His collection of the cones at Easter Road was top notch, he was bending down and picking up and the hamstrings withstood it all. Kettlewell has retired him.

Having seen Wilson a couple of times I am hoping he makes a push for that left wing back position.
It may be because it was my position in the school team but I have always had an affinity with our left backs.
Joe Wark, Tom Boyd (when he was a good guy), Rab McKinnon, Steve Hammell and even Georgie Gent - we are a hot bed of left backs.
Some can be skipped over.

Is there anything more boring than a new season home kit release from Celtic?
It’s got two horn things coming up the front

Sums our defence up in a way that we have a right back that's better at centre half and a centre half that's better at right back.
You wonder what Kelly might have been good at.

I mean, here's footage of big Aston before he signed for us so the fact he's seems happy to be coming and claiming crosses cleanly enough suggests that it's a coaching thing.
I'm not exactly sold on the idea of him being our #1 but I can see that there might be more of a route for him to get games now that Kelly is away along with all the awkwardness that a goalkeeper being captain brings.
There was also the consecutive league minutes record that the club was pushing.

Definitely an accurate take.
Ox played a couple of league cup games from memory so I went back to see if anyone had passed comment at the time.
@Archie McSquackle - "Oxborough is a lot bigger but didn't come for corners in the East Fife game which Kelly would have easily"
So let's not hold out hope he's our number 1 and if he is everyone better relax into a season of similar outcomes to this....
Does beg the question - have we had two goalies who naturally just don't come for corners and crosses? Or, has it been coached into them for whatever reason not to do that?
He lost 3 goals to QotS but he saved the penalty which got us the 2 points.

Just in case anyone didn't know and wanted to, the draw for the League Cup group stage is this Wednesday coming.
Highlight of the season, got a trip to Elgin last year.

Was that not Kipre? When some other bum signed for a league one english team?
Kipre was in for a pre season friendly, the season was started when Bevis appeared - he was just filling in
Bevis Mugabi eventually arrived in September 2019, with injury woes piling up in the defensive line.
Born in London, Mugabi represents his parents’ nation Uganda. The centre-back has featured at the Africa Cup of Nations in 2019 and is closing in on 20 caps for his nation.
It was former Motherwell player Alex Fisher that got the wheels in motion of Mugabi’s arrival in ML1, recommending him from their time together at Yeovil Town. Originally, Mugabi was offered a short-term deal but has went to wear the claret and amber on over 100 occasions.
“a short term deal”

Bevis will be the longest serving player, I seem to remember that he signed because he was in training with us when someone else got injured. So he stumbled into a contract and has stumbled his way through a few calamities and a few stellar performances. It takes all sorts.

I didn’t expect to see Bevis on the possibles list, as much as I like the big fellow he is a bombscare with the ball at his feet and needs 3 games to get up and running. If he sticks to what he is good at, headering the ball from the middle of a back 3 or putting the nets up then it may be fine.

I’m still convinced Clarke will take 4 keepers, to avoid difficult decisions and noses out of joint. Jack & Doak seem the obvious ones to drop out.
Clarke seems to have a strong loyalty gene, that would be the only thing that got Kelly on the plane.

Moving away from the list for a minute, has anyone had any joy renewing season tickets online for themselves and linked kids tickets? The e-ticketing site only shows my own season ticket, even though my kids accounts are linked to mine as part of my network.
Just wondering if there's a trick I'm missing to it before I call the ticket office.
I had different issues and I emailed them, they got back with everything resolved within 24 hours.

We replaced Kev in the aggregate, so this year we're going to have to manifest a 20 goal season from a striker to replace them with a unit.

I was disappointed with 4 minutes additional time, felt we were just getting our groove on.

Presumably Saints take an early lead and we equalise in the last minute?
