1. Suspect there  will be more than six tears in the coming weeks, and they will be salty ones, The SFA can't force a league to change something, if they could then am sure the SPFL would look rather different.  Which will leave the west with a choice, stay as you are - or Jexit and convert the west league to a pyramid league.

Cumbo According to this post on another forum Jeanfield are planning on installing floodlights, is that true? https://nonleaguematters.co.uk/forum/gforum.cgi?post=907170#907170

Its news to me. We have lights there that we use for training. It may be connected to pilot scheme that the SFA have chosen us to be part of

What do you use for training?

It's not a pyramid if it's yet another national league. A pyramid has a wide base. And it's entry to the SPFL in name only. It's not an achievement if they just admit more clubs.

The 10-team leagues below the Championship are really unnecessary, as the standard quickly becomes pretty level. Another 12 team league is stupid, fans don't want to be facing the same opposition 3-4 times a season.

If they want the top eight Tier 5 sides in the League and Challenge Cups, they can just admit them.

So getting from Tier 5 to Tier 4 becomes a little easier - good. But what about Tier 6 to Tier 5? It gets worse.

More finance? From where? Are you hoping the existing SPFL clubs subsidise this league, out of their own pockets?

Imagine a league with 11 opponents, in which more than a third of your games are against Highland teams, and more than a third are against the U20 teams of Hibs, Dundee, Hearts and Aberdeen. In whose fevered imagination is that an appealing prospect?

There's nothing about this that is an improvement. We have two leagues at Tier 5, we're on our way to three or four leagues at Tier 6 and things are evolving reasonably enough. Let's just work with that.

The only way things get better is spfl 3 has two relegation places, giving ll an easier way up.

Thanks for posting the minutes.  They back up what Burnieman was saying.

Where does Perth and surrounding areas fit into this?  Not mentioned as part of the EoS

Will lochee join a new tier six league or stay junior? Because the rules and regulations for that league will be that of senior football.

When gradients of pitches was first questioned as being acceptable or not.the question was brought up about bonnyrigg. it was answered at the time, that bonnyriggs pitch met criteria.but that's not to say the governing bodies won't move the goal posts again.(no pun intended) emoji23.png

Ps,wait till next week.

Why what’s happening next week?

Scenario one is the only one where finishing fifth in 18/19 isn’t enough to secure a place in the EOS Premier 19/20. Only two of the fifth places would make it. In scenario six, two sixth placed sides from 18/19 would make it.

Scenario 1 - 17 team league and then the next year fix it at the relegation end

The 16th Premier League spot should be reserved for Clydebank, whose application for entry (tier 6 'arrangement') was agreed on a deferred basis, owing to ground problems for 2018/19.  There is no guarantee that a West pyramid feeder league will be agreed between the PWG and the SJFA. If not, most West clubs might chose to stay Junior.

This may be clearer after the SJFA AGM ?

A west league does not need the agreement of sjfa

The only likely bump in attendance that Camelon would get is if they were to start challenging for the East Superleague. Since they haven't really been doing that of late, it would probably require the committee to run the club like a money pit.

SFA Pyramid might be a better chance for them to win back some support longer term compared to the financial black hole. Get into the EoS Premier as a mid level club against all their other traditional Superleague competition. Everything stays the same.

Then the repeat Superleague champions of the past get promoted and Camelon are suddenly in the spot of being a EoS Premier title challenger. Title challenge brings a wee bump in attendances, promotion brings a wee bump in attendances, battle relegation might bring a wee bump in attendances.

Staying as a perpetual mid level Superleague club wouldn't change anything and the gradual decline continues.

Correct add a club licence and Scottish cup entry and you have a sustainable model for the club, add in the youth system and you actually have a club with a direction, purpose and an objective.

Or we could drift along with death by a thousand cuts.

SFA, do you want to introduce a grace period to introduce a SJFA league at Tier 5?

SFA members in the SPFL = "No"

SFA members in the Lowland League = "No"

SFA members in the EoS = "Wit? After all this we've just gone through! get tae!"

SFA members in the SoS = "shrugs"

Sounds like the next installment of sjfa keep my job play book. Have you boys learned nothing.

In a way it would serve them right obviously, but would the deadline have been extended with this message placed on the official EoS website, if all they wanted to do was to move from 30 to 32 clubs?

The Members of the East of Scotland Football League have decided to extend the last date for the submission of membership applications to 31 May 2018.
The application form can be accessed here.

Doubt it somehow.

Am sure time will

Don't remember who posted the comment "mutually assured decline" recently, but if they don't stop worrying about doing something radical for fear of losing the derby and get together and go for it, it's probably going to be accurate, unfortunately. If they had been bold back when the LL had been formed there's a good chance one of them would be in the SPFL by now.

Everyone is assuming that the league still has space, have they stopped to consider they might need to wait a year and join at tier 7, I can’t see much sympathy for them either tbh

Newtongrange Star FC

Following consultation with our Members, Supporters and the Management team, we the committee of Newtongrange Star have come to the conclusion that the future of the Football Club lies within the Scottish Football Association pyramid system and will therefore be applying for membership of the East of Scotland FA for the coming season 2018/2019.
This has been a very difficult decision to make due to our long history within the Scottish Junior Football Association and the ERSJFA. However, we feel the lack of clarity, the lack of information and the lack of urgency when it became apparent that a lot of clubs were considering leaving the Junior Association means that we must end our time in the Juniors. It was our intention to continue in the Juniors as they progress towards the pyramid but recent events and meetings that we have attended resulted in our belief that the SJFA will be unable to deliver the ERSJFA Superleague the tier 6 level in the pyramid as was first proposed. Bringing the suggestion of a East/West combined league to the table at this stage is further evidence that should this happen then this would be at tier 6 not the East Superleague. We wish the SJFA and  ERSJFA all the best for the future.
As for our own future we intend to work towards the SFA Club Licence and have set up a working group to examine what we require to do to gain the Licence. We also intend to work together with Newtongrange Star Youth Development Academy and enter a under 20's team into the East of Scotland under 20's league. The club must move forward and modernise to ensure the future of the club for the next generations of Star Supporters and Players.
We look forward to the new challenges and forging new friendships in the East Of Scotland FA.

We are a junior club and I'm a junior man always have been. Our catchment area is a weird one for me as we are probably closer to West teams

That ship will sail next year

I imagine a lot of contracts are up shortly anyway, it's nearing the end of the season. How many have multi-year deals anyway? There's always turnover of players. What is certain is that those clubs with a chance of progression to a higher level are going to find it easier to attract ambitious players.

Clubs would like to think that but unfortunately that's not the case. Kelty Bonnyrigg YES they will 100% the others I'm sorry but I know for fact of lots of players not fancying it.

Wait till they see next years super league, suspect that will change overnight
