can argue that things are looking good. I'm happy to give Jim the benefit if the doubt just now but I cant help but feel a bit worried. If we are crippled and stumped due to the budget then so be it, just come out and tell us.
If that word is that we are cash-strapped then the Manager's task becomes very difficult indeed, and willing young wannabes with perhaps 2 or 3 experienced players becomes the only show in town.
Living beyond our means has ceased to be an option, especially since that policy has landed us with the current shitshow.
It might not be pretty but if we can balance the books and stabilise the club then that may be the immediate ambition for now.

Sorry, I've obviously missed the rational discussion. If we can't have rational discussions with Tories who are contemplating ditching the party, and not full scale trolling for a change, then we'll be stuck with the 45% again next time around.0 -
Wind your necks in guys, this Rodger character is either a wind-up merchant or one of the sizeable number of Scots who haven't the wherewithal to look beyond their own narrow self-interest.
I don't mind if these folk don't much fancy independence but experience tells me that they are mostly quite comfortable with 1 in 4 kids here growing up in poverty, rocketing homelessness, etc , as long as it doesn't impinge on their situation. As such, he's a natural Tory.
I'd go for the latter.1 -
Aye, if everyone takes a turn of looking in every two or three hours we may just keep this thread alive.

What matters in all of this is the policies and the political beliefs, not the personal pecadilos. In that respect, every one of these candidates is an utter cuntlet.I can't keep up with how many of these nerds are having every skeleton lobbed out the closet:

Indeed, but I'm much more concerned about their politics than what's been up their nostrils or their arse or wherever.

Maybe Granny, but some that public might be cutting up the food of the Tory Party membership and emptying their colostomy bags, so you wouldn't want to upset these guys.Pointless poll. It’s not the public who decide who the next Tory leader will be.

Some of our rivals seem quick to point out the shortcomings of the youngsters we've signed today, but they and some of our own fans should realise that far from Jim Duffy assembling his squad of choice, this is simply a recognition of the current financial realities at Dumbarton FC.
These lads and the others to come will get my full backing, but I think expectations should be kept realistic for this season and maybe beyond.2
