Mcdonald away from EK to Airdrie. Hearing at least 8 players could be leaving.

4that will leave them with only 32 or so, how will mick pick a team without at least 25 signings before the start of the season?

This guy really enjoys being a contratian arse, he manages a team that voted for rhe B teams, at least 1 team unfairly included in the trophy voted for them too, meanwhile the teams getting shafted were some of the most vocal against their inclusion. Hopefully with  Broxburn replacing a pro B team club we can finally get shot of them after next season 🙏

Then Bo’ness would have nothing to be proud of.

you can play it off as fishing but this is a really disgraceful comment that entirely reflects everything we know and see about your disgrace of a club

Is there any chance EK could look at a change in the dugout? I know it's disappointing to lose the final but looking at it objectively, Kennedy and Ferry done a really good job and won the LL at a canter and should have got past Stranraer over the two games in terms of chances etc - not much the coaching staff can do if players don't put the ball in the net.

Behave, they were only crowned champions a week before the last weekend of the season. For a team with the amount of money and talent available to them, with a forward line of championship level players its embarrassing how long it took them to manage it, and the result of the play-off was entirely unsurprising to anyone paying attention

Appears from that, just like Rangers, Linlithgow Thistle died and a new club formed. If you're changing the location and name, it's not a leap to change the colours.

Why would they change the colours when every other aspect of them is an attempt to leech off the BU

Are you sitting comfortably, good then I will begin,

Once upon a time there was a Junior team and their name was Bo'ness United.   They played at Newtown Park which is not owned by the club but run by the NPA (that's another long story).

Over the hill there was a village amateur team called Linlithgow Thistle.

Some wealthy guys decided to pump some money into Linlithgow Thistle but where would they play.

Newtown Park was Thistles  preferred venue but using the "Bo'ness" ID was a concern for tge BU's so Thistle had a meeting with the BU's and there was agreement/understanding that Linlithgow Thistle would become a new team "Boness Athletic" and would operate lower down the leagues and be a feeder club for the BU's.

It soon became apparent that once "Athletic" had a foot in the door they had no interest in being a feeder club. Promises were broken and many of the BU committee HATE the Athletic committee.

There is no "history" between the 2 teams on the pitch.

Bo'ness Athletic is a pop up plaything for a few minted chancers, no more, no less.

Some call Athletic "parasites" but that's unfair......to parasites !!

    Mon the BU's !!!

Dave you missed the best part. They promised that they had no ambitions to join the pyramid and were allowed to use the Bo'ness United name in the Juniors. They then cried that they had to change their name when joining the pyramid because rightfully the BU committee told them to get to f**k

MK says, here comes the stadium:

East Kilbride winning promotion would spark new stadium and top Darvel's win over Aberdeen, says Mick Kennedy

East Kilbride boss Mick Kennedy has revealed winning promotion to League Two would finally spark the construction of a long-awaited £4.5m new stadium in the town.

Plans for a new stadium go back to 2016 when an East Kilbride News-backed campaign involving Rangers legend and EK's famous son, Ally McCoist, urged councillors to give the go-ahead to a 4,000-seater stadium in Langlands.

The blueprint for the facility was given the green light but Kilby have been holding off on the club reaching League Two to put the first spade in the ground. Eight years later, that could finally come to fruition if East Kilbride defeat Stranraer in the second leg of the pyramid play-off final on Saturday.

Kilby are one game away from glory after the sides drew 2-2 at K-Park in last week's first leg and if they pull it off, the club will be celebrating the start of a new era in a new stadium.

Appearing on the Scottish Football Show podcast, Kennedy said: "The owners' plan is to build a £4.5million stadium as soon as we reach League Two and K-Park will become the club's training base, so there are massive plans there in terms of infrastructure and investment.

"It is just up to myself, Simon [Ferry, his assistant] and the players to do it on the pitch.

"In terms of what the club could do on the pitch, the club could go into League Two and be a well-established part-time club at that level. But I think you need to earn the right to be there and, unfortunately, the club have fell short on a number of occasions over the last 10 years."

Kennedy, who masterminded Darvel's famous win over Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup last season, joined Kilby at the start of the season and led them to the Lowland League title in April.

And he says taking the club to the SPFL for the first time would surpass his cup shock over the Dons.

He added: "People have asked me if it would be bigger occasion than beating Aberdeen and I think for what it would mean to the people of East Kilbride, the owners and me on a personal level, I certainly think it would be. It would be so significant."

Genuine question based on your post.

If you are content to stay in the LL, which another couple on this page want the same, what would have been your thoughts about staying in the EoS Premier League?

Don’t think there is much difference, collectively, with the teams from both leagues. With exception of Linlithgow, home crowds can’t be that much better, overall, in the LL than EoS.

Perhaps because Bo’ness have been in LL for 4 years, you don’t see yourself/Boness with any connection to your EoS era?>

My 2 cents are that we spent only 2 years in the league and I want the BU to be at least at the highest point on the non-SPFL pyramid if not higher. The East of Scotland League cup was certainly a more interesting league cup than the Lowland League though.

The covered terracing behind the goal could easily hold 300.

When I went there for a game against Hamilton years ago, and when the terrace behind the goal got put up for the celtic match it was quoted as 500 IIRC

  10. totally gutted to not be making the Hearts B game, had it in my mind as Saturday but with in on the Friday I cant make it up in time from England. In general really sad at the lack of BU games I've managed, will need to make sure to get up more often next season, cant be missing out on the Hunterbaw renaissance

I like you as a poster, same with D Dave. But, this is not just a Tranent issue, albeit it appears this has gone a step to far! Linlithgow has already restricted their own 'ultras' as the wee knows are already causing trouble in the town centre. If clubs at this level, including East of Scotland clubs don't control their 'young teams' better, then this scene may get out of control. I know not all clubs are affected by this kind of issue, but taunting by a few 'young teams' appears to be getting out of hand.

Oh its absolutely not a Tranent specific issue, just stating my genuine gratitude to the fact that their officials are actually responding to instances like this in the correct manner, rather than how they did in the past.

What happened that Tranent are apologising??

Having been personally subjected to homophobic abuse from Tranetn fans I'm hardly shocked. Glad they're at least apologising for fans behaviour this time

OK here's how it happened.  We have 6 registered Centre Backs. Three  injured,  two cup tied and one suspended.

Stand in Dylan McDonald man of the match by a country mile, along with Lewis Spence best game for the team.

Last time here we were overwhelmed and frankly bullied. Not today. Stood up and were counted.

Silly sending off for John Robertson,  the epitome of genius and quite frankly stupidity.

As a squad I think today set an absolute marker,  This group means business and has everything needed to get to L2.

    Today we grew up.

only 6 centre backs? The hardship! Poor EK!

Have been impressed with Digaba on the couple of occasions that I've seen him, but from an objective perspective there are six sides with less GA than Bo'ness, so would think that one of those 'keepers would take precedence. Fully appreciate that clean sheets aren't just down to 'keepers, but it's certainly high in the key criteria.

Even if we didnt manage a top 4 finish as a first time management team coming in after the farcial exit of Ian Little leaving us totally in the lurch, the work Hunts and Michael have done to build a trong team unit really is remarkable. They have totally rejuvenated the team to a level not seen since Max Christies first season with us in the EOS. By the nature of their budget Gary Jardine is always stiff competition for best manager with how well he does with CSS but this season Hunts and Michael have been the absolute stand outs

  15. MK talking about Bo'ness having nothing to play for like we're not in a 4 way battle for the league cup spot. Then again when you've only ever managed at places where you can make signings willy nilly and don't need to care about finances its no surprise hes ignorant of that fact
