^^^ a load of absolute nonsense

Atletico Madrid are the third most successful club in the history of Spanish football. They have been champions of Spain 11 times - 8 of them long before the Champions League era, and were European Cup finalists in 1975. They have had two spells in the second tier in their entire history, the first was in the 1930s, and the other was for two years at the start of this century.

They were known as the mattresses because their shirt colours were the same as the materials used in mattress production. At no point have they regularly "propped up the Spanish top flight" - in 86 seasons of La Liga since the end of the Spanish Civil War they have finished in the top 4 on 39 occasions and in the top 10 on 76 occasions.

Of the 10 occasions where they didn't finish in the top 10, nine of them came between 1993 and 2006 (ie after the Champions League started) - this was a historic blip for the club which was down to a fruitloop chairman.

It was 74 they played in the European Cup final and they only got there because they were the worst shower of animals ever to play the game.

They would have qualified for the cup winners cup not the European cup. There is now a European tournament for non league clubs called the FENIX trophy I think winners of the lowland and highland leagues could apply to play in it.

More reason to have your own ground? None of this ground sharing nonsense. I get it financially when teams can't afford their own grounds however there should be a cut off as to which league they should be allowed in while ground sharing. Clubs that invest in their own parks are at a disadvantage to those using council facilities. West Prem up the way shouldnt be ground sharing imo

If it’s good enough for inter and Ac Milan I think it’s good enough for this level of football.

He isn’t taking a penalty the goalkeeper is sies wever of Ajax .also the photo was taken in 73 six days after he agreed to join Barcelona.

The remaining 35 minutes will be played behind closed doors on a later date, so Ajax will still be 0-3 down for the restart.

If Feyenoord do win by 3 goals, it will be their biggest win away against Ajax in nearly 50 years. One more goal and it will be their biggest ever.

No it’s not feijenoord won 6-1 in Amsterdam in 1960

You're correct. Macedonian/Greek politics is a complex situation and had you been on University Challenge with Aberdeen or Robert Gordon you'd have aced the Greek history questions.

Just tell the locals that Alexander the Great and Aristotle were top lads and you'll be fine. Don't mention Plato as he was from Athens.

Another historical point PAOK are the club of refugees from Constantinople/Istanbul during a war between Greece and turkey.

Excelsior 2-2 Ajax, I believe only the third time in history we got any points off Ajax, brilliant!

Poorest Ajax side I have seen they have no chance of the title this season qualifying for Europe would be the best they can hope for.  The lead up to horemans goal was brilliant.

I haven't heard Aberdeen fans whining about their League Cup game being moved to Friday night because of the Stirling Highland Games on Saturday.

You really are getting desperate now not going to bother replying to any more.

That's good from a club that claims their groundshare partner has priority over Holm Park on Sept 2nd. The race day was announced way before the Cup dates were announced, all Clydebank needed to do to avoid a trip to Golspie was to agree to play it on the 3rd.

Clydebank and yoker have an agreement about what games have priority yoker were drawn at home Clydebank weren’t I fail to see how you find that difficult to understand.fort William have made a total mess of this and were silent about it for over 2 weeks and now they are trying to blame Clydebank for the situation they created by letting their ground out to another sport.you are obviously desperate to blame Clydebank as well but you are just making yourself look utterly foolish.

Strathspey Thistle and Ross County have about the only licensed grounds much closer to Fort William than Golspie that aren't playing that day, but Grantown's more of a pain in the arse to get to by public transport than Golspie. Fort William's basically in no man's land as far as licensed neighbours go.

@LeedsPhil worked it out on Fitbanorth..

Clach - 66 miles (but occupied that day)
ICT - 67 miles (but occupied that day)
    Ross Co. - 73 miles
    Strathspey Thistle - 76 miles
Nairn County - 78 miles (but occupied that day)
Dumbarton - 90 miles (but occupied that day)
    Forres Mechanics - 92 miles
    Elgin City - 100 miles
Rothes - 101 miles (but occupied that day)
    Lossie - 105 miles
Glasgow in general - 108 miles
Keith - 110 miles (but occupied that day)
and only then Golspie - 112 miles.

Then they shouldn’t have hired their ground out to another sport on the day of the Scottish cup.
