To me looks more likely he will stay due to Board inertia and lack of cash to pay him off. In which case time to get rid of that utter dud Murray and get a proper experienced assistant with any type of ability in…
It doesn't matter who his assistant is. Bartley is utterly intransigent. He's got football management cracked and it's everyone else's fault we're "utter dugmeat".

How has big Joel been getting on?
Quite a few Accies punters roasted him,but they also roasted Dylan Tait and Joe McGlynn…if only there was a link to all three eh?
I don’t think he is as bad as some of our fans made him out to be and would do a job for plenty League 1/2 teams.
He's missed a couple of sitters. He's powerful and quick, with decent movement, but his finishing lets him down. He'd probably average 10 goals in league 1 if played central. Bartley had him playing on the wing. I'd give him pass marks compared to some of the shite i've seen this season.

If i recall correctly we have a respectable record at Recreation Park?
I'll feel much more confident going into the match if Bartley has left the building by then. I'm not holding out any hope though.

Sadly I think you are right. He is a terrific orator but has zero skill at this level as a football manager, sadly. I like a lot of others was drawn in by the compelling narrative and young, cool, professional look but there is no substance. I don’t think he has a clue how to get us out of this. We are a full time team with a reasonable budget. How are we third bottom?
In other words, you fancy him and have given him more credit than he deserves. Even now you can't be objective. He has no oratory skills whatsoever nor have i seen evidence of this supposed intelligence he has over our previous managers. If you actually listen to his interviews, he drones on in a monotone until he gets bored or the interview runs out of time. At the beginning of the season, when his message was positive, i didn't hear any conviction or passion in his voice. It was as if he was reading the ingredients on a pack of biscuits. George Galloway is an example of a talented orator. He could read a list of ingredients and make it sound like poetry. I know i'd switch off if i had to listen to Bartley droning on in training everyday.

What do Queens have to attract a non-local investor? If there is no emotional attachment i can't see what the attraction would be, given the level of investment the stadium requires. Possible feeder team for a team down south? If so i think there are more attractive/less expensive options.

Has Bartley no shame after that today and the midweek news why doesn't he just walk as well?
He only cares about himself and no he has no shame.

Should've went with Neil Lennon, in the short term he'd have had you guys motivated and hard to beat. Also knows the Scottish game.
He's holding out for the Ireland job. If he doesn't get, i wouldn't be surprised to see him at Aberdeen next season.
Gary Bowyer would have been a decent interim appointment.

Allan Johnston has just thrown his phone in the river.
What will Billy do now?

At least I got to shout at Bartley as he left the pitch, highlight of my day.
Did he look bothered?

A change would be best for both parties. If Martindale takes you down - and he doesn't get it right in the championship - he might never work again as manager. He has clearly peaked at your club. If he leaves now he avoids having a relegation on his CV. Last night's improvement could prove to be another false dawn like the performance against Hearts. It could potentially get embarrassing if you don't hit form soon. It would be best to give a young manager like Dougie Imrie a free hit at the remainder of the season. Just my tuppenceworth with no axe to grind.

He's been in the job for a year.

Any news on Efe extending his stay until the end of the season or any newcomers? Ko is less than 72 hrs away and we need all relevant paperwork signed up and posted!
It's only a matter of time before we field an ineligible player given how the club is being run.

Annan sign free agent defender Rico Quitongo.
Rico had played as a triallist twice in December for Annan.
Good to see Rico back playing after that injury last season.
I hope Annan find a way to stay up in the playoffs.
Finishing below Edinburgh City would be nothing short of a disgrace.

Are the board seriously waiting until we're bottom of the table in January to make a change? Just to save a few grand in compensation?
I take it the Dykes windfall is well and truly squandered?

Bartley must stay until Saturday 5pm at least. Genuinely puzzled how someone who seemed so articulate and knowledgeable as a pundit/coach etc has made such a gibbering wreck of it, by and large.
Arrogance, naivety and stubbornness.
He's always struck me as David Brent on stilts.

Ah right. We've just to judge him on his successes? 'mon in Billy!
The overall picture is that he's done alright. We're hurtling towards league 2 at this rate. We're either going to take punt on someone with no experience or appoint a manager who's been sacked previously. Overall, we could do worse than Dodds. Whether he'd take the job is a different matter.

Not sure what Billy Dodds has done to convince folk he'd be a good appointment tbh. Having a look at his managerial career he has a 43% win rate. Bartley currently sitting on 46% (which will absolutely continue to fall though and he's had less games). But Allan Johnstone has a 44% win rate. I reckon Dodds was in charge of a better side than anything we've had at Palmerston recently as well. Really don't think he'd be able to turn us around. But then I don't know who could realistically turn this shitshow around.
Cup final as a manager and two cup finals as an assistant. Made the playoffs with Inverness in his two full seasons as manager.
Judging him solely on the beginning of this season is no different to judging Mourinho solely on his final few months at a club.

How did Yann Songo'o and Jordan Slew do last time?
I'll be amazed if he doesn't bring them up the road.

He can't answer questions he's not been asked tbf. That comes down to the interviewer but as has been said, if it's a club interview they aren't going to really ask the pressing questions.
He hasn't accepted any culpability. It's just empty words. He doesn't need to be asked what mistakes he's made in order to own up to them. Clearly the club's media representative isn't going to ask him why it's his fault. He freely elaborates on the mistakes of others. I don't recall him being asked what the players are doing in their spare time but he was quick to opine on that.
