  1. Sorry if this has been asked before, how many individual shareholders are there? I think this is a great idea by the way.

Why the heck would a company want non business people on board? You would have to make sure with great clarity that any person allocated does indeed have a good business acumen. The idea in principle is a good one but any representative is going to be nothing more than a sweetie wife or local gossip on behalf of the fans and shareholders alike. They are never going to be able to have real input or a positive attitude to change things, you might as well just put a secret microphone in the boardroom.

  2. MEET THE MANAGER

The event went well and was attended by about 45 Supporters.

The Manager, Assistant, Physio and Sports Scientist were happy to answer all questions and in a full and frank manner with no little humour.

Sandy was delightedly surprised by his Birthday Cake and rendition of Happy Birthday.

Allan, Sandy, Crawford and Andrew then spent time mixing with those there and generally talking all things Queens/Football.

A raffle was held and one lucky ticket holder won a Signed Framed Queens Top.

Thanks to all who attended and showed an interest.

"About 45 supporters"???? Surely there were 43, 44 or 46 not hard to count, then again Queens have been having problems with counting financially and in crowd attendances over the past few years, so it's no really surprising.

Anyhoo, wuz it really worth the bother when so few folk even bother?

  3. Yeah Meadowbank stadium. The former home of the now defunct Meadowbank Thistle. They've played there for a number of years now. Quite possibly the worst place to watch football ever! Although I have fond memories of it as it was my first Queens away day and they won. :)

Dinnae be sae bloody daft, "the now defuct Maedowbank Thistle" only moved along the road tae Livingston and changed their name tae git a free stadium frae the local cooncil ye silly bugger.

  4. Monkey Tennis was right in saying different characters make sites interesting and I would say that the Qos posters are quite diverse in their approach . His different approach to mine made me grate him but now realise it was wrong . There are good quality Qos posters on here and that includes Flash and Truthhurts most definitely . I apologise and won't dig at you again. Love live diversity , let the debate begin . Happy Clappers , realists , statiticians ,glass nearly empty ones et all

Always look on the bright side son!!

  5. I'm a fair weather fan and my only vision of the players is what I see of games posted on the Official site. I do read the comments on here and the MAD pages and is is easy to see that the current players on our books are not up for it. We were relegated for being the worst team in the 1st Division and yet Queens reward these very players with new contracts. We then go on to sign a has-been like Derek Young and another in Derek Lyle who might be locked up behind bars before his contract ends. What I cannot fathom is why we re-sign players whom we all know were not good enough to keep us up and whom we all expect to put in a challenge for promotion.

Not good enough and as for the post from the Lockerbie "Cheese Man" .......enough said. :(

  6. Queens are actually in quite a healthy position I'm lead to believe .

Turning a loss into a profit for the first time in a while.

Do youse honestly believe that Queens made a profit last season? Would this profit include all the funding from the Trust (thanks Ross)? Did it come from a sudden sell-off of shares in our club (thanks Cheese man!)? Maybe someone opted to buy a small part of land in the car park (thanks Billy!)? I'm still flabbergasted that us real fans are not allowed to purchase shares under any circumstances. If some fans do stay away from home games this season, part-time football will return and the board will just blame us for not attending.

  7. Just a wee word on the friendlies. Maybe the opposition has been too modest but you can look at it two ways. You can string a few wins together ( like we have ) and get the confidence up for the real games or you can struggle a little with not really testing yourself against better teams .

Absolute huge mistake of playing against teams like we did.

I'm worried that we go into battle with a team full of failures.

  8. Just heard that the Trust chairman Ross Corbett has stood down. This is a man who's dedication to the club has been total.TravelClub,Trust,Action Group,Ball boys, you name it, he is there. You know that there is something wrong when this guys enthusiasm starts to wain.A true Queens man who's had the club at the forefront for years. He is what SUPPORTING a club like Queen of the South is all about.Hang your heads in shame B.O.D. .

THAT plus Ian "Blacko" Black getti9n' the boot fur pittin in too much hard work fur next tae nowt and then takin' o' his stuff hame frae the club museum.

I think youse are gan tae see a fair few long time supporters no gan tae games this season.
