What’s them being English , if they are, got to do with it?

Clumsily put. What I meant is that if you have moved to Edinburgh Uni from England then you are likely to play for the uni football side as you have no ties to Scotland. Whereas Scottish guys, if they are decent standard will already be at a local Scottish club.

Some of the non Scots in uni sides are a higher standard but play for these teams due to circumstance.

The students one is the biggest anomaly for me. Stirling and Edinburgh Uni will 'almost' have their entire team made up of players under 22 so very similar to the ages of the 'B' teams. These will be players who are good footballers but are obviously not the best in the country at their age and they are directly facing the 'best' players in the country at their age. It is clearly a mismatch and doesn't help the players in the 'B' teams, they surely would be better playing the other youth teams from the premier league teams who would likely be closer to their ability than the students.

Is the Edinburgh Uni not mostly English students anyway? Always difficult to predict how strong these sides would be with the huge turnovers from year to year.

Tremendous to see that there are still plenty of daft wee ***s who still have him living absolutely rent-free in their heads. For that alone I hope he continues 😂

You just keep clapping along like a seal as we embarass ourselves on a world stage with the best squad we've had in 30 years. That Ireland performance was unforgivable

What a fucking diddy league, a club run by a group of arseholes who run a podcast, another one run by rangers fans who built their club on charging french teenagers to play. Lets face it there absolutely is corruption afoot, i wonder how much was in the brown envelopes this year?
Bypassing dozens of better clubs in the leagues below just so all the staunch club blazers can drink out the loving cup and get a picture with a cardboard cut out of gazza or something. Get it so far to f**k.

Celtic are in it as well mate ....

I'm a man of few entrenched political opinions, but those I hold are really fucking entrenched! I am never going to stop believing, for example, that people who voted No in 2014 and Yes in 2016 are thick b*****ds; but I have the tact not to say/write this all the time, and believe that we need to find a way of reaching out to these people and convincing them of the error of their ways. Somehow.

It seems to me that the ongoing discussions of the Juniorocalypse have been reminiscent of this - we're now in the 3rd/4th(?) year of bleating about the Lowland League and it's "glorified boys clubs"/east coast conspiracy against all the fantastic "big" clubs shut out from it by supporters, and indeed representatives, of clubs who refused to engage with it in the first place. Perhaps a more conciliatory approach to the LL would have resulted in a less defensive bunker mentality on it's part, even a willingness to listen to others. Nor are they alone in their venality. Putting aside the more obvious examples, Partick and Brechin's whining about their recent respective relegations were both disappointing in otherwise sensible clubs.

It's probably too late to persuade the LL to change, sadly.

Seems like you're just not a fan of democracy in any means. Russia might be more up your street mate

When they never mentioned the forum by name I guessed it was Follow Follow seems to stem from this.

Except it's been declared publicly that 3 clubs applied by the deadline. That was the whole point of asking for a 19 team league. There also looks to be the common misunderstanding that both Celtic and Rangers were having to apply just like everyone else. They were not guaranteed a spot.

And with a lot of random talking points in the non-league world Darvel is to blame.

Seems a bit of a pointless rumour to make up tbf

  7. Watching rangers B team outplaying hearts 1st team in the last 30 minutes was something special. Have to think that these guys all playing together every week in the Lowland League has made a big difference. All comfortable with how each other play.

100% spot on. The more B teams that build on the success of the Old firm B teams the better.

    What success???

Increased attendance, increased exposure, increased sponsorship. For Rangers, Lowry, King and McCann developing by playing regular competitive football and now playing in the first team. A few have broken through from Celtic as well.

Many playing in Scotland under 21s/18s and doing well

Hope Hibs will make a bid too and Enter their B Team

Like to see Dundee United/Dundee involved in the Midlands possibly. Aberdeen, Inverness in the Highland or North League would be good

Guys drink it in. Development in lower leagues is now the future and for the amount of dislikes that this post will get with your anger its not changing :)

100% spot on. The more B teams that build on the success of the Old firm B teams the better.
