It's a plausible hypothesis that can't be discarded out of hand but I'd also suggest another couple of possibilities...

The idea of interfering in the market was always ideologically problematic for Tories and they were always liable to to ditch it when politically convenient

The people that make Grant's Vodka have donated lots of money to the Tories in return for them defending their interests

I think you've mixed up two companies.

So, theoretically, you could fling a complaint in about someone, with no substance, the police investigate, NFA, but you now have it show up on a disclosure check.

Unless something has changed, all Non Crime Hate Incidents are recorded on the Police Scotland Vulnerable Persons Database, which retains information in relation to a range of concerns including a detailed ‘synopsis of the incident and all known nominals’.

This information may be subject to disclosure under an enhanced criminal records check. Police Scotland also share information about people on the VPD with other public bodies such as council social work and education departments, the Crown Office and Prosecution Service, and the Scottish Children’s Reporter Administration

The offside one is difficult, as far as I am aware, it is the one thing the system gets 100% right all of the time, albeit I have certainly debated a few. And as we seen in the Prem, it still comes down to officials not making a pigs ear of it. But 2-3 minute delays to draw lines when we are really talking toe nails surely isn't the answer, saying that, I don't know what the answer is.

Make the defender line ten times thicker than the attackers?

When most Palestinians talk about 'from the river to the sea' it's about the freedom to live in their recent ancestors lands, whatever their religion, it's not about exterminating the Jews. The reason ISIS are sworn enemies of Hamas is their refusal to disavow Palestinians Christians, although their attitude to Jews has certainly hardened. I don't think it's remotely antisemitic now to say that Israel's strategy is to force all Palestinians out of Gaza, and then to keep the apartheid system in the West Bank so repressive that they flee as well. The 2 state solution has been a fiction for decades.

    I don't think that's antisimetic either.

But I do think you leave youself open to association when the likes of Ghazi Hamad of the Hamas political bureau answers "Does that mean the annihilation of Israel?" By saying  "Yes, of course/...the existence of Israel is illogical. The existence of Israel is what causes all that pain, blood, and tears. It is Israel, not us. We are the victims of the occupation. Period. Therefore, nobody should blame us for the things we do. On October 7, October 10, October 1,000,000 – everything we do is justified."

By all means 'ceasefire now', 'stop the killing' but, personally, I don't want someone confusing my support for the Gaza people as support for Hamas and their allies who carried out the Oct 7th attack.  You might have already seen Liz Truss say a 'radical Islamic party' may win in Rochdale. Don't give them the ammunition

Who would have thought this is where Mr Waldo would end up when his "Free Speech Anti-Woke" persona met his "Reflexively criticise anything done by a leftist or person who engages with politics outside of the screen that makes me anxious using fact free horseshit" persona?

    *I would

I don't know what you are talking about.

'free speech persona". Are you against free speech? Freedom to hold an opinion? freedom to protest?

You'll need to give your definition of 'woke' - it's got too many meanings now.

The rest, nope, you've lost, no idea.

The nearly* exact same "from the river to the sea" line appears in the ruling Likud party's constitution, but in their case it's about exclusively Jewish rule.

*It might say from the Mediterranean to the Jordan.

Yes. The extremists in Israel want a greater Israel that removes the Arabs from Gaza. From the river to the sea.

And extermists in Gaza want a Palastine that removes the Jews from Israel. From the river to the sea.

And yet, thousands, including folk on here,  still find it acceptable to chant and support this. Just shows their ignorance I suppose.

If, as you posit, they result in less tax revenue, how does this constitute a hike?

Interesting that you think that supporting a more progressve tax system that reduces taxes on low earners is "being an arse" though.

Patrick Harvie said on a recent Question Time that the Scottish Government are raising income but because it is a progressive tax, that is OK. so 3ither he is wrong, or you are.

Less revenue from a tax hike is possible, if a lot of taxpayers leave the workforce, or the country.

Should the names be changed, if so what should they be changed to align with up to date preferences?

Oh Gawd. I hope there are no status near it.

Since MUP came in, alcohol related deaths have increased in Scotland. Ignorjng the inflation costs etc, the policy has failed on its own terms. The hardcore alcoholics will miss food, stop heating and so on to keep drinking.

The argument, seriously, is that 'they would have increased more.'

Genuine question.  Whether it be the UK Government or the Scottish and Welsh administrations, are WhatsApp messages legally classed as official communications ?

    Work phone or personal phone?

Work phone, yes. Personal, not sure if legally, but I would think it is up to the investigation to decide what is relevant. Not the individual.
