  1. What has actually happened? Did the board go back on this appointment due to fan reaction on Facebook? Did the Club board approve but Trust board said no? Was it due to Tiff not being able to get his coaching staff?

A complete and utter shambles. Feel sorry for Tiff. A great player in his day but agree with Raving on and others, wouldn’t have been a great appointment.

I am now hoping Alan Maybury gets the job. Not a sentence I ever thought I would type out.

I see a lot of fans have said they won’t be renewing their Trust membership. I feel the same way. It is a waste of money but I now feel it would be better for everyone to renew. That’s the only way change can happen.

Certainly not raining on anyone's parade. We needed a back up, versatile defender to replace Edin Lynch and that's now been addressed early in the window.

Seems a good egg, low maintenance character that will fit in well with us.

He is a bombscare in defence. Defensive midfield and will do a job. He’s an ok League 1 player. Wish him all the best.

Off the field, there has been no announcements yet on strips or Season Tickets, however the club listened to the vote of the fans and will vote NO for the Conference League proposals. The club underwent a change of board last season, some fans were in favour and others were not, so without digging all that up again, there's an air or "wait and see" with regards to the clubs running, off the pitch. That said, with promotion and the attitude of the players and management staff throughout last season, there is also an air of optimism sand over the past 5-6 months, attendances have risen greatly, so lets hope this remains the case in League 1.

There has been zero updates regarding season tickets, pricing, strips, merchandise, pre season friendlies etc. Again, I'm sure all is well in hand but communication is a little bit lacking at the moment. I would have expected to be bombarded with emails trying to sell me stuff at this time of season whilst morale is at an all time high. I get the feeling at times, we probably have one poor lad who does the social media that gets drip fed bits and pieces to put out. The least said about the website the better, its an abomination that I suspect Robert Clubb (our IT Director) will have made a priority.

The fact there hasn't been a peep from the club since the end of the season other than the Hilson signing is disgraceful. Club should be going full pelt at this point to get as many season tickets sold as possible to increase the budget for the playing staff. It's starting to take the shine off the wonderful end to the season. This is the new board's first close season, its vital they get things right here, otherwise our visit to this league could be a short one.

Unfortunately nothing really has changed 12 months on regarding updates. Round about this time last year we were all on a real high. A brilliant title winning campaign and going into the summer with optimism. In fairness to the board, we have had updates in regards to the managerial vacancy. Same old story though. We should have had season tickets/early bird offers released. I realise their might be bigger priorities but I envy other part-time clubs  and teams like Falkirk who have already sold 3.1k season tickets and are pushing their champions merchandise - something we failed to capitalise on it seems. A new manager coming in won't fully know his budget when we haven't sold one season ticket yet.

I know social media is powerful but it would have been nice to have had a statement on players who are staying on/released by now. Finding out on various platforms is a bit shit.

He strolled it, made the PFA team of the year and would comfortably be the best player in League Two. It could just be a better move elsewhere but having had a taste of coaching at a relatively young age I think a few of us wondered if he’d fancy taking on a job of his own and Stirling might fit with the timing.

Aye. Maybe he has been offered better money at another Championship club and wants to focus on the playing side/smaller coaching role with less responsibility.

Brilliant guy and a real leader on the park. Obviously it’s hard to judge how much an assistant manager does but he’s been a great organiser on the park in his five years playing and two years as assistant and has been part of the playing and coaching team for the best Airdrie team in decades, so I could see why a club like Stirling might fancy giving him the top job. No info behind it, just interesting timing.

Was he solid enough at Championship level or a bit out his depth? Didn’t realise he was only 31. Seems a bit of a surprise he has left Airdrie if he was getting regular game time but possibly pursuing a managerial career.

Golf odds are mental. Scheffler is currently +2 and is 12/1, Laird is -4 and tied for the lead and is 40/1.

Not managed to catch any of it. Tough course? Homa +8. Seems like Bob is struggling to hit fairways today.

My thoughts now are that I wish the club had done the same.

The more I think about it, Darren Young’s sacking a week ago seems like a bit of a knee jerk reaction.  We narrowly failed to stay in League One. Another goal in certain games would have done it. We had a manager and squad who only one year previously had won league 2. I did want to see some evolution of the squad, just as I did last year but I didn’t think we were ripe for a full scale rebuild.

I feel the exact same way. Yes, we were rag dolled in certain games including Falkirk and Hamilton away. At times it looked very much like we had a team made up of solid League 2 players but no Kai Fotheringham to offer that little bit of magic from the wing. Darren Young was also far too loyal to certain players in not only keeping a full squad from the promotion campaign but also sticking with players who clearly weren't performing. That being said, although we had a weak defence as highlighted by others, we really struggled to put the ball in the back of the net which was our downfall.

I would have stuck with Young. I reckon he'd have made us competitive at League 2 level again but he will go elsewhere and I'm sure he will do well. This next appointment is crucial. Losing Blair Currie is a blow - a very good goalkeeper at League 2 level.
