Kelty will be okay till the fat cat gets fed up and effs off to sunnier climbs. Then it becomes "whatever happened to that wee team from Fife, they were doing really well?".

Truth be told I went up and watch their game with Lthv it's a terrific venue there is a buzz about the place and a desire about the whole place with comunity backing it all

Yes there has been investment but if they lose the first bit then that's when it would fall apart

Don't see it happening though as the club seem to realise this a very bright future ahead for them

Nobody at Dalkeith is too offended by this, but we are determined to improve the club beyond your 'not very good' description.

What you probably don't realise is that over the last 5-6 years our Community Club has steadily grown to 400+ playing members including around 50 girls in addition to 40 qualified coaches. We have a disabled football section, over 50s walking football, our over 35s won their league 2 years in a row, our Sunday Ams got to the Scottish Cup semi-final the season before last,  we have 2 adult Futsal teams and will have an Under 20s development side next season, and plans are in place for a Women's team. We are one of only two East Region Junior clubs to have an SFA accredited club Chaplain.

Last year our own training facility was upgraded to 3G astro and by the end of the year we'll have access to a full size 3G training pitch.  Our SFA Club Licensing application is being processed now so we have been making improvements to the ground and are developing things accordingly.

Dalkeith is the 'county town', and Midlothian is the fastest growing Local Authority in Scotland with 4000 new houses to be built within 3 miles of the town centre over the next 10 years.  A new train station was opened  at Eskbank in 2015, and the main visitor attraction at Dalkeith Country Park has benefited from considerable investment by Buccleuch Estates.

The town is definitely on the up and it deserves a strong football club for the locals to follow.  You can only wait and see if Dalkeith Thistle's potential is realised, or if it is still 'mediocre' in 5 years time.

    Absolutely spot on

Dale boy, an alternative view may be that the junior clubs have worked tirelessly hard to integrate their local community and have been looking towards gaining a licence for a considerable period.

To gain an SFA licence a club must be committed to the pyramid. With a commitment to licensing and the pyramid comes more exposure and the potential to attract better players and potentially more interest from fans. Yes some clubs may not be the greatest on the field right now, but you confuse club with team. Just because a club is successful in a junior league doesn't mean they deserve anything, particularly if they do not commit to the SFA guidelines on licensing, which right now involves a dedication to the pyramid.

In moving to the eosfl the clubs have committed to the pyramid and their local community. Why does it matter if they wind up right at the top straight away, what's important is their commitment to the future of local, regional and national football, for the imminent yearly future. Not simply blowing all their income on getting some trophies and some money......

Far to sensible for on here spot on

Read that this morning, its an embarrassingly outdated piece of thinking. He hasn't even realised that the "wasteland" of the EOS will have a significant number of "Junior" clubs in it - and lets be honest if Camelon are one of the Juniors biggest clubs in the country as claimed in the article then I must have been watching games with my eyes closed.

Yous two should get a room

    Again
