P.S. don't know what the current leasing arrangements are.

Correct WWR, the old shipyard and Vics Park was split by an access road to the field behind which the old farmer refused to sell when the land was sold to the original developer. Made no sense at the time to build a private housing scheme with a farmer access right in the middle of it. That gave us a stay of execution but looks like that has all changed now.

Best of luck to Darvel next season and beyond. Changes happen in football all the time and sometimes not always for the good but it still happens. Darvel are now in a position with their finances that they could only dream about less than 10 years ago. Why wouldn't you want to invest that cash in the playing squad? If it brings them success good luck to them.

I wouldn't say that those players disappointed given they won a league title and kept their club in the championship over two years during a reconstruction. Not bad for a small provincial junior club. Maybe didn't meet expectations of some with money invested of late but that doesn't guarantee success all the time.
Is it not these said players that have disappointed over the last 2 years that has created this scenario 🤷♂️

2 minutes ago, who at all the depays said:
Full team ripped apart at darvel tonight. Not many survived the chop including the captain whose been there for 7 years. A team that's been built for nearly 8 years ripped to bits. Plenty of teams have spent money trying to achieve what the Talbot do. Let's hope for the sake of the club youse have made the right call.
Take big Hendo for the Vics, would be a great addition to our young players.

I would love to see Roddy back across the river if he isn't needed.
Have also made Sharpes loan signing from Queens Park permanent. Sharpe, Forsyth, McTernan, Boyd, Boyle and Patterson all strikers. Will be hard to keep them all happy but 6 tremendous players.0 -
Just to echo Ski64's previous post well done to the players and management team for keeping us in the Championship

Cheers Peter, it was good that it was always in our own hands and that we weren't reliant on other teams to help us out. All the best to you guys in the top league next season.

FAO Mike match video director, make sure to include slow mo replays of the two penalty shouts in the first half when you're doing your edit?[emoji6]

I will let you know what his response isafter he gets pulled in for further questions once the video evidence is viewed.[emoji6]That's bad that he thought it was a stonewaller and didn't give it . As for the second one he surely saw the handball, the only decision is whether it's deliberate or his hand is in and unnatural position, we all thought it was.

I spoke to my boy tonight David and he said that his mate Swanny ( the ref) was questioning what the 2nd penalty claim we we were asking for. He didn't deny that the first one was a stonewaller.Very well deserved Tombo and I look forward to seeing the highlights to see the 2 penalty shouts we had in the first half.
We clung on a bit in the 2nd but a point a piece was fair..1 -
Great point today lads. I know 0-0 isn't something you would normally celebrate but you all worked hard and deserved to take something from a really strong team. Mon the Toria

Definitely David, speaking to Arthurlie fans going out they felt their own keeper stopped us taking all three points and that our performance was not that of a team near the bottom of the league.Definitely Tombo and losing the equalising goal right on half time was a blow.
We've had some performances recently without getting the rewards I think we've deserved.

Irvine Vics ground for sale?
in Junior Football

We might get it for a knock down price given that there is Jehovah's Witness hall sandwiched in between the Women's Aid and a Homeless Unit. Who would want to buy a house and live there. They should give us the ground gratis since we bring some respectability to the area.[emoji6]
