Lord justice taylor did not think it was adequate for the occasion. But your opinion is more noteworthy than his.

There were not enough turnstiles to cope with a crowd that size which in turn contributed to the crowd build up and crush outside the entrance. Once the gates were opened the crowd should have been directed to the side pens (two police horses present would have been enough to deal with it according to the taylor report) but instead the fans were greeted with a sign directing them into the already crowded central pens. Yes but if you have bothered reading/watching or listening to the media at all today you will read/see/hear that a lot of statements given at the time (164 from the police alone) have been doctored to help support this lie. Your logic is not without reason however it is not necessarily the sole reason for a surge like this. The momentum and movement of a crowd that size into a confined space was a job for the match commander and those in charge to avoid in which they failed. Can you imagine leaving with a large crowd at the old hampden and only one of the exits was opened when the 20,000 or so in your section coming at your back off the terracing were expecting all the exits open? There would have been a surge/push for sure. The point is that most of the liverpool fans that day did not know what they were walking into and were reliant on decent instruction and crowd control from the police and stewards yet were herded into the fatefull pens.

Sorry i raced on there. None of it was blamed (in the report) on late arriving/ticketless fans.Blaming the fans was one of the lies put out by south yorks police in an attempt to cover up mistakes made by them and has since been discredited.

I never said it was however all credible evidence was brought forward. 164 doctored statements to help towards the police cover up according to todays report. The south yorkshire police force attempted to cover up the mistakes they made by unjustly blaming the liverpool fans for the tragedy.

But today's report dismissed all the lies and false evidence given at the time of the taylor report did it not ?

Bollocks troll boy. The report released today cleared the fans of any blame...FACT.

As has been proven today and the prime minister has apologized for it. There has been too much nonsense spouted about this subject over the years blaming the fans for this disaster however the truth has come out eventually. Hopefully justice will follow and they won't have to wait another 23 years for it.
