From what I've seen Reynolds has been just as poor as he was last year, weak with terrible distribution. We had to either sign a left back, or a midfielder to play alongside Jack as well as a centre half.
And, although it's only 4 games into the season, we look totally toothless. Hayes being out doesn't help. but surely with the added depth we would be hoping for more?

O'Connor and Lewis are both good signings, but the issues everyone could see last season haven't been addressed.

Interesting Interview on redtv when McInnes said he would like to take another midfielder in but the budget has been spent
If that's the case, he's done a fucking awful job of allocating the budget.
Shocker of a window so far.

Anyone heard anything about Luke Leahy potentially leaving?

Looking at the co efficient our points each season is fairly static each year with no progress sadly.
General rule of thumb now its almost impossible for non Celtic teams to get beyond the third qualifying round.
Aberdeen will likely take a hiding from Maribor unfortunately.
Celtic to get through a Europa league group stage is probably as good as gets so it would take a few amazing seasons to improve from where we areWe might not get through, but a 'hiding' is quite unlikely.
We've beaten better teams in the recent past.

Tbf as an outsider the proposed area looks like a horrible idea.
It would be very good for fans from outside of the city.
Shite for me though, I'll miss being able to walk to games via the pub.

Flood to United after Thursday, according to the Sun.

Rangers are pathetic, imagine being the team who let them win it
Like going 2-0 up in a tie and then losing?

Of the out of contract players Aaron Lennox is the only one to stay, having signed a new 1-year deal.

Very much doubt any under contract players will be going anywhere before mid to end august at earliest
Players out tomorrow
Church - loan return
Collin - loan return
Robson - retired
Brown - mutual consent - wife didnt like Scotland
Goodwillie - released
Rose - released
Lennox - may return as trialist for pre season
Brown is out of contract so it wouldn't be 'mutual consent'.

Church and Brown have bid farewell and Robson announced his retirement on RedTV. Who else will be included on the see ya later article to be released on the official website tomorrow? Apparently some under contract players have been told they're free to find new clubs. Could be any of the following:
Flood, Reynolds, Taylor, Smith, Rose, and Pawlett. The first three would be relatively high earners imho.
There is 0 chance that Taylor will be leaving imo.
McInnes specifically said that he needs more physicality in the team, so releasing our most physically dominant players would not make much sense.

I would expect Pittodrie to be more valuable than 13 years ago but I think Aberdeen maybe mucked about with that figures! it would have went slighty down with the recession we are now but hopefully by the time we sell the oil prices will recover.
Is the council putting some cash into this as notice Councillor Willie young comment in the paper today about something about City deal funds.
You're probably right in regard to the price of the Pittodrie land, I didn't think of the increased value prior to the recession.
As far as council funding goes, it does seem as though there will be a contribution. Milne was talking about the Council doing very well to get the City Deal, and a councillor was in the paper saying that it could generate £20-30m for the area with increased traffic out in that direction.
EDIT: Another potential downside of this move is that it could be the death knell for a few of the pubs left on King Street, going the same way as the East Neuk.

It does seem the decision is based mainly on money. If they were doing it to double the capacity for example then it would be the obvious decision to move, but Pittodrie could be redeveloped to include far better facilities whilst retaining close to the current capacity; Liverpool recently and Hearts years back have shown what's possible in a crowded city centre location.
Pittodrie is really poor for away supporters and traffic can be a pain, but it seems all too easy to just sell up and build on the outskirts of town. It's a shame to keep losing traditional grounds in the name of progress.
I'm guessing the value of the land at Pittodrie means financially it's the best option to sell up?
It's a lot less valuable than it was 13 years ago when a move to Kingswells was first put forward, unfortunately.
It's the result of a series of missed opportunities spanning decades, I feel. All of the available land around Pittodrie has been bought up and developed (no thanks to Mr. Milne) leaving a very tight space. Although I don't see why the Main Stand couldn't be rebuilt, with the road being moved further in the direction of the car park.

Why can't they stay at Pittodrie? Looks like this new ground is in the arsehole end of nowhere.
Maintenance costs are already high and increasing all the time, and the area is too tight to do any big redevelopment.
Or so we're told.

If I remember correctly 30,000 was only mentioned years ago when Scotland were considering putting in a bid to host the Euros and a new Aberdeen stadium would have been part of that. A total non starter though.
You're right enough. I think they were talking about having a temporary extension to one of the stands that could be put up/taken down when needed.

Looks ambitious. The training facilities will be a big step forward. Was the original new stadium not to be 30,000 capacity? This one going to be same? Surely 25000 max.
The one at Cove was going to be around 21,000 I think. 30,000 would be way more than we need, although it would be good for semi-finals.

That looks absolutely brutal. I'd have been done with the football if we had sold Tynecastle and moved to some soulless legodome miles away from anywhere.
You're a total frother so I'm not surprised you're saying that.
The stadium shown in the images is a place holder, not a plan. It'll be very similar to the Loirston plan with a few adjustments, I'd imagine.

How come Callum Paterson is in the squad then? Hearts have the same Euro games
Perhaps if Generalissimo Trump ate more fish oil and zinc he would have figured that out himself.

I think it's a council or local authority decision (i.e. the issuing of a safety certificate). If they could somehow make the p***ks who make these decisions see common sense then they could have such areas. Would be worth a try.
Certainly not while Labour are about.
Do the SPFL not have a say when it comes to stadium specifications?

Why couldn't they use them?
Safe standing has only just been allowed, with strict conditions in place.

Nice wee tribute for Norman Goldie. Used to see him round the city centre a lot when I lived in Aberdeen and sometimes clocked him when I was walking back from work through Torry. He was well thought of in the city so it's good to see Aberdeen recognise him. Maybe they'll name part of the new stadium after him? Maybe not a stand but a hospitality box or something?
The location is pretty shit to get to. There'll be next to no facilities around for fans to go to and miles from the train or bus station for those who aren't travelling by car be they home or away supporters. Mind you it's not like there are an abundance of sites in the city and redeveloping Pittodrie isn't an option so I guess the club are quite limited in where they can go.
I think the only site in the City that was looked at was Kings Links, but they decided that the water table was too high or something.
PnJ says that the stadium will be 19,000 capacity, all seated.

It seems implied that the stadium itself will be the same as the one from Loirston.

First question I'd be asking Milne regarding the new stadium is how much cash they have spent on feasibility studies etc for Loirston Loch, hundreds of thousands of pounds wasted.
The amount spent on the Loirston project was over a million, if I recall correctly. Think it was something like 1.9m?
I could of course be speaking shite.

Socks are pretty plain...
There's something not right about the way Shinnie's torso and shoulders are proportioned.
